You're welcome! Stella has actually worked at this very orphanage as an individual (not as part of a job) so she will be able to give you great guidance!
I would love to go one day...my best friend told me about the orphanages in vietnam, so that's why i youtubed it xD also, i just realized that this video was posted in 2006, so that little girl must be a bit older now!! haha, i hope she is doing well. just another question, when you sign up as a volunteer, do you get to choose which city or a specific orphanage? thank you for sharing your video, it was inspiring.
She's doing very well...turning 5 in Aug. & will be starting Kindergarten in the fall! Generally, non-profits will only work with one orphanage or in one city/village, that way their help isn't spread too thin. Choose to work w/ one that works in a region you're interested in. Like if you want to work here, Google "volunteer orphanage danang, vietnam" & u'll get alot of hits. Google that exact saying, the first hit u'll get is from a lady named "Stella", email her! She'd be a great resource!
ohhh she's a girl! lol, still so cute.. love her smile... just out of curiosity... how did you get into volunteering? did you sign up with the red cross? thanks xD
Actually, this video was shot by the lady who ended up adopting that same little girl. She and I are very close but she's not great with the computer. :-) She works for a non-profit who has done work in that village before. Usually those types of places are run by non-profits who are dying for help. You'll have to arrange to get yourself there and you won't be paid but it will be the time of your life!
That is great to hear they have been adopted. Is it possible to get the babies some normal diapers there? I have been thinking of starting a non-profit for orphans to send paper products and lightly used clothing overseas. It is so sad that such simple things we take for grantide are so hard to come by in those countries. I will contact the Red Cross and ask how I can help today. Are you there right now? Is this something you do every year?
How many of these babies have been adopted since you were there? Gosh, I just want to help them all. It is so sad to see even though the workers try hard. I would like to volunteer there too.
From what I understand, all the babies have been adopted out from the orphanage. They have families on waiting lists as babies come in, they're referred as soon as legally able. Contact the RedCross if you're interested in volunteering. There are many volunteers in and out of that orphanage on a regular basis. They're all so adorable! I agree with you!
I want one of these cute Viet Babies too, but I am just an un-married Guy so how could I even get one :(
