Why would anybody do this? Because it's funny as hell, that's why!!! I support this guy that you call a "jerk" 100% If you have a problem with his actions, you should probably go get a job instead of sucking the money out of all the pockets of us hard-working Americans.
Big deal. So a truck blew it's horn early in the morning. Why doesn't OA change their message to helping the homeless and mentally ill by living with them, providing for them and feeding them? That would be so much simpler and more constructive and understandable than this BS line about "corporate greed." The DFH's in Asheville ARE the corporations and businesses. You are messing with their livelihoods and they are the ones afraid to speak out against you.
the folks who are occupying are bringing in way more tourist/tax dollars than they are costing the city. Of course, they are only costing the city $16 per day, so it is not hard to beat that.
the people who honked like this are showing that they are total jerks.
hard working familys??? nobody is working there??? your costing the entire city lots of money and disrupting the local economy. there is nothing democratic about this movement. stealing is not democratic.
@circusboy90210 you simply don't know what your talking about... many homeless are joining us... but there are also many working people, veterans, mothers, and elders present.
most of the business owners nearby support the movement, and the only thing we are costing the city is the lost meter revenue....16$ a day..... thats it.... total.
those other fees the city is talking about are for special events...not for political demonstrations.
and this IS what democracy looks like... worldwide!
@rosettastar democracy looks like people registering to vote being an active intelligent informed part of the process. all over the world??? no before this activity's like this have always been called what it is , an unruly mob, the only difference here is you guy's are being quiet. that's $16/day per spot, plus cleaning up after and providing extra police to watch you very undemocratic people. a small minority being very vocal is not very democratic. the group gives the image of homeless.
@rosettastar just because you have a few of those other groups in your group does not detract from what the group is. the lowest 10% who would be struggling in any type of economy. in total the group is costing the city tens of thousands per week that would not be if you would not be downtown all day and night. many business have been secretly complaining about you. I know most of the business owners. wasting time you could be competing in the marketplace taking the power and money legitimatly
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
maybe that person has a legitmate grief with the group. like your hurting downtown business during toursit season??? they have just as much rights to make statements as you do.
