  • Jeff Healey lost both of his eyes to cancer when he was just 1 year old. He began playing guitar when he was just 3. He died in 2008 at the age of 41 from cancer. God bless his soul.

  • @lxhobson Thank you for Jeff's medical details! He will never be forgotten!!

  • This is better than George Harrison's in my humble opinion. RIP Mr Healey. You were one of the greats.

  • Jeff had a different style of playing the guitar but to tremendous effect.Seldom has anyone taken a song like this and given it extra wow factor.I have to say the guy was a genius and managed to let the music do the talking.

  • Ok....whats with the guitars in the leaves?......

  • @curtgenerowe The Autumn leaves is a symbol of the end of the summer and happy season - thus Jeff's end of life...

  • so good

  • playing with heart and soul

  • RIP Friend---

  • Un grande chitarrista;da non dimenticare mai.Che serva da esempio per tutti i musicisti e non!!Ciao Jeff!!

A great guitarist but not least, to serve as an example for all musicians and people! Hello Jeff!

  • 6 people have no taste in music :(

  • Sweet!!!!

  • I can only say OM(F)G... Love is love and there is nothing anyone can do 'bout it...

  • I think i just had my longest orgasm yet, from 3:20 till of song...damn.. i can feel the guitars weeping literally!

  • el bajista ahi esta en cualquiera...que de vuelta la mano por lo menos!!

  • Hi TheStuntmancanada,

so sorry for Your loss. There's gonna be a great band in Heaven...

    Peace

    Cali

  • This was my brother. This was played at my other brothers funeral this week. My brother was Todd Murchison. Jeff and Todd were inducted into the Blues & Jazz Hall of Fame Together. My brother did not deserve to die. The only good thing is they can Jam in Heaven together. God Bless

  • @TheStuntmancanada So sorry that your brother died, yes indeed Jeff and Todd will meet and enjoy each other's stories and jamming! :)

  • @TheStuntmancanada heaven... it actually exists...?

  • This song was already good originally but Jeff found it and and raped it with his guitar which at that time wasn't weeping but was excited and in my opinion I like this version better than the original.. RIP Jeff.

  • A true genius and master. U can feel how closely he is connected with the guitar

  • amazing,,,

i love how a blind man can play better then majority of the Guitarist from today's

    day and age.

  • hes still my fuckin all around fav. no doubt. everything he did was fuckin cool

  • He plays with such heart and one more gone such emptiness in the blues world.

  • even totally blind people like jeff healy can make a guitar sing so beautifully, just another example of really talented Canadian musicans, God bless u and keep u always Jeff healy rip

  • even totally blind people like jeff healy can make a guitar sing so beautifully

  • Jeff Healey... One of the best guitar player of history...

He don´t play with the fingers or eyes...

    HE PLAYS WITH THE SPIRIT...

    Pure inspiration...

  • @lukkeduke Why who DOES play with eyes?

  • Unbelievably pure. Magical beyond words. I can't believe six, or even one person would dislike this.

  • The best version ever,...better than beatles, harrison, santana and all...

All version is amazing...but this one, to me, is very special...

    It comes from the soul

  • A guitar belongs strapped over a guitarist's shoulder, in the lap, or in the case. Not the leaves!!

  • yes his music is awesome

  • He died too young! Fortunately he left us some impressive playin' to entertain us while we wait to go join him

  • He was so awesome

  • This made me cry... Such a great musician, such a touching song.

  • R.I.P JEFF I WILL ALWAYS BE IN AWE OF YOUR STYLE AND TONE. WORDS CAN'T CONVEY HOW I FEEL .

  • I love Jeff Healy....it's rare to see such talent from a man who was born blind. I was so sad when I heard he had died....may you RIP Jeff and continue playing wonderful music in God's kingdom of heaven :)

  • @tracimh78 He was not born blind.

  • @tracimh78 He become blind when he was 1 years old.

  • IMO THIS SONG is the greatest all time ...and this versions is so great too

  • why the fuck do all the greats die so young , r.i.p. you legend

  • Comment removed

  • Jaw dropping.

  • In my opinion, the best version for this song. Jeff Healey was an excellent musician. God bless you, Jeff.

  • goo song, but those guitars are a sore sight

  • the most underrated guitarist of all times?

  • this is by far the best cover of this song IMO. another really good one is by a Beatles tribute group called Rain.

  • i fricken love this song

  • I like this version better than the original by the Beatles.

  • Jeff would have been flatered by this and the imigarey of him disappearing he left us so young

  • R.i.P Jeff thank you for everything you played for us.... you will be missed lot

  • Framptons version sucks compared to this......RIP Jeff

  • Sometimes I can't believe he plays on his lap when I hear him solo...

  • Framptons is better for me....

  • The sound is too yucky... Regrettably.

  • Very creative vid. A nice tribute to Jeff. Thanks!

  • This will be the best version ever, together with the Clapton's one ! RIP Jeff..

  • @RickInRock84

I far prefer Framptons in truth. This is not bad though and the guy certainly made light of his disability so credit and all that...

  • @Airraidsiren60 That's all about your honest opinion, dude. And maybe i'm not eactly the right person who could say if your one is acceptable or totally wrong. All in all, I like the Frampton's version, but for me, comparing that version with the Healey's one is just like comparing a kid tricycle with a Honda CBR 1000RR Repsol.

With all of respect for Frampton, and for your opinion...

  • @RickInRock84

    Great analogy, i agree 100%.

    R.I.P Jeff

  • You rock Jeff!!! R.I.P

  • Way to ruin a video with dumb fukin shots of nothing relevant you must have your head stuck up your asz hole

  • You've got some high pitch distortion going on in this video for some reason. Check it out in high volume with decent headphones. No good. Also, what's wrong with the original video? Why the guitars with leafs?

  • Jeff Healy was God's gift, no doubt. That being said, how come the guitars have no strings on them?

  • If you really think about it. This man had a nice life, he mastered an instrument even with a disability. He is fucking brilliant at! He got to live in a time where music wasn't just the media and auto-zone, it was when real music was played and musicians were living life not worrying about cameras.

He had a good life if you ask me, he ignored the fact that he didn't have sight and went on to probably sings the best remake of a song ever. He made it incredible.

  • This is good music.

    This is music.

  • R.I.P. AMAZING!!!!

  • May your guitar gently weep on,weep on in all our hearts forever Jeff!!! Wish you were still with us here but your music will stand the test of time forever. We all miss you Jeff...But being your biggest fan no one has missed you more then me.R.I.P Jeff!!! A guitar legend gone way before his time.

  • RIP Jeff....

  • homemade music video ftw?

  • happy birthday xoxoxooxox

  • Best version of this song I ever heard. Jeff Healey, gone way too damn soon :(

  • R.I.P. Jeff, miss you and your screaming stratocaster. Thank you

  • His birthday is the same day as mine... damn.... and I'm gonna perform a cover of this song next month...isn't this coincidence?? :S

  • 1000*****

  • not bad for a guy that was blind

  • Jeff Rest in peace Brother, miss you & Thank you so much for the memories.

  • R,I.P Jeff Healey.... You will play on forever in our hearts and Minds, Thank you

  • best version ever!! His voice is so euphoric and watching him play is utterly fasinating! RIP

  • @warchild1976 Fender lace sensors

  • R.I.P. Jeff

  • all i can say is WOW!

  • todavía no entiendo que tienen que ver, que sea ciego a que tenga la guitarra en esa posición....

  • I do love the beatles, but theres so much fire in this version I cant help but prefer it,

  • awesum dude!

  • He could make that motherfucker cry, all right.

  • great player great song ,

  • You must live in pain to play that good

  • @kolbjorng Well, not being able to see was probably painfull enough.

  • almost hurts too much to hear him now

  • Hopefully Jeff ends up in the Rock and Ro;; Hall of fame. He was a pure Artist.

  • @timdoog42 :) yep!

  • Great song and playing.... great memories of Jeff.... nice pictues...

    John

  • Is there a metaphorical meaning to the fact that the guitars shown in the autumn leaves....have no strings?

  • jeff healey may just be the most underated musician of all time

  • It was noted that when Jeff Healey did the cover of this song that even George Harrison was impressed and joined in on a few occasions as a guest for Jeff. I certainly miss his music.

  • Amazing song but seriously, leaves? WTF are you on?

There is no metaphorical beauty you're just a complete gimp.

If this song wasn't so amazingly melodic and inspiring i'd call a jihad on you.

    <3 Jeff always.

  • best song - better than the original

  • I Love Jeff Healey.......... Goooooddddddddddddddddd Guitar

  • damn,,.. goose bumps :D:D:D soo beautiful!!!

  • rip jeff geartest guitar artist ever liveed mang

  • Jeff rest in peace You were a awesome player-singer than and now Your music is in my heart forever

  • this is my personal favourite version of the song.

  • R.I.P.

  • This is one of my favorite Beatles' songs. And I have to say that this is better than the original version to me. I love this song.

  • love this song..

  • what's the fun you hear a guitar solo and don't see the guitar player? Specially when there is the image recorded.

  • @nnppmoura Metaphorically - it says that sadly Jeff died...

  • @nnppmoura why should you have to see him, he could never see you...the beauty is in more than sight

  • @nnppmoura its music you know, you LISTEN to it. Try it, you might like it....

  • great SONG !

  • When you think about it, due to his blindness and the way he played, he must have been the best guitarist in the world. I mean how many guitarists with proper eyesights can play half as good as Jeff?

  • ...still wondering what makes a hunk of wood and some strands of steele so G.D sexxxie..dont know dont care FRET BURNER 4 LIFE!!!!

  • Saw Jeff & the Band Live in Hamilton (NZ) in the Early '90's - Just Awesome.

    Such a loss...R.I.P. Jeff.

  • ssuperb!

  • Brings tears to my eyes...................

  • This guy has done the best versions of alot of songs that aren't his, this is is one of them. You are and forever will be missed, RIP Jeff!

  • Too bad he is gone...truly amazing....

  • RIP

  • one of the few covers of this song that is (forgive me george) as good as the original if not better

  • @kingoftomatoes

and George Actually liked Jeffs version...A Lot !

  • Beatles version his better.

  • @Exodus1996 Maybe for some the Beatles' version is better but for my generation this version is better because that's the only version I've know and constantly heard on the Radio and it became popular - don't get me wrong I love the Beatles very much, but I haven't heard them sing that song much... before Jeff Healey...

  • This song is even better than the beatles/clapton original, amazing it may be. The man could really sing AND play. As far as I'm concerned, this song now belongs to him, like Hallelujah belongs to Buckley. RIP, Rock&Bluesman. The world will be missing you.

  • Thanks for all the overwhelming compliments!!

  • prettig voor de oortjes.

  • what an amazing solo

  • favorite version of this song!

  • Thank you again for the newly post in support to a wonderful musician!!

  • Splendidly!

  • Love the Video.... and the rendition.

  • An amazing cover of this song and an inspiration to us all. RIP Jeff.

  • There's not many times a cover becomes better than the original.. But Jeff Healeys cover of "While my guitar gently weeps" is definately one of the rare examples where the cover truly is better.

  • Exactly - I thought so as well... this is why I wanted to bring it up in homage to Jeff's rendition!

  • I could not agree with you more, Jeff surpassed Lennon's singing by far. Lennon's version can't even touch the soul.

  • Ignorant ! It is George Harrison singing the Beatles version - dont perform your stupidity.

  • @vinodiveritas George Harrison wrote and sang it originally dumb ass.

  • @vinodiveritas

lennon never sang this song to my knowledge. written by harrison, sung by harrison, guitar courtesy of our lord and savior: Eric Clapton

  • Most definitely. This dude could flat-out play the shit out of the guitar.

  • @Budoshi jeff healey is the original person who did this song

  • @BassBoyize No.. George Harrison composed and wrote this one... Get your facts straight..

  • @Budoshi This cover isnt as good as The Beatles version or George Harrisons Live versions. WHAT ARE YOU ON??????

  • @BL80488 Sorry to dissappoint you.. but I do prefer Jeff Healeys cover to Beatles original. It is incredible, especially taking in account that Jeff was blind as a bat.

  • @Budoshi

i too think his version is very good, but better than Clapton and George Harrison?no way.

  • @Budoshi Its the best i've ever heard. Far better than clapton or lukather...

  • @Budoshi you're right

  • @Budoshi Van Halen's Pretty Woman

  • wtf why is he playing like that

  • @cardshark87 Jeff Healey was blind most of his life, to play the guitar like that was the only way he could play it.

  • I Fuckin' Suck ... This Man Proved To Me that i dunno a shit about Guitar :D...

  • Such an amazing guitarist.

And those are some awesome guitars you have :)

  • Thank you very much all over again for the overwhelming, caring thoughts and giving homage to a genius!!

  • Jeff proves that we alone are the greatest handicap in using God's gracious gifts. Jeff was a gift to the rest of us. God Bless his family.

  • R.I.P. jeff healey much love

  • Saw the man perform this one live in Leeds in the mid 90's. Still got me hooked = 5*

  • Yeah, we did too, and in Manchester, bout 88 or 89. I fell in love! the ceiling was actually dripping, everyone went wild.

  • Thank you to everyone, I am so pleased that Jeff Healey fans like my video, which I created with love and attention to his perfectly sung version to this Beatles' song!!

  • Never thought I'd say anybody is better than the Beatles, but Jeff's version of this song is.

  • Thanks for posting. Jeff Healey's version is my favorite one.

    RIP Jeff Healey

  • good song cover ...Jeff Healey rocks, and your video is a joy to watch! *****

  • It was all I could do to not cry when I saw this video--amazing job. Jeff Healy would be proud. Thanks 1Cyberangels.

  • Thank you very for the kudos to my video, I made sure to give justice to this wonderful song and especially to Jeff Healey's amazing music skills!

  • The autumn's scenery with the guitars among the leaves and the message in the melody sung with Jeff Healey's voice is deeply insightful! Great job!!

  • Beautiful film strip with the guitars and leaves towards a wonderful sad song in tribute to an amazing musician!! I love it!!

  • This songs always reminds me of the anniversary day they announce on the Radio - John Lennon died that day on 8 December (1980), and they always play that song and most of his songs... it's a sad tune but very nice, and for me this is the first time I hear about Jeff Healey, that also died? I like the autumn scenery!

  • Jeff Healey Band disbanded as a performing and recording entity in 2002, the rights to the band's name and music have been disputed, with the legal wrangling involving Stephen and Healey continuing almost to the day the famously blind virtuoso died of cancer this spring. "They fought like cats and dogs," said Richard Flohil, Healey's publicist. "There was an enormous amount of enmity."

  • A new Jeff Healey Band product is about to be released, but a row has developed as to whether it should see the light. Christie Healey, the widow of Toronto guitarist Jeff Healey, released a statement on Tuesday saying she was "deeply and sadly disappointed" that Winnipeg-based Arbor Records will release Legacy: Volume One against her wishes. The compilation, which includes a DVD documentary and a pair of CDs, was produced in collaboration with Tom Stephen, the Jeff Healey Band's drummer.

  • Jeff Healey, one of many great Canadians! I'm glad you brought this up... I've been to Jeff Healey's concerts twice, he is amazing!! It's sad that he died so young!!

  • Very beauteful!!5*****
