  • I was on ebay and I searched orange stick, and I found (first item) 100 orange sticks for $0.99. I think it's worth checking out. :)

  • Thanks! I was wondering what they were as well!

  • @SimpleLittlePleasures where can you buy proper orange sticks

  • @Cripplex2 they’re available most places that sell polish, usually stocked near the files & clippers =)

  • when i put the polish in the water i just stays there

  • @giroftheyear1234 Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • I dont get it:/

    ?????

  • @CrazyBeautifulLife41 what don't you understand?

  • ohhhhh those are the sticks that u clean your cuticals with :)))))

  • @simplelittlepleseus you are REALLY pretty!!!

  • I've tired to do water marble....nd its not working I try and try idk...So wat water sud I use?????:D

  • @Vurbina19 I always use room temperature filtered water from a Brita pitcher - most tap water is too hard & the polish will not spread as well. Bottled is also usually OK as long as there are no additives. You can check out my water comparison under the Tips & Tricks playlist in the information box to see the difference =)

  • i tried water marble lot of times but its really not working i dont know y i watched another couple of vedios they used warm water so can u just clear me pls

  • @MsYogita20 I always use room temperature filtered water. • My daughter made an orange stick out of a wooden skewer and she cut the tip of another one and made a dotting tool... The both work pretty good I must say...

  • I'm going to make myself an "orange stick" out of a small branch!!! Whittling is fun!!!

  • orange stick?? thats funny.. in germany we call them with the german word for rosewood-stick "rosenholz-staebchen" so I always thought back in the days they were made of rosewood

  • GO CATCH YOUR BUS!!

  • I call it cuticle sticks they look like cuticle sticks to me!!

  • I call it the stick thingy

  • thank u soo much im sure it will b much help

  • I ment realized that they come in packages of fake nails

  • I relieved that They also come in packages of fake nails!

  • @simplelittlepleasures ok well I hav tried and tried water marbling and it won't work! What should I do? Should I just not do it or does it count on the brand? I just need to no. Thank u so much -BowChickaWowWow345 =)

  • I saw a vidio wear they used a q tip does that work?

  • @SelenaRoxs11 if you had nothing else but generally I'd recommend something with a sharper point =)

  • I uses to call them cuticle sticks well now I know...

  • So...cocktail stick?

  • @VamLoveAndKisses if it's sharp it should be fine =)

  • oooo Some times they call them the ones for ummm Cuticle Pushers I think

  • I use a pencil

  • Thanks for this video, I figured it was just the same as the wooden cuticle pushers, thanks for the confirmation :-)

  • Thanks!! I got nervous to ask if I could use a toothpick!!!

  • Can I use a chopstick?? It's about as big as it.

  • @GyMnAsTcHiCk223 I think most chopsticks are too blunt, you want something with a fine sharp tip =)

  • @GyMnAsTcHiCk223 use a chop stick same difference lol

  • Cool Thnx

  • @TheShanbop yea u can I use 1 :))

  • You can use one end of a bobby pin or a toothpick like she said

  • i knew what they were i just didnt know that was another name for them =P ive always called them cuticle sticks, and i use the pointy end to get the gook out from under my nails

  • Thank you for doing the video :) I knew what you were talking about when you said orange stick, but I had been wondering why :) I did google it, but didn't find any explanation, so this video did help :) Thanks <3

  • When i dip my nail in and i take it out.all of the design is good but its bumpy, watery and thick :( idk what to do so i was hoping you could help me..i dont know if its the name brand of nail polish i use but there ery weird looking..what can i do ?

  • @TaylorSwiftGal276 I think it sounds like you are using a little too much polish - try using a few less drops. The layer in the water should be very thin =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues i tried it and it workedd :) thanks Colette :D

  • can i just use a pencil?

  • @smiley75976 you can use anything with a fine point =)

  • Question: wats an orange stick? Lol jk

  • There is a kit at Wally World for like a buck and it includes a cheap emory board, clippers and an orange stick and tweezers I believe check it out

  • i can't quite find my previous comment but just wanted to let you know that i got the marbling right after trying to drag on the surface better :) a light touch does it! thanks again for your patience and teaching newbies to nailart such as myself haha :D loving it! :D

  • ok its said "nail care ticks" .. isnt that good packaging >:|

  • can you use a skewer

  • @TheShanbop yes - anything with a fine point will do =)

  • Whats an orange stick?? (hahah)

  • When I dip my nail and then i take it out, the design stays but some drops of water stays on my nail too, and when my nails dry they don't look perfect cause the drops ruin the polish :( what can i do?

  • @barliny24 My 3 main tips to prevent bubbles would be: make sure there are none in the polish before you dip you nail (you can pop those), dip in & out slowly, and make sure to get rid of any water drops on your nail - if they won't drip off, you can use the corner of a paper towel to absorb them. HTH =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues Thank you so much for answering me! I got it so much clear now and I'm definitely gonna do all of your tips nex time I do a water marble, I hope it works :)

Thank you again for answering, you are so great! and my number one guru of nails, thanks!

  • Heh weird, in my country they are called rosenpind = rosenstick :D

  • I think asking what an orange stick is was a valid question. Its not like it says "orange stick" on the package. Cut people some slack.

  • @dietriterocks I agree, I knew what an orange stick was before this but most people call it a cuticle stick (like me) so it's a completely reasonable question in my opinion.

  • it's a stick made from orange wood thats primarily used for nail art. really? people needed to inquire about the obvious? wow, people are so naive, ignorant and way to dependent these days!! :O

  • i use a bamboo skewer..

  • I just read that they were originally made out of orangewood and that's why they're called orange sticks. Simple.

  • I'm in school to become a nail technician and we did cover what an orange wood stick was. It is made from the wood from orange trees. The citrus acid in the wood makes them very sanitary to use.

  • Do you clean your orange stick with acetone after you complete your watermarbling? Does the acetone or polish remover damage the stick and/or leaves residues in the water if you use them again?

  • @DesTondola yes - it doesn't seem to damage the stick, but it also doesn't get it completely clean, the polish will still stain the stick =)

  • i googled what an orange stick was. It said it was a spear-like tool used to pierce oranges.

  • I couldn't find any orange sticks because I was looking for something that said orange sticks...lol! Duh to me huh? I use toothpicks to draw out the design and a chopstick to clean up the excess polish. The word for today is improvise :)

  • Wow! I will try that sometimes soon. It seems very easy when you do it though.

  • I just use a chop stick, it's bigger than a toothpick, cheap, and easy to find

  • When I first saw your videos, I didn't know what an orange stick was, but it's pretty easy to figure out. I use a bbq skewer. Hope you don't see this as spam because I did reference you as the water marble master but I have a video on this account showing marbling with a skewer on short nails.

  • i can never do water marbling, i get the water and make a nice bull's eye but then when i dip my nail in and take it out, the nailpolish slides off and it becomes a gooey mess , do you think its the nail polish im using or am i doing something wrong?

  • @suhsylya I think it sounds like you are using a little too much polish - try using a few less drops. The layer in the water should be very thin & shouldn't have a problem sticking to your nail as long as you are using a base color =)

  • can you use a pencil

  • @cookierocks1000 you can use anything with a fine point =)

  • instead of a dotting thing what else could i use? and what is sallys and where is it located?

  • @shaynatrue for a dotting tool you can substitute like an unbent paper clip or a pencil, depending on what size you are going for - Sallys is a beauty supply store & you can check their locator on their website to see if there are any near you =)

  • I love how you say "so" I am from California so I don't hear that often! lol

  • I use screwers! Much longer and you get a lot in the package

  • I find it sad that you had to make this video!

  • 1 question: do u like justin bieber?

  • @FatimaT714 well I wouldn't call him my favortie but he's OK =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues u should like him, i LOVE HIM

  • u cna get them at any drug store or they come with nail kits!

  • I had never heard of an orange stick before I started watching your videos.. But I think it's because I'm Swedeish and we obviously don't speak english, haha. I always seem to learn something from you, and then when my friends ask me a question I sound really smart.. or at least know what I'm talking about :)

  • you have very long nails

do you wear fake nails? ......................

and if you don't wear fake nails do your nails ever like chip off?

  • @cookierocks1000 my nails are natural - I rarely get a full break, if I get like a tear or crack I use silk wraps to do a patch =)

  • Oh its a one of those, i never knew that before, i knew what they were i just didnt know what they were called, now i do.

  • woah. i didn't know you had dark skin! i always thought you were white from the pictures of your hands XD

    p.s. no offence, though. just a random observation - i'm yellow. :D

  • The bus comes always on time to your videos! :O)

  • The first thing that cross my mind was... "3 min talking about an orange stick??! jeez" xD

  • omg ppl dont know what an orange stick is,,did they take art? wow but i love how you explain everything your very informative my marble came out a lot better since i been watching your vids

  • ORANGE

    STICKS

    R

    COOL

  • woo! those are the exact same ones that i have :D

  • Orange sticks were once made out of orangewood are now made out of birch. They may be hard for someone who has never heard of them to find because the industry no longer refers to them as orange sticks- usually they are now called cuticle pushers and I have talked to the managers of beauty departments who don't know what they are ...

  • Yay I learned somethin' knew. Even though I knew what an orange stick was, I didn't know they could be both flat on both sides. Thankies!

  • I never heard of an orange stick until I started watching ur vids.

  • thanks that helped

  • u look pretty:)

  • a skewer works

  • lol, thats kinda cool actually.... i never heard of an orange stick before you :) maybe i should try drawing on the surface more to get my marbles better.. i tend to use a sateh stick... like the long ones for bbq-ing?.... i think maybe my issue is dipping in too deep when drawing the design in the polish... i thought the orange stick hadsome magic to it.. sigh... shame the dream stops here LOL

  • @GreenEnvyDesigns dipping too deep may be part of the problem - you want to use a very light touch, just barely to the polish & drag on the surface =)

  • What's a toothpick and where can I buy one???????????? j/k I can't believe so many people asked you about orange sticks... Seriously, people. Google much?

  • @sakuradelia LMAO XD

  • Wow.....I'm really surprised u got so many questions about orange sticks......guess I just thought everyone knew what they were. Thanks for the video tho :)

  • Plastic straws work for cleaning up water marbling, and toothpicks work for making the designs. That's what I use because it's really cheap and you can just throw them out after :)

  • Did you ever have short nails? If so how long did it take you to grow yours that long?My nails are pretty long but I am just curious.=)

  • @beatriceyoung13 I've maintained them long for quite a while but they were much shorter & uneven when I first started my blog, so over 2 years ago =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues what did you use to strenghten them...i need strength cuz my nails are soo flexiable they blend and break easily lol =D

  • @beatriceyoung13 I try to keep my nails moisturized, lots of lotion & cuticle oil & I also take a biotin supplement – you can check out my Nail Maintenance vid in the Tips & Trick playlist for my full routine. I do occasionally get a tear or break but you can check out my tutorial on silk wrap patching for how I save those nails =) I do "Naked Nails" posts on my blog every month or so where I talk more about like all the specific products I'm currently using.

  • i thought maybe the sticks were just orange colour so u were calling them orange sticks for fast reference and that the camera made the colour funny...

  • people, can't you just google it:D

  • @PufftheMagicDream LOL, I want to say that SO OFTEN for some questions =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues well, you should, i think you're being overly-nice wasting your precious time on explaining things like that:D i love your tutorials though;)

  • are your nails really that long? or are they fake nails?

  • @stripedflipflops01 theyr real

  • @stripedflipflops01 Those are her real nails!

  • @stripedflipflops01 my nails are natural =) you can check out my Nail Maintenance vid in the Tips & Trick playlist for my full routine.

  • Thanks Colette!! Still have to look for some, Now I know all thanks to you:)

  • @MissMarvelousMani she said in the video... its madeof orange-wood. orange wood isnt a color of wood its a type...

  • How do you clean the stick after you marble? Or do you just use one stick per water marble?

  • @TheBeccaBraindead nail polish remover

  • @TheBeccaBraindead I wipe what I can on a paper towel, then dip in polish remover & wipe some more. I reuse them until they break or are seriously stained =)

  • @Passionate4Nails no actually you cant because they are not pointy

  • @cindyliu193h yes they are....

  • Hahaa A 4 minute video about orange wood sticks. No but it is seriously very kind of you to make this video for the people who didn't know what it was..

  • you sound really sleepy..

  • @bangximdead Always LOL =)

  • im dying to know what is your opinion on the sally hansen's crackle... PLEASE respond!! thank u!! :))

  • @DarkAngelHair I really like the formula - I'm actually wearing some right now, black over pink =)
