For instance you would have to ingest over one kilo of zinc at one time to die from it. Burning zinc while welding on galvanized steel without adequate ventilation certainly is dangerous, but that is zinc oxide, not zinc on it's own that is poisoning your body.

I own a space case which is pretty high end. Some of my friends have cheaper grinders and they pretty much work the same. The only thing you need to be careful about when buying a grinder is to make sure that it's 4 stage grinder meaning there are 4 parts to the grinder. 4 stage grinders have an area to grind bud, an area the bud falls to and collects, as well as one more area that can collect the dust that falls to the bottom which is highly concentrated thc crystals.

I also own a space case grinder too and i agree with what you said. It's been just as sharp as day 1 after 2 years, but i always have a problem with getting the top to spin smoothly due to too much sticky keif accumulating on the rim of my grinder x_x

By grinding up the large buds, creating smaller shredded up marijuana, you create more surface area. A good comparison would be a single basketball compared with a whole bucket full of ping pong balls. A bucket of ping pong balls can spread everywhere versus a basketball that can only go one place. Grinded up bud releases thc everywhere versus one nug of bud that just burns and releases thc from it self.

another good comparison would be saw dust compared with a solid log. Saw dust burns way faster than a big solid log would, even if the sawdust was made from a tree the same size as the log. By grinding up bud, your bowl burns more efficiently and is easier to kill, getting you higher faster. THAT is the reason why everyone should grind up their buds (:

Chromium crushers are good CHEAP grinders that totally get the job done fine. Space Case is just top dog premium quality. You ca tell the difference when you rub your fingers across the tops of the diamond blades. The awesome grinders will catch your fingers. The not-so-sharp grinders are just smooth to the touch.
