I think I just had a WTF? moment. I've never seen her land her handspring full on beam perfect like that before will someone tell me why she didn't go to the olympics?
I hate the wrist flicking: its true, a lot of the American gymnasts do it. Notably Nastia, Chellsie Memmel and Hollie. It looks awful, it doesnt look "artistic" at all.

I really hate her wrist flicking all the time. It REALLY takes away from her routine. I don't recall her doing that when she was younger but her gymnastics looked alot better back in 2001.
did u know shes competing for oklahoma university???? 3 years after she couldnt go to the olmypics she came to ou and couldnt even barley do a kip but the coach said she was out of shape and she whiped her into gear to where she could compete again.
Flicking wrists is not about bending the wrists, I agree. I didn't realize how bad it had become until I started seeing the g ymnasts of the 70's and 80's and how much more relaxed the wrist positions were, yet still with purpose.
I think you're referring to her wrists pointing downwards? I agree, it's really distracting and takes away from the choreography (which is a shame, because she's gorgeous to watch). But I've noticed that many American gymnasts do this (most notably Shannon Miller, Chellsie Memmel and Nastia Liukin). Maybe it's a trademark of their training...
Well, when you consider that the dismount probably cost her about 0.3, it makes sense that she only got about 0.1-0.2 over Carly with a fall. Carly's gymnastics is also cleaner overall and less prone to deductions.

I agree! Even if it's showing off it gives an interesting aspect to the routine.

I agree about her wrists...they break up her body line when she flicks them...eh.

I totally agree with you; it is just too much.

when u think of it she only got like .1 .2 over carly when she had a fall but that doesnt seem right
colin8129 4 years ago
those scores seem so low, especially when you look at the types of scores the Courtneys got, and Carly after falling off the beam...

swimt2006 5 years ago
I think 9.45, but I'm not exactly sure.

If I recall, she scored a 9.45 on day 1, and then a 9.5 on day 2.
