I just scanned through Fractal Time, I couldn't find anything that really caught my eye, and there seemed to be a lot of loose language . If you want a proper theory of 'fractal time' you're going to have to explain it from the start in the best languages possible - something around conventional math makes sense. Answers to this stuff should be as Simple as Possible, but No Simpler?
I'm reading the book and think that the theory does make some sense. Well, that was a really good sales pitch and a wonderful piece of video editing to sell everyone on this idea, but I'm not buying it or any other book for that matter. I don't need a book to tell me about the future. Call me when you have something concrete, till then, try doing something about handeling the coporations and greed on the planet it instead of selling books about the end of the world.
It's not the end of the world it is a major shift in consciousness & as it is too complex to explain & attain the understanding in a 10, 20, or 1,000 hour video, the book, yes is being marketed, but to those on the same level of awareness can use it as a reference tool.
On the other hand Terence McKenna may have had the same ideas a couple of decades ago, but Mr. Braden is only expressing it as he understands this subject to reach another generation as time continues onward & outward...

So, his explanation is incorrect. Since the time he is talking about is linear time, in which the past is not part of the present moment, in fact, the past he is talking about does not exist, at all, and neither does the future. So, huh?
Its difficult to come up with any realistic model of what might happen becasue theres just so many theories. But i personally think there will be some kind of a global catastrophe bringing abuot the demise of all social and cultural connections. Then the human race will find itself naked before its own psyche. And the revolution of consciousness begins to take form. If anyhitngs going to happen my bets on that :)

Sigh I just came up with the idea of what I wanted to call "fractal time" and it turns out it the word has already been taken, my idea was that all of time and space is composed of one multidimensional fractal which allows the illusion of time to stretch infinitely into the past and infinitely in the future. Probably complete bull... but no more so than his use but in my opinion more interesting.

I just scanned through Fractal Time, I couldn't find anything that really caught my eye, and there seemed to be a lot of loose language . If you want a proper theory of 'fractal time' you're going to have to explain it from the start in the best languages possible - something around conventional math makes sense. But to see this video and realize that THIS IS THE OFFICIAL PRESENTATION OF HIS BOOK BY HIMSELF, makes me think twice before reading the next page. I know what fractals are and their applications to science and technology. I'm obsessed with fractals myself, and while I do see them in everything while I'm tripping, I'm able to notice, when I'm sober, that it's just an illusion. Just look at reality. I don't need a book to tell me about the future. It's not the end of the world it is a major shift in consciousness & as it is too complex to explain & attain the understanding in a 10, 20, or 1,000 hour video, the book, yes is being marketed, but to those on the same level of awareness can use it as a reference tool.
On the other hand Terence McKenna may have had the same ideas a couple of decades ago, but Mr. Braden is only expressing it as he understands this subject to reach another generation as time continues onward & outward...

Whether Terence was the first or not, it was still before Greg Braden who is calling it NEW in this video. It is not new. That's my point. McKenna could well have been the first. He was definitely the first to have theories of fractal time published anyway, and he claims that this theory is the only original idea he's come up with :)

He said that moments of the past are repeating, and so he calls it fractal time? That's just wrong.
Fractal dimensions are defined as relatively greater or lesser resolutions, or dimensions, of the same thing, or in this case, of the same moment of time.
So, his explanation is incorrect. Since the time he is talking about is linear time, in which the past is not part of the present moment, in fact, the past he is talking about does not exist, at all, and neither does the future. So, huh?

i dont think his stuff is bullshit i think hes got alot important things to say, it all makes logical sense but yeah he talks about 2012 alot but even he says its not the "end date" its period of time leading up to and after its sort of a calculated area of time to were we will reach or should reach a point of evolution
