Altough people call it a flying coffin but for flyers its a must fly aircraft. I was there in the INDO-US joint AF exercise in gwalior. I was in MIGs flying against US F-15s . Believe it or not altough we were spread thin but we gave them hell and just dont talk about Mirages and SU-30 they just chewed out those Fs.

You are quite wrong here. I fly the Su-30 MKI and I must say that it is equal and far superior in certain aspects to the F-15 E/F in all aspects. The MiG-21s despite their golden years were highly acclaimed by the USAF pilots during the COPE INDIA 2004 and onwards.
Due to MiG-21's small size, it has a small RCS making it difficult to be targeted on radars. the Su-30 MKI is a very potent platform that outclassed even the Typhoon in our wargames with the RAF. Ask any British pilot.

Iraq used some during the first Gulf War and they were beaten with by F-15 and Uk Tornado with relative ease. IMO tech helps but its also about the pilot behind the stick that makes the most difference in a dogfight. Realistically, F-15 and even F-16 would most likely engage from long distance using fire and forget missiles. Human pilots can't evade a computer.

@nikuskumar MiG-21 components that failed the IAF were purchased from 3rd party vendors during the 90s when USSR collapsed and Russia was weak. Hence there was no reliability of the parts and this is what caused them to crash so often. MiG-21 was the power demon of its time and it is our government's fault not to replace them in the early 2000s itself and kept delaying with scams and corruptions always.
