Thanks! This video was extremely helpful! Even though I have an HP, everything still worked out just fine. And, now, I know how to change the keyboard on just about any laptop!!! :D Thanks again!
k i dont know what to do i think i need a whole new keyboard but i dont know where to buy it but my problem is that my delete left/right page up/page down and only down dont work what do i do
@hockeyfreak3128 better off buying whole keyboard, you can get them from ebay just type in your laptop make and model and the word "keyboard" and a list will come up.
Thank you. Very easy to follow. Dude you just saved me some serious cash.
I found the replacement keyboard for like 8 bucks on Amazon, It came in two days and it took me about 15 minutes to install the new keyboard. Thanks dude.
i accidently snaped of the O key and not allowed a replace i still have the key but i have a compaq so wot do i do my mam and dad do not know but they will ground me if they find out so wot do i do
Hey i took my keyboard out, cleaned it, let it dry over night, but when i plugged it back in the keys act all strange. When i press a key once the computer reads it as 3 hits. What to do? Thanks
Thank you, for the excellent instruction, super clear video, super slow insturction, on step by step. Without your video I had no idea how to do it, and not sure if I will be doing it. Even that your video is for a dell laptop, believe it or not I did it on my Acer Aspire 3500, following your instructions wich are pretty much the same with the expetion that the screws of the inside of keyboard instead of been on the corner, at my laptop was in the middle, everithing ealse was the same.
I am wondering the same thing....I would think it should be so easy as just replacing key by key but I don't know where to buy them, I much prefer actual keys to stickers....
noooooooooooob, black screen problems? I just completely took out a laptop motherboard and everything attached to it, replaced the hard drive, the screen hinges and wiring, and the keyboard, then put it back together and installed my version of linux on it......... compared to...
thanks that was very helpful. I managed to replace my keyboard on a dell inspiron 1545, the only difference is that you have to remove screws from behind the battery to release the plastic cover on the front, you have saved me a fortune
You might want to retrace your steps and make sure that everything is back where it should be. Easy to miss plugging back in a cable or something may have become loose during the procedure.
@senderovision when it beeps it mean theres a key being pressed while its booting up i accidently did that i was resting my hand on the keys and it stay black and beep so ye rehook ya keyboars all back up and make sure nuttins stuck
the most annoying part of any laptop repair is not knowing, even with official documentation, is when your meeting resistance, like a snap in, or if you missed a screw or something else holding the plastic pieces together. your not always sure if your going to break it or successfully 'unsnap' a clip.
Do we have to do our repairs in an all black room on a wooden table? Idk if i've got one of those....

Next time, I'm getting a DELL for sure. ASUS is pretty ok, but DELL is a whole lot easier to dismantle & replace parts with.
