What I find interesting is that they have hate for a country that did not oppress them. I mean Germany did very well in the post War world, a world governed on rules, whether rightly or wrongly, have been American forumlated.

@kirwelouis Dem kann man nichts aber auch gar nichts hinzu fügen.Habe lange in Südamerika gelebt.An alles was die denken sind Autos, die deutsche Autobahn,Technik usw. und sie wissen zum Teil mehr von der deutschen Geschichte als die Deutschen selbst.Abgesehen von ein Paar Jahren zu Beginn, des letzten Jarhunderts, da ist jeder Deutsche Experte,inclusive Scham,Schande und Betroffenheit mit jarhundertelanger Wiedergutmachung.
Das waren auch meine Erfahrungen. Deutschland = Fußball, Autos, Bier, Strassen ohne Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung.! Ob London, Bangkok oder Brisbane, niemand hat mir je den Adolf vorgehalten. Ich habe 2 Jahre in Frankreich gewohnt, wohne grenznah und habe ständig mit Franzosen zu tun. Die betrachten uns als ihre Freunde obwohl wir uns mit denen über Jahrhunderte die Schädel eingeschlagen haben und nicht nur 1939-45. Für die ist der Scheiß vorbei, wir sollten das endlich auch so sehen!
Der zweite Weltkrieg ist eigentlich erst etwas mehr als 60 Jahre her. Und bei da Peanuts von "Wiedergutmachung" zu sprechen ist eigentlich schon wieder zynisch. Aber Leute wi du wollen sich nun mal einfach als die Opfer eines großen Unrechts gegen Deutsche darstellen.
Als ich im Alter von 12 Jahren, Urlaub auf Ibiza gemacht habe, wurde ich von englischen Kindern mit dem Hitlergruß "begrüßt"! Ich habe allerdings auch Amerikaner, Engländer oder Südafrikaner getroffen die auf deine Aussage zutreffen und kein Wort über "damals" verloren haben.

Wie du selbst gesagt hast, waren das Kinder und die britische Klatschpresse bewegt sich noch unter Bildzeitungsniveau. Entsprechend intelligent sind die Leute, die sie ernst nehmen. Aber egal wo du in GB bist, wenn du als Deutscher in den Pub gehst reden die Leute mit dir lieber über Fußball oder die EU als über Hitler. Das waren mal meine Erfahrungen und ich war früher regelmäßig dort.

What I find interesting is that they have hate for a country that did not oppress them. I mean Germany did very well in the post War world, a world governed on rules, whether rightly or wrongly, have been American forumlated.

Das waren auch meine Erfahrungen. Deutschland = Fußball, Autos, Bier, Strassen ohne Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung.! Ob London, Bangkok oder Brisbane, niemand hat mir je den Adolf vorgehalten. Ich habe 2 Jahre in Frankreich gewohnt, wohne grenznah und habe ständig mit Franzosen zu tun. Die betrachten uns als ihre Freunde obwohl wir uns mit denen über Jahrhunderte die Schädel eingeschlagen haben und nicht nur 1939-45. Für die ist der Scheiß vorbei, wir sollten das endlich auch so sehen!

Als ich im Alter von 12 Jahren, Urlaub auf Ibiza gemacht habe, wurde ich von englischen Kindern mit dem Hitlergruß "begrüßt"! Ich habe allerdings auch Amerikaner, Engländer oder Südafrikaner getroffen die auf deine Aussage zutreffen und kein Wort über "damals" verloren haben.

Wie du selbst gesagt hast, waren das Kinder und die britische Klatschpresse bewegt sich noch unter Bildzeitungsniveau. Entsprechend intelligent sind die Leute, die sie ernst nehmen. Aber egal wo du in GB bist, wenn du als Deutscher in den Pub gehst reden die Leute mit dir lieber über Fußball oder die EU als über Hitler. Das waren mal meine Erfahrungen und ich war früher regelmäßig dort.

By the way, the word "England" is German and the word "Anglo" as well - they originate in Anglia and refer to the Angles, who were a Germanic people from what is today Northern Germany. They colonised post-Roman Britain and founded the first ANGLO-SAXON kingdoms.
