PAX TV lasted only seven and a half years. For a TV show that's fine; but for a TV station that's pathetic! Well, what do ya expect when you play shitty ass TV shows with very few to no exceptions? You'll get your ass thrown off!
@statefairshows not me! That station made me want to jab a linoleum knife in my throat because it was so boring and bland; the weather channel was more entertaining! Then in June or July 2005, good riddance PAX TV! but hey, no offense you've got your likes and tastes and I've got mine.
Really, and you have solid evidence of there being "millions" who were "bored to tears"? I don't think it's worth all the energy you've been putting in here to bitch and moan. PAX provided a family-friendly alternative, with a religious slant, for quite a while, and I actually loved their programming choices in the early years. Later on, though, with NBC getting involved to help with cash flow, their programs (both original and acquired) definitely cheapened, and made them look desperate.
@MADDOG6400 with the exceptions of Supermarket Sweep, Shop Til You Drop, and the Super Mario Cartoons, PAX TV bored me as well as millions of others to tears and only 10% of the 50,000,000 Americans found that crap entertainment!
With the exception of Supermarket Sweep and Shop til You Drop as well as the Super Mario Bros. Cartoons, PAX TV was mediocre and bland; low ratings and inevitable cancellation ensued.
PAX TV one of the most boring stations on earth and July 2005 somebody with a brain and better taste in entertainment gave that bland as toast station the boot!
@thehoosierfortheUK Hey that's... completly true. In fact, I think the only shows that kept me watching the channel are supermarket sweep and shop til you drop.
@TheThirdchoice5 Same here! Supermarket sweep and Shop Til You Drop were the only shows I watched as well and I liked them; everything else was so boring that they made watching grass grow look entertaining.
@TheThirdchoice5 The one show that I hated was Candid Camera! FYI: it was cancelled because Peter Funt did a prank involving a fake x-ray machine and this man named Phillip Zelneck somehow got injured by it; because of that, both Peter Funt and Candid Camera were sued each having to pay $150,000.00 a total of $300,000.00 and Mr. Zelneck won and after that, Candid Camera bit the dust and Thank God!
Only about two or three years later, WVPX (formerly WAKC) returned to broadcasting regular local newscasts using reporters from WKYC. Unfortunately, it didn't last.
As part of that agreement with WKYC, WVPX moved their master control to WKYC's studios from Warrensville Heights. Paxson abandoned the old WAKC (nee WAKR-TV) studios months after dropping all local programming and the ABC affiliation.
Even after that agreement with WKYC ended about four years ago... they're still at 1333 Lakeside. Along with SportsTime Ohio.

Although, this channel was pretty boring, it still had amazing shows like: Supermarket Sweep and Shop 'Tll You Drop.
Did anyone remember the Super Mario Bros. being on PAX in the 90s?
