if you like this, i'd definitely recommend the entire album, not an insipid cut on it. low down ency groove goin' totally in the pocket. i suppose this precise sound and mood was inspired by the universally admired Somethin' Else album on the Blue Note Label, with Julian Cannonball Adderley and Miles Davis, Hank Jones (p), Sam Jones (b), and Art Blakey (d), one of almost every jazz critic's top 5 albums of all time list. very good sounding on vinyl if you can find it.
Richard Wyands' tasteful piano comping: as great as anything I've heard by Wynton Kelly, arguably the greatest piano accompanist in jazz.
