  • This album is amazing!!

  • This song is their crowning glory.

  • I think the thing no one has said How Freakin Awesome they were through their whole Transition from 80's Hair Metal to friggin Eatin Dirt Mosh Music...Not many pull it off....

  • Power Metal - Pantera's best and last album.

  • Getcha Pull!

  • The best Pantera's album. Better than Cowboys From Hell.

  • why does everyone forget glam metal PanterA...it aint as good as groove but still good

  • @THEFLYINGREDNECK This sounds like thrash to me. And pantera's groove shit is inconsistent.

  • @shockofhyperbole Honestly, this is thrash. They have a glam look, but they sound thrash with the riffs, drum beats, and it sounds influenced with punk.

  • @THEFLYINGREDNECK We both agree, though I'd say the punk influence didn't really start showing until Cowboys and didn't really dominate their sound until Vulgar.

  • @shockofhyperbole Actually, punk is the main source to thrash. Metallica's "Seek & Destroy" is pure thrash with heavy metal licks and same goes for Slayer's "Angel Of Death".

  • @Malikarcanum I can't like your comment anymore Captain! The internet doesn't have the POWA!

  • @999N0t3str34k What's that smell?.... Oh that's you getting BUUUURNED!!! ohhhhhh

  • is this power? ? ?

  • ladies and gentlemen, this is a total fucking ripoff from the following song. Attacker - Tourtured Existence

  • @999N0t3str34k Well, considering that song came out in 2004, that makes you a complete & total dunce.

  • This is Panteras best song

  • @lindgrenland no its not stfu

  • 3:42-3:50,Immigrant song anyone?

  • Pantera in the 80s did have a glam look, but the music was not at all glam metal,

  • @VideoGameMetal01 They were ultra vulgar hairspray abusers. Once.....

  • i have a better question. Why the fuck are you guys fighting?

  • 1 baldy woman is jealous

  • This IS Pantera at their best. Got a Power Metal CD in my collection from back in the day signed by all the original members. It was a bad-ass show and an amazing time in metal history.

  • Glamtera!!! Nice ;)

  • almost sounds likes megadeth so far so good so what esp 502

  • @gogetfuckeddd

    cool story bro

  • You all need to shut the fuck up, smoke a bowl and chill the fuck out, holy fuck...

  • this riff is kins like 13 steps to nowhere...bitchin

  • Power Metal sounds like kickass Cowboys from Hell b-sides

  • This song reminds me of old Megadeth stuff.

  • @RigbyBullnut Agree

  • @RigbyBullnut Reminds me of Stuff off Ride the Lightning album by Metallica

  • @MrThrashKing You've got a fair point, it has some similar elements to RTL, but mostly it reminds me of old Megadeth.

  • @RigbyBullnut Wake Up Dead

  • @nirvanaunpluged Yeah a bit of Wake Up Dead, with an intro similar to Set the World Afire.

  • @RigbyBullnut ashes in your mouth

  • Their last good album

  • @SlayerVenomDeath92 ur the biggest fail...i dont like slipknot...their a good band but not awesome.

Shut the fuck up instead of say shit

  • @Fuck1nMetal @SlayerVenomDeath92 Both of you dumbass's, shut up and listen to the music.

  • kick ass

  • Thank God they changed from glam to metal!!!

  • @Xavmasterrr1478 maybe they looked glam before power metal but their music was straightfoward heavy metal similar to Priest, much heavier than poison and pretty boy floyd crap.

  • NWOBHM Pantera RULES!

  • @creativdk Last I checked this wasn't rap. hmm...

  • Shame they never continued in this more thrash-oriented style. I suppose they were a good 5 years too late when they changed from glam.

  • One People does not like GLAMTERA !!

  • CRAP

  • 4:55 blast beats?

  • @electricwizard500 i would like to think but I believes its 16th note hi-hats and snare variations like RLRL etc between hi-hats and snare but either way i think because vinnie is a tank, he can blast

  • man this is badass it reminds me of megadeth

  • wow this is bad ass! i can totaly see this on cowboys from hell

  • @bag04u I think you're wrong. One of their worst albums? It's their most acclaimed album friend. Maybe you don't like it but it's the unanomous fan and critic favorite. Trendkill and RTS are fun albums but are underwelming compared to FBD and VDOP to me. more memorable songs and riffs and stronger lyrics.

  • when i first discovered pantera's early catalogue of material, i almost couldnt believe it was true. once i heard a guitar solo it was undeniably dimebag playing. you can spot his solos anywhere. at first i was confused at how i should feel while listening to the terry glaze albums, but after a few weeks i came to love it. this was about 10 years ago when audiogalaxy was the best download site ever.

  • yeahh yeahh yeahhh the great song yeahh

  • This song could almost fit right into CFH, it's that damn heavy. I listened to this album a year ago and for the first three tunes I was like..."Outside of Dime's leads, this doesn't sound much like 90s Pantera." Then this song came crashing in, and I was like "THIS is fucking PANTERA!" Head-banging thrash-groove awesomeness. What a legacy Dimebag has left for all of us. Call me a softy, but I get a little sad every time a Pantera song ends. It's been 6 years, but I can't help it.

  • this cd reminds of a heavier, more violent version of van halen. its so badass.

  • this song reminds me a lot of megadeth.

  • @dimeslimeguy haha yeah it reminds me of megadeth too!

  • Every day, millions of Americans suffer from Post-Pantera Syndrome, a debilitating condition that can hinder everyday life. Unfortunately, the only known cure to this condition was murdered 6 years ago, but treatments to help prevent further progression do exsist. Please visit Pantera's Youtube channel and/or website for further information and treatment options.

This message has been brought to you by Metal Health Organization.

  • This is one of Pantera's best songs. Its a shame they would never even acknowledge preCFH material.

  • God This Riff is Wicked SICK

  • As much as I favor CFH as the definitive Pantera album, this one is also very fun to listen to. I like Phil much better than Terry for a vocalist. And I really love the powerful thrash elements used in this album.

  • god i love the riffs in this song

  • Totally kix ass,,2 Thumbs Up !!! This is my song for the week !!!

  • "Wreckless crew abandon me" - awesome lyrics. Combining "reckless abandon" and "wrecking crew". I like this album more than any of their future releases. Too bad the name of the game is being directed by the record companies.

  • pantera to me sound more better in the 90's then the 80's metallica, megadeth, anthrax, judas priest etc. style!!!!!!

  • @MeYouView

FUCK YOU FAGGOT. 90s pantera sucked cowboys from hell was their last good album. 1980's metal is where it's a at how dare you make such a shitty comparison.

  • @brosrstupe Wow relax dude. The guy was just stating his opinion. It has nothing to do with you. Whats sounds good to you may not sound good to others.

  • @MeYouView That's because you're probably a groove metal poseur.

Errywun nos groove metal is shit.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow dude, groove metal is not for posers dude, just because you didnt like 90's pantera doesn't mean you gotta call the pople who like 90's pantera posers. 80's and 90's pantera was amazing. The more I listen to 80's, the more I love it. Pantera is good no matter what decade they played in. modern groove is definitely for posers because they are trying to be groove but pantera did it right. theres plenty of others that did too but they perfected it and made it a thrash style.

  • @MusicJamin330 Groove is just an offshoot of thrash. And a shitty one. The only good groove metal band I've heard is Exhorder. It's, all around, a shitty genre most bands turn to when they lack talent or the desire to be creative and want a quick buck. Example: Exodus with Rob Dukes. Or Sepultura when they dropped their kick ass Death/Thrash sound and picked up that shitty groove one.

Simplistic, repetative and boring riffs, that is groove.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow yea, I agree somewhat. the new exodus isn't terribvle, rob dukes isn't the greatest I don't think but he's pretty good. zetro was the best for me. I like old sepultura. thats good too. atleast they still are metal to an extent. when pantera was groove though,. they had some awesome riffs man. like look up regular people (conceit) or cowboys from hell. there are so many more that are amazing but you know what I mean. out of the whole groove metal genre, pantera was my favorite.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow I think you just live in the past and don't have any sense of rhythm.. you're probably some poor old loser who likes shitty bands JUST BECAUSE they're old and unpopular, like you....Pantera and Sepultra kick-ass, got rich with riffs you couldn't think of, and reminded people like you that you can't perform. Go suck a dick in your mother's basement.

  • @Thanos700 No band I like is unpopular. They're all fairly popular amongst hardcore Metal fans; people like me who actually know more than ten bands and, y'know, own records, go to shows, etc. etc. and know the music.

And no one gives a fuck about popularity. This is Metal. Not Pop. Just because a band is popular doesn't mean it's good.

Sepultura DID kick ass. When they were playing their good stuff, up to and including Arise. Then came the groove and they started sucking.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Pantera made great groove music. Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond driven are masterpieces. Southern Trendkill has some amazing tracks too.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Exhorder are nothing special at all dude. If you cant see that pantera's groove music was more artistic then thats sad. Exhorder's instrumentation was VERY sub par. Their rhythm section was nowhere near as strong as Pantera's and their guitarist isn't a quarter of how talented dime was. And pantera wasn't repetive at all. They had a wide variety of riff styles an rhythmic approaches. Exhorder has never made me want to get up and move or raise my fist.

  • @codebabe You're also saying that Vulgar is a great album and that it's better than Trendkill. You're statements are invalid because it's already clear you have no taste and are just incredibly wrong.

Trendkill was the only good Groove album Pantera put out.

How you can call their lazy, half-assed riffs and groove metal "artistic" is beyond me. It's not my fault you are immune to good music, perhaps if you got all the shit out of your ears you would be more moved?

  • Comment removed

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow I don't think I'm incredibly wrong, I think you're an incredible piece of shit and you should fuck off for taking things so personally. Fuckin crybaby. I feel sorry for your ears. Exhorders production is balls, their riffs have zero direction and their lead work sucks. Pantera's riffs GROOVED, hence the word 'groove', you can physicall move to it. Exhorder often sounds like a trainwreck. Kyle from exhorder himself said that pantera were a harder working more talented band.

  • @codebabe Incorrect. Every song, riff, album, has a groove to it. Saying it's Groove Metal because it had a groove is like saying every single band played Groove Metal.

Groove Metal, post-Thrash, really, is the reaction to Thrash.

As in the slowed-down, dumbed-down, usually lacking the flurry of riffs that had been in every Metal genre since Heavy Metal first came from the Black Sabbath.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Youre acting as if all Pantera's songs are slow and simple. VDP and CFH have shit that is very fast and hard. For instance 'Rise' or 'Art of shredding". I love Sabbath to death, but Pantera have riffs that are MUCH harder to play, yet you call Pantera lazy. Pantera's textures were innovative and memorable and the solos killed. Even still, not all metal needs to be virtuosic. Btw, Sabbath were quite simple. The flurry of riffs youre referring to didn't come about til Maiden.

  • @codebabe lol Nevermore. Worst band, Sanctuary was better.

I wouldn't even consider lumping Cowboys from Hell with their groove metal shit. It's a tolerable album and Vulgar Display of Power was a major let-down next to it, as was Far Beyond Driven. How anyone who is more than just a general/casual Metal-listener can think it's good is beyond me. Great Southern Trendkill, though.. That was a great album and one of the few Groove Metal albums everyone should check out.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow I like Nevermore for Jeff Loomis primarily, but their production is amazing. Trendkill to me is a lot more nu-metal sounding than their prior records though I love it. Far Beyond Driven was INSANELY innovative dude. The riffing style and dime's guitar tone were the first of their kind on that album. I'm broken, Shedding Skin, 25 Years, Becoming, WAY ahead of their time. Granted it influenced TONS of shitty bands, but so did Alice in Chains, who were an amazing band.

  • @codebabe Jeff Loomis, like Dimebag, spends most of his time soloing and very little time on riffs, as shown by Nevermore's lack of riffs (which is one of Pantera's problems too.)

Trendkill nu-metal? hahahahahahahahahahaha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Oh god. That's a laugh. A big, big laugh. Your credibility is no more.

Innovative for what? All the good sub-genres of Metal had already been created, solidifed and perfected before Pantera even started releasing Groove Metal albums.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Yes nu metal. Listen to his accent on Floods in his singing "Wash away the floood" Bands like Drowning Pool got serious influence from that singing style. Your credibility has always been NIL because you think that Vulgar Display of Power is slow and simple. Its not. The riffs are insane.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow AND I NEVER SAID TRENDKILL WAS NU METAL IN THE FIRST PLACE. I said that it was CLOSER to that style than the rest of their early groove stuff. Again, taking things out of context, THEN you put it back on me in an insulting way. THIS MAKES YOUR CREDIBILITY NIL when you're just being an asshole.

  • @codebabe Except there's nothing nu-metal about it at all.

The vocals on Vulgar Display of Power have more in common with Nu-Metal and metalcore, he nearly raps in No Goood (Attack The Radical), while most of the vocals on Trendkill are black-metal influenced.

There's nothing insane about the riffs on Vulgar Display of Power at all. You must be dim-witted or easily amused to be amazed by those riffs.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow I'm speaking mostly of his singing(not screaming) and the riffs on trendkill There is A LOT more open note droning there than Vulgar. The riffs on Vulgar require really clean picking attack and and muting(Demons Be Driven). Riffs can get much more tech, but the riffs on Power Metal require about the same skill level and you're impressed by that album. If you will notice, you had to tag a personal attack in there against me didn't you? Not very mature, now stop being a troll.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow When I use the word insane i'm speaking not just in terms of speed. Riffs don't have to be absurdly technical to be insane. Just listen to the bridge riff in War Pigs by sabbath, to me thats insane because of the attack and conviction in the music. I hear that for VDOP. I really wish we could just end this because we will never agree and I've seen your page and youre a troll who goes around doing this on a lot of pages. Clearly I AM NOT the problem. Grow up.

  • @codebabe I wasn't using insane it terms of speed, either.

There is nothing remarkable about any of the riffs on VDOP. Nothing insane, either. I wasn't using an attack, I simply stated, you'd have to be easily amused to find them insane because there's nothing outrightly remarkable on them.

You're using one song, compared to two full albums that sound more like cut and paste metalcore vocals, whoop-di-do.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow ok VDOP is one fucking awesome ass album and you dont have to have difficult ass songs to be insane i mean listen to walk then tell me thats not a fucking insane song. and No Good has that certain groove to it and they "rapping" style fits the song perfectly. so stop being a trolling faggot

  • @moko9hoko Oh man, if you actually think Walk is an insane sone you really have no right to argue anything. It is one of their worse songs. Only the blindest of the blind fanboys have yet to realize that.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow and i have no right to argue why? you dont have to have the fastest songs or most technical solo's to be insane. ACDC is a great band and have the most simple riffs ever. Pantera is fucking amazing as is walk and regular people or no good. and explain to me how walk is a terrible song since your so fuckin smart?

  • @moko9hoko Because Walk is a horrible song. Even Pantera fans realize that unless they're, as I said, the blindest of the blind fanboys.

Shitty lyrics, the most generic and worst riffs, Phil's horrible vocals. It's the anthem for dim-witted wannabe tough guys everywhere.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow you know i think you're one of those people stuck in the 80's. pantera will kick your ass. everything panter is kick ass even there stuff with terry glaze. walk is the most simple badass riff that i bet you couldnt even play. phill is a better vocalist than rob halford and bruce dickinson to me. hail fuckin pantera. FUck the non believers!

  • @moko9hoko I'm stuck in good music, from the earliest rock 'n' roll to the newest Sludge and Crust Punk. Not the 80's. Walk is still a horrible and generic song. If you actually knew metal you would not be calling that a badass riff. Simple is great, but Pantera simple wasn't.

You are even more stupid if you think Phil is a good vocalist, let alone better than Rob or Bruce (Paul Di'anno was better. Phil has, probably, some of the worst vocals in Metal.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow explain how his vocals suck for one and 2 you still never explained how walk sucks?

  • @moko9hoko You're talking to someone who like crust punk, or even knows what it is. Fuck him, not literally xD

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow fuck off man. let people like what they want. I sure as fuck wouldnt want all my likes and dislikes being dictated to me..neither would you. i dont get why people argue over what song was the best no point at all!

  • @cephestus i agree! Ain't people like that annoying? They think THEIR music is the only good music! Music is all based on opinion and what interests one person doesn't need to interest everyone else.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow iam going to forget u said that.concidering pantera post CFH had become the greatest metal band alive.yes that includes phil.his even won awards for being a heavy metal vocalist. \m/

  • @farmerricho lol. Awards don't mean anything.

  • @codebabe Groove Metal.

Exhorder played Thrash-influenced Groove, or Groove-influenced Thrash. The production was raw, if you listened to Metal you'd realize this is common; it sounds ten times better than clean production. Hell, if you listened to Metal you'd realize it isn't even that bad in the first place. Raw = good, this is Metal we're talking about. They still had good riffs, their songs were full of them, consistent with all good Metal, and there was no "RE SPEKT. WAWK" tryhard lyrics

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Exodus and Slayer had good raw production, Exhorders was just bland, and their riffs are fairly forgettable. I listen to a lot of metal, especially classic metal and prog metal like Maiden Priest, Dio, Queensryche, Opeth, Nevermore etc. Those bands use clean production. Maiden had one of the best production sounds for their time and they were cleanly produced. Saying that one style of production is better than the other is just dumb. It's totally subjective, even in metal.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Those werent try hard lyrics friend, that was them being real. That song is about fake friends who take shots at you behind your back....its pretty obvious. "Run your mouth when I'm not around, its easy to achieve, you cry to weak friends that sympathize, can you hear the violins playing your song.." Those are honest, direct, powerful lyrics.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow this whol groove metal is for posers is bullshit. pantera made their best albums in the 90s save for this one. theres no way you could say that metal magik is as good as vulgar display of power or cowboys or far beyond driven. those are classics.

  • @codebabe Metal Magic is mediocre but so are all the other albums you listed except for Cowboys. CFH is an enjoyable album if overrated, I Am The Night is pretty cool, and Power Metal is pretty awesome but that's about all I can say for the band.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow

    ಠ_ಠ

  • I love flange. 00:12 - 00:23

  • The only thing that really holds this song back is the chorus. To cheesy for me. Other than that. This song is great. Can here alot of Megadeth and Metallica and even some Testament .Part of becoming what we know as Pantera.

  • There is a lot of Megadeth sound / feel from this song. Guitars, drums, & vocals - very similar to old school Megadeth.

I really like this record because it's all over the place. Traces of their Glam past, some influences of Metallica, Megadeth, 80's metal (glam & non glam), &most importantly you can really start to hear the modern Pantera surfacing - this is especially true in Dimebag's guitar playing.

What they did between this record & cowboys from hell is amazing.

  • @Flashdealer you just said everything i was thinking. This song has a SFSGSW feeling to it. Think "set the world afire". This and cfh are my favourite Pantera albums.

  • 3:11 - 4:00. Heaven on freaking earth.

  • Musically, Pantera was ALWAYS METAL. Their IMAGE was glam, but they sure as hell didn't sound like Poison.

  • @bubbatha

    Fuckin' A!

  • Shred in peace Dimebag Darrell Abbott

  • This is one of the best fucking Pantera tracks ever made. It should have been on the Cowboys From Hell album.

You can hear the musical change from Glam to pure fucking metal in this track alone!!

  • Fucking awesome! Dime was THE greatest metal guitarist. No one else comes close. R.I.P. Dime!

  • i am so playing this for my skool talent show
