@TheMormonJPmusic You obviously don't know the difference between single action and double action. The gun used in Sweepers is a Walther PPK 9mm double action.
@WithoutBeginning Thanks for your comment. Our film is certainly not for everyone. In writing it, we tried to capture the authentic voices of the characters in this world, all of whom find themselves in grave circumstances—rather than standard sanitized movie dialogue.
@kidentbeats Hey, thanks, man. Much appreciated. Yes, some of the audio presented great challenges. Ambient noise on dialog tracks etc. It was a pretty ambitious shoot, especially with locations like LAX. But in the end, we feel we made it work. Cheers.
this is good but the letterbox format really limits some quality shots i did like it it has a massive tony scott feel to it the quick jumpy cuts and the sound is quality, the dialog seems a little static but the actors did well, the widescreen bars need to be less tight and the script needs tightening up but overall it's awesome
@bobswiv Thanks for the Tony Scott comparisons; we haven't heard that one yet. Director Justin Davey set out to create a word that reflected characters on the edge, and used a fast-cutting style in the editing room to achieve that end. The actors loved performing the script, and we're glad you liked the performances. Cheers!
Very nice, like what seemed like over dubbing of the voices. Did think the violence against cell phone guy could have been more physically intense. Lots of really great super tight closeups but with a high depth of field where almost everything was in focus. Very cool way of cinematography, but wondering if that was on purpose or was the equipment limited to only a large range of depth? Any chance you'd reveal or hint at the equipment used? Cheers.

@hentrips1 Thanks for watching. Sweepers was shot on a very limited budget using the Sony VX2000. As a miniDV camera with no changeable lenses, production was limited to what the camera offered. As anybody who has shot with that camera knows, the depth of field is very deep, almost impossible to achieve unless zoomed in. We actually felt the limitations of the camera in a strange way benefited the project, creating a unique and gritty look that matched the subject matter.
@TheModelinglife Thanks for watching (and liking). Director Justin Davey certainly incorporates some dynamic camera movement as part of his style, and we can understand your perspective.
I was about to stop watching it at around 4 minutes because I wasnt getting sucked in. But something told me to keep watching. I'm glad I did. Great movie
Brilliant; I was bummed it was so short: I presume they're trying to get it made into a full length picture: I loved everything about it: The acting, the dialogue; Photography was stunning. I woould definitly pay money to see this as a feature: I'll keep my eyes peeled. First rate stuffThis thing has wings.
I love the camerawork, somehow has a documentary feel to it - which makes the scenes really realistic.

Throwing that kind of language around within the first few lines? I wasn't interested in finding out what further abuse I might suffer in this film.

5*. 99.9% Great short. Some of the dialog cuts had noticeable hiss, but other than that, superb work guys.
