  • I could watch an entire video of the native indians. definite favorite.

  • i just love looking them together now, after jim died.

    i think this was 1997., wasn't it?

  • wondeful vid, great work. for a great song.

The Ghost song I have always thought paid respects to the "Ghost Dance', a ritual once performed by the Native Americans in hopes that the insolent and land hungry Europeans would vanish and the land return to its peace and harmony.

Even though I might not have existed I wish it had worked.

Peace, Love, and may we pass through the Doors and see beyond.

  • yeh if only us european were as perfect as amerca we can only dream i guess

  • do you wanna see it ,ok am gonna show it to yaa........class act...

  • My favorite quote on anyone "Indians scattered, on dawn's highway bleeding Ghost crowd the child's fragile eggshell mind."

  • me toooooo :)

  • I saw the Doors in concert in 1968 and they were awesome, lot of great music for a 5.00 ticket.

  • Wow~~~~ 1968! cool!

  • Timeless

  • I dont know whatsoever gonna happen, but I wanna get my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames. Alright

  • no eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.

  • where is the fest we where promised?

  • fuck yeah

  • really amazing

I will never close the door and always I will be breaking through to the other side

  • so nice to see people who talk my language rap sucks ass rock still sits in the throne.

  • wonder what would have hapened if Jim Morrison was still alive

  • one of the reason why is he a legend is that he died so young... I am afraid that if he survive he would not be so interesting ...

  • yep same with alot of other musicians the world must b this way tho...

  • koooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • theres two sides to the world the spiritual side and the reality side which is physical thats like the government, drama and all that crap the spiritual side is all creative its using the astral world to communicate it has all the answers and its where your soul is at A.K.A the subconscious

  • Only one thing to say, morrison=GOD.

  • I grew up in LA in the 60's and 70's. I'm 60 something and still love this music. My wife thinks i'm stupid, and should act my age. Fuck that shit!!!

  • hahahahahaha HELL YEAH!!

  • Yeeeeah man! Right on

  • teh rap suks, the rock is a live

  • rap NOW sucks it didnt 15 years ago

  • well, i think there's no need of LSD for open your mind....for all the rest, the doors are great artists and their music is simply awesome

  • Cool song. I love The Doors.

  • i tink im barely scratching the surface of the way of thinking of these guys, it is in deed facinating fly baby fly...

  • haven't you guys heard bill hicks? if you don't believe that the best music was influenced by drugs, take all your cds and burn em. maybe it's coicidence. maybe there's a fine line between genius and high... but i'm feeling like a genius!

  • LSD makes you think about things that you would normally dream about.. yes they were genious and acid made their mind open to the world

  • i love that bit by hicks

    and i agree 100%

  • They need some fucking money,so let them do it...

  • It was never supposed to be a song. He performed and recorded a lot of his poems. The band subsequently wrote and produced music to accompany the voice of Jim.

  • AWESOME

  • Oh,God! I love this song!!!! ; )

  • Wow!! I Am Speechless.... All My Thanks Nerdpizza :) U r Awesome for This One!!

  • Amazing

  • Jim ain't dead...he's everywhere

  • beutiful lyrics mosrrison is surely one of the greatest poets

  • The 60's? I believe Jim did the audio track in 1970 and the band finished and released the song in 1978.

  • this is like the poster song for the 60's, haha

  • These are such cool lyrics, I don't get why people bash Morrison's poetry and lyrics, better than 99.9% of the lyrics out there

  • kurt... oh now no here the grunge era is nothing like the masterpeices od the 60's

I would say pearl jam comes the closest.

  • They both were great, but I'm sick of seeing their names, or Janice, Hendrix or any others for that matter, how about River Phoenix, didn't mention him, he acts...i mean is famous, must compare him too. lol Jim rocked, Kurt was a drug addict, 70's music was innovative and took everyone making beautiful sounds to make a song, grunge music is a scar and is for the dead beat flunking no name kids of society.

  • Blah Blah, dont get caught up in the whole forever 27 crap. Just cause they were both great in their times and they died at 27 gives them no connection. It's retarded youth giving into thinking these two related. Jim is exploring wonderful artist and a genius. Kurt is was a depressed genius with a major self esteem and drug issue.

  • lol, np bro

  • No way in hell you could put Kurt Cobain on the level of JM, but yah, Kurt was great too.

  • im sorry i gave you thumbs down, i am really stoned and thought you said kurt was better the first time i read your message

  • wait, why do i care?

  • Kurt Cobain used to write shit like that, too. Like Jim, another genius who lived a tortured life and died at the age of 27. :(

  • "And we laugh like soft, mad children

Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy"

    uh huh

who writes shit like that these days, or ever.

  • Jeff Buckley did

  • yup

JM is the man, such a brilliant writer and singer.

  • trippy....the cotton woolly brains of infancy....daaaaaaaammnn

  • 'An American Prayer' ftmfw.

  • i always come back here!

  • this song is great after a couple of joints=D

  • they must have been gutted that he had gone, even if they had sometimes hated him. This is a great tribute from the guys that knew him so well.

  • FUCKING AWESOME!!! NATIVE PRIDE!!

  • good stuff

  • Excellent !!!!!!!!! 5 stars!!!

  • Jim would be lost without his leather pants. :)

  • cool jewelled

    what a fucking ledge, genius

and that doesnt mean we shouldnt appreciate ray robbie and john

they are all such talented individual musicians who when combined formed one of the best bands ever

choose they crooned the ancient ones

  • does anyone know where i can find the video of jim morrison in the water?

  • The doors of perception are open.

    Five star video.

  • magical!

  • jim morrison is a vampire and still 'lives' in mexico. love this song! thanx

  • Good Good Good and Cool song!!

  • realy good....thanks

  • ci ci,yo comprendo.

  • those words make my hairs stand up

  • esta cancion no tiene madre.todo lo, que cantaba el rey lagarto es pura poesia incomprendible.lo extraño

  • the music of the oors will always remain timeless. no one can compare them to any band within the last 37 years

  • A vast radiant beach and cooled jeweled moon

couples naked race down by it's quiet side

and we laugh like soft, mad children

smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy

The music and voices are all around us.

    awsome song!!

  • the best singer in the rock history,

  • you are a waste of life if you really believe that jim morrisson sucked. you cant even spell his name right. you cant even spell "you're" right. the only one i see here who sucks at anything is you.

  • i agree but he spelled morrison right bro

  • xD ya know, ya coulda went along with it to make him feel worse =]

im not gonna lie, morrison is the only last name that i can never remember if theres two doubles in it, which makes me feel like a disgrace since jim is one of my idols but whatcha gonna do...hah. could be worse, his last name could have been something norwegian...now they have some impossible names to spell lol

  • Aww, just shut up scum

  • The day is divinity..The first thing you see..

  • Wasn't this song made after Jim's death? They got it from his poetry readings or something.

  • yeah it's from American Prayer,

the whole album is from his poetry,

    it's really insightful

  • I just added this to my Favorites. Great great video!

    "I am the Lizard Prince!

I am the best ever since!"

I was quoted saying that to this song while i was in one of my "Trances".

Once again far out video man, thanks for sharing it with the world.

  • Clever!

  • Great job with this video! LOVE the ending footage w/Jim hitch-hiking. LOVE the tribal footage & how the whole piece comes together as a spiritual dance. I don't think the song actually existed until after Jim's death? The rest of the band put it together as a tribute to him, is that right? Each of the band members are unique & gifted, bringing something special to what makes the band. BTW: Jim's family copped the copyrights & prevented them from performing or getting a new lead singer...

  • Eddie Vedder sings for them i thought. The band Riders on the Storm. Check the Doors Official MySpace Page its all there.

  • If you liked this, get An American Prayer, Jim was one of the great american poets, from which most of his songs came, this album will enlighten you

  • this song has awakened me my pretty child my sweet one

  • where is your will to be wierd?

  • love Jim!!!

  • Raise Your Hands If You Understand

    Let's Make A poll :

How many of you people think taht you're alive?

    I'm The Lizard King

    I CAN DO ANYTHING !!!

  • No reply is also a response.......

  • [related to the poll]

  • awake, shake dreams from you hair my pretty child,my sweet one..All efforts are futile, one can only conspire fantasy, a metaphoric reason to live..

    Great video

  • THIS IS AMAZING!

  • Theres no base.

  • It's Bass, not base retard. And there IS bass, can't you hear those pops?

  • Hi, there is an instrument connected to the organ, which Ray plays like a keyboard - and that's the bass. It was invented around the time the Doors were coming into being a band, so they never hired a bass player.

  • Cool!

  • 20 stars .. chillin all over the song.. dreams.

  • Jim is dead, but The Doors legend living. So fine :)

  • Just awesome

  • Today is my birthday.

  • Happy birthday!!

  • New The Doors? Just perfect :)

  • Loser!! New Doors??....stupid!!....are the real!!!...just older

  • I really love the base in this soung ^^

  • every song from the doors is at least good

  • thanks Nerdpizza!

  • jim is here !!

  • The hauntings of Morrisons poetry. The hint of Native drumming in the beat, with the Doors classic sound. Very sureal. Awsome song thanks for the post.

  • great! :)))

  • f'ing breathtaking

  • The Doors of perception!!!!

    Love it!!!

  • Morrisons faux poetry lyrics are ok I guess, the real genius of this is that bitchin hammond organ.

  • blumetatron: ORGAN<33333333333

  • ah!,love,love,love it!

  • great poetry =D

  • Amazing man!!

  • what year was this vid recorded....nice post!

  • this music is timeless. there will NEVER be another jim morrison and there will never be another group like this

  • One of the best tribute video on YT !

  • All God's children gotta cut the cheese baby!!!

  • wow..it's fantastic..oh sure...

  • Jim fully realized the importance of the shaman's role within the tribal structure as that of a healer - as the shaman/medicine man was often the last resort to many in distress (like now, in America). That is the basic message of 'Ghost Song.'

  • Awake. Shake dreams from your hair my pretty child, my sweet one. Choose the day and choose the sign of your day the day's divinity First thing you see. A vast radiant beach and cooled jeweled moon Couples naked race down by it's quiet side And we laugh like soft, mad children Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy The music and voices are all around us. Choose they croon the Ancient Ones the time has come again choose
  • Was Jim Native American? I was watching the movie "The Doors," and there was a lot of reference to the Native Americans.

  • No he wasn't, he was of Irish decent, but believed the soul of an indian merged with his soul during a car accident involving indians when he was a child. His father is quoted as saying the accident never happened, but that's the story.

  • Oh, okay. Thanks. Well that part of the movie makes more sense. That's odd he thought he got into a car accident.

  • Jim didn't think he got into a car accident.

    He witnessed one.

  • Oh, then I'm confused. I look it up.

  • awake people, to bad the remaining Doors don't like each other (i'm talking about john Densmore).

  • 3:58, Jim morrison's face is in the sand. Crazy as shit haha

  • Awake,Shake dreams from your hair...

  • anybody know where i can get this mp3?

  • FROM THE ALBUM!

  • what this video is that cd?

  • Thats true every genius artist has died at 27 Janis Joplin Jim Morrison Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain

  • Brian Jones completes that list

  • i agree but im not sure id put cobain up there with hendrix and morrison

  • you're right, I'm not sure neither

  • sure u can. not for guitar, cobain himself said hes not a great guitarist. but he did affect and transend music drasticlly

  • i know what your saying. but aside from his guitar playing i still just dont think hes on the same level as them. ( thats also a bit bias coming from me a morrison junkie lol)

  • omg i forgot how much i loved ths song

  • People, hey stop it, whenever Jim Morrison is singing, some fucking moron would say it is a gayish, WAF, this music is great, it is history.....

    OMG, Jim Morrison RIP....:(

  • he is a lyrical genius!

he was a wonderful person in his short 27 years of living, he died too young )':

    RIP Lizard King

"i am the Lizard King, i can do anything!"-Jim Morrison

  • Every genius artist dies at the age of 27.

  • Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and many many more

  • excelente vídeo.

  • Morrison is even a bad ass when he speaks instead of sings. The guy was just all around amazing.

  • Omg this band Rocks!!!

  • i liked it. it was the Doors in a dreamlike state. it sounded like an instrumental tune but with Jim haunting it with his poems.

  • --------for regiseur

  • ur dads cool

  • i do think the music on the ghost song is good.

  • what! the music is awesome, very groovy and chill
