I guess that's why Naruto is so popular for fanfiction, the setting is perfect...Anyway, Kishimoto can make some great characters' but then just completely wastes them! The best ones like Kimmimaro and such have a great character build-up, then just die the very next episode...

I love how even though Kimimaro worked for Orochimaru, he still shown signs of chivalry and honour when he fought Lee. He could've easily killed him right when Lee was about to take out the "medicine", but instead he stopped his attack and let him drink it.

An antagonist that shows chivalry and honour, especially one that works for somebody who shows no mercy and gives out STDs to children, is a very rare sight, which makes Kimimaro even more unique.

Gaara didn't kill him. He was about to kill Gaara who was out of chakra and little more than a sitting duck by the end, but both Gaara and Rock Lee got lucky. Kimimaro's disease got the best of him just before he could deal the finishing blow.
