When I heard he was still releasing music while he was in prison and that it was all synth based, I was looking forward to hearing similar synth that was on Hvis and Filosefem... even stuff that was on the debut and Det som... this might as well be Mortiis...

Actually, this was the album that made me like Burzum's music so much. I had just discovered ambient music and its darker equivalent and found out about the also very amazing project Vinterriket from CZ (Christoph Ziegler) who covered "Der Tod Wuotans" on "Landmalerische Klangwelten Synthetischer Tonkunst" - compilation. "Frijôs einsames Trauern" became my favourite Burzum track with its embrace of heartfelt atmosphere and absolute void on the other side. Cannot wait until March!

seems as though a lot of his songs are somewhat reflective in nature. I have to wonder if that's what Varg did while in prison all those years. If he did not reflect back on his whole life and had a deep sorrow for having spent a good deal of it in prison. I think maybe he does have some regrets about what he did. His songs to me seem sad and lost. Beautiful nonetheless. I'd love to listen to this in the pale moonlight.
