  • i like how she says "you cant be faint at heart" AFTER the corn snake attacks. =D

  • Can't the ingest a lot of non-digestible substrate, feeding them live (vs. frozen) prey? Don't get me wrong--it's FUN to watch! LOL

  • @orangatangboy1 its cool. It was a white elephant in the room lol.

  • for one thing that cant be its home if your feeding it in or it might mastake your hand as food.. prob not.

  • My snakes don't mistake my hand for food when I pick them up because my hands aren't yellow feeding tongs!

  • take youre snake out and feed him in a different cage. this will prevent him from thinking your hand is food everytime u try to grab him. also, a snake who feeds on frozen mice will be much less aggressive and more docile.

  • @guerrero147 srry i dident read this and i kind wrote the same thing

  • .... see "kids" on here commenting about something they think they know about about as if they are herpetologist and they know this practice forwards and backwards blind folded ITS so.....st!

  • i wish people would get over the frozen thawed vs live !!! If you logically think about it, the pet store i go to get feeders are sold live and frozen. Snakes also loose certain vitamins when being frozen all the time, and yes they do sell vitamin supplements to make up for that but the bottom line is its an optional thing so would people just get over it! I would love to know the age of those who say the person in this video doesnt know what they are talking about. I mean it is so stupid to..

  • faint at heart? bro i would be like "KILL IT YES, KILL IT!"

  • yes excellent, my mum think corn snakes stay small for ever, just let her keep thinking that >:)

  • were be talkin? :03

  • @LlamaYourMama Yeah man i agree she does not know what she's talking about it will beacome terratorial if you feed it in its tank and yes i also agree do not feed it live mouse as it will bite your snake exp villige does not know ennything

  • is it a heath risk to the corn snake to eat pet mice ????? that,s why i always buy frozen mice from the reptile store

  • @sharpshooterklj lol, i meant to say poor mouse, being held up by it's tail so roughly :l

  • Comment removed

  • The mouse is in trouble

  • Poo mouse, being held up by it's tail.

  • You're going to need to expand to maximum capacity for me, woman.

  • THE MOUSE IS LIKE..... 'I HOPE YOU GET THE SHITS'

  • @MrPokemon1208 You should watch her virium tutorial...it's horendous.

  • never feed your snake in its normal habitat .... jeez do u want to get bit

  • Ok, number one, this is a corn snake and will do so much better on F/T mice. And it's a bad idea to feed in the cage, and you feed every week, whatever the 'crappyvillage' video is about, don't trust it. Most of the things they say is bull.

I would expect a woman like her to not feed live food, but I'm telling you now, she dosen't seem to care that a innocent mouse is being suffocated. I understand it is nature. But if u get the oppurtunity to feed F/T food, DO IT!

    This video: all lies. :L

  • Adult corns are ok feeding once every two weeks. hatch lings once a week or twice depending on how fast you want your corn to grow.

  • oh yeah plus its every week not every 2 weeks

  • You can't feed it live mice

  • dumb blonde

  • Comment removed

  • I want a corn snake, but i dont want to give them live animals... Im almost crying for the mouse just to see it.... What if i have to give it to a snake, ill never get over it then... I LOVE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!! Thumbs up if u are an animal lover!

  • @askandaa67 if you dont want to feed it live rodents you can also go to your pet store and get frozen mice instead of live. Its atually a better way to feed your snake so that when the corn snake is constricting the rodent it wont be able to bite the skin of the snake. Hope this helped you.

  • @reptilesproduction thx alot :) but how often do u feed them?

  • @askandaa67 I heard like one rodent a week but i may be wrong. You should find a care sheet to help you.

  • @reptilesproduction thanks :D

  • @$&" this. This is just horrible

  • @ThePwnerOfEpicNoobs

that reason is because they can get away and there fast!

  • no offence but a healthy snake will eat every 5-7 days i have had a corn snake sence i was 8 and every breeder i have talked to said they should eat every 5-7 days look up an episode called snake bytes bad addvise and the breeder will tell the top 5 or 10 (cant remember) bad addvise he has heard over the years

  • @ThePwnerOfEpicNoobs

    feeder mice you do

  • I think I'd end up growing to love the feeding mice too much and keeping them as pets. Nope if and when I get myself a corn snake I'll be feeding it frozen mice.

  • and most of expert village speek out thier ass

  • is it me or do most of the expertvillage people seem so fake and put on

  • That woman is evil!!! i don't like snakes, but if i were to like snakes and had one as a pet i would not let that poor mice to go through that. that was sad to watch.

  • Dumbass your supposed to get a feed box because if you feed it in it's normal tank it will think your hand is food and it will be difficult to pick it up all you need is a plastic container so when your going to feed it you take it out of it's normal tank and put it in the plastic container and give it it's food

  • @dfgdfdgf

actualy i have a corn snake and i have fed her in her cage every sence i got her she has never hissed or tryed to bite me she is very tame but i dont ever mess with her the day i feed her

  • DO NOT LISTEN TO EXPERT VILLAGE!!THEIR INFORMATION WILL KILL ANY PET YOU HAVE

  • @RTSstation LMAO xD

  • i feed my snake every two weeks and there is no problem, stops him being overweight, hes 4 years old

  • yeh um just to mention... YOU DONT FEED CORN SNAKES EVERY 2 WEEKS ARE YOU THICK!!! i have 2 corn snakes and i feed them once a week like every other person who knows about snakes...

  • Beautiful snake, too bad they will kill it soon :/

  • you are all dumbasses shut up let them feed there snakes what ever they please dicks

  • Hey everyone, Please join my forum snake . nstars . org/. It's a place to talk about everything involving snakes!!

  • Hi!

  • how is that fantastic bitch

  • It's illegal to feed live food to snakes in the UK.

  • Another 'expert' village video fail! no pet store in their right mind should sell mice for live food! idiots...

  • @twowheelworld my pet store does, there is nothing wrong with live food under the right circumstances. just because it may be grusome or "nasty" to watch does not mean its not natural, the only thing that could go wrong is that the mouse fights back and that almost never happens. you just need to make sure the snake is alert and healthy.

  • @terryeddyterry i don't mind if people choose to feed their pets live food, i feed my beardie and praying mantis live food...i simply think some people don't know when to stop with some videos showing say a tegu thrash a rat, too large for feeding, around for 10 minutes trying to kill it...this causes stress that shouldn't occur! it's all about education and a little sense

  • @twowheelworld you are exactly right! and you have a praying mantis?

  • @twowheelworld yea :) dead leaf mantis :) he's pretty awesome!

  • @twowheelworld Actually, almost all pet stores do. Infact, three petstores that I live near each have a tank filled with mice, with the words "feeder mice" (for feeding snakes)written on it. Soooo, yea your wrong.

  • @HuntForWaffles do you all live in america? because you don't see things like that in any pet shop i have near me in england!!

  • @twowheelworld Actually.... yes XD but I do think its wrong to make a rat/mouce suffer if a dead rat is just sa good. Thats what I perfer to feed my snakes. :P

  • Ahhh! This is really irritating me. Okay, first of all, feed your snake one mouse once a week. Feeding it two mice at a time is called "power feeding" and will shorten the life of your snake, and cause health issues. Second, take your snake out of it's enclosure to feed it. If you don't, it will associate sticking your hand in it's terrarium with food, then see your hand and think "Hey, food! :D *nom*".

  • lol

  • FEED I T FROZEN MICE FREAK!!

  • Awwwwww poor lil mousey!

  • mouse got pwned, i have a question! people always say feed the mouse outside the tank because it makes the snake think the next time you put your hand in to get him out he'll think it's food but then people say not to handle him after his been fed so if you do take him out put him in a container and give him food how the hell are you meant to get him back in the tank :S

  • Yes you can feed the snake live mouses!!!!!!!!!!!no different from dead

  • you NEVER feed them a live mouse... they carry desiese and can injur the snake!

  • I think its funny how people do not like this but will got out and eat chicken nuggets and or a hamburger and not think twice. The way some of the animals are breed and killed to make mcdonalds rich is 100 times worst than this.

  • @petekicksass It's super effective!

  • aww...poor little mouse. :(

  • I never feed mine in the same tank...I know everyone has their own opinion on this, but my wife, son and I handle it quite often and have never been bitten. Just saying.

  • @trueshoot2 she feeds it 2 adult mice every 2 weeks so its probably healthy and the snake probably wont become obece or slow because its diet is regulated.

  • Yo it's two weeks dude. Once a week is over feeding ur snake. Once every two weeks is just enough time. Believe me, I own a snake and she is healthy as can be

  • LMAO a healthy snake does not eat every 2 WEEKS !!!!! once every week is how you should do it ask any one who knows something about snakes they will tell you the same thing dont just take my word for it :)

  • @TrueShoot2 I know herpetologists and they will say this snake should be fed once every two weeks. Really it depends on the size of the snake. The bigger they are the less often you feed them. Zoos will feed their python a baby pig once a month.

  • @TrueShoot2 She said two mice, every two weeks. 1 Mice = 1 Week.

    Common sense here.

  • @MsReneTV well how about we put all your food for one day in front of you and make you eat it in one sitting and nothing else for the rest of the day? Use some common sense yourself mate, it's not maths here. true shoot probably means one feeding session per week

  • @twowheelworld Snakes only need one mice every one week. :T Like every other snake, some can go longer.

  • @TrueShoot2 VERY TRUE

  • @TrueShoot2 my corn snake Comes out when shes hungry which is anything from 1-2 weeks

ive been told she is the healthiest corn snake (a exotic pet shop owner met) cause shes not over nor under fed

  • @TrueShoot2 she said the snake should be fed twice in 2weeks so thats once every week listen to the video again dont just take my word for it :)

  • @TrueShoot2 She said she feeds it 2 mice every 2 weeks.

    Dumbass

  • @TrueShoot2 2 times 2 week dont u understand its the same

  • o fare amına kaçsın emi??

  • can i always feed a corn snake frozed and dethawed mice? cus my parents said i cant get one if they have to go to the store every week for live mice

  • @mrmcpistole yes frozen thawed are fine for life

  • @petekicksass it's an ekans

  • Some folks just cant deal with REALITY!

This lady is NOT an expert. As Fryalynn stated NEVER feed a snake in its its own housing.

  • @azarianboy

    this!

it runs too high of a risk of the live feeder to fight back and potentionaly harm your snake. you should have a clear enclosed space where you can keep an eye on both animals and assist if needed.

  • thats cool u should wathc my viedo

  • @seanyo82 not a snake big enough to eat a human a python or andacanda would kill but never be able to eat i plan on getting a reptile soon and feeding mice for better growth i would rather feed a snake 10 rats then have the rats reproduce to 20 loose

  • pure epicness POKEMON FTW :D

  • i never thought i would ever see the day expertvillage use live prey thought they was a couple of panzi's but none the less i will feed my new corn snake live pinkies yay me =]

  • ... Never feed your snake in their terrarium. Feed it outside in a seperate box so that it wont get aggressive towards Anything else entering it's enclosure. (Like your hand.) Honestly people, if you want !!real!! information, dont watch Expert Village!

  • Can u get pre killed snakes at pet store

  • @laserboy200 any decent pet store that sells reptiles SHOULD carry pre killed frozen mice.

  • @AllAlaskan907 i think this is sooooooooooooooooooooo STUPID

  • @grimetyme2k8 Finally, someone who has some sense :)

  • i feed mine 2 pinky's a week!

  • First it bothered me about feeding live animals to snakes, but it is nature and nurture-it is like this in nature, and it is our job to nurture our pets.

I try to think of it as a documentary on wild animals and such, and it bothers me much less.

I am not a vegetarian, and neither are snakes. It wouldn't be fair to complain about how we feed snakes when we eat animal products like eggs, meat, poultry, and dairy and or wear leather or suede.

Snakes are cool. They gotta eat too.

  • AWESOME VIDEO

  • @grimetyme2k8 Make those idiots understand!!

im amazed at how many whiners are out there that love to bitch about ppl feeding thier reptiles.

  • Not a nice video. You should be educating people. Frozen food is better than live, and more humane. Not only is it better for the animal that is the food but, it is also better for the snake.

  • at what age would a corn snake be ready for its adult size vivarium?

  • Wait for the PETA tard rage. Guys, snakes eat live mice in the wild it is part of their life cycle.

  • this women is a damn retard NEVER feed a live adult mouse it's okay to feed live baby mice cuz they can't bite your snake

  • @sasprawler i have been bitten by pinkys and fuzzies

  • @herpingandgaming yes i know that won't hurt, but if you feed live adult mice to your adult snake they can seriously injure your snake

  • I really dont understand why people feed snakes that size mice. Its more nutritious and economical to feed the thing one small/medium rat than 2 mice. Snakes grow out of mice, and it appears as if this one has

  • she dont know shit you are supposed to grind it up first in a blender or something

  • @magicfartdust Ground mice is just what snakes eat.

    ?

  • @AddieLuver09 ya man and you can make burgers with it snakes love that creative shit

  • @magicfartdust Only with ketchup.

  • it...... is...... actually.... holy crap woman could you talk any slower!!!!

  • its the circle of life people. these mice are bred for this.

  • @silvermoon1221 what are you a pot-smoking native american?????

  • @sasprawler Maybey ;D, No im just saying that if people wanna freak out then look at this, its all the way nature intended.

  • @sasprawler Also a point, those "pot smoking native americans" are called people no matter their race, and i got this from the lion king(just incase that you were too dumb to notice). So ya, quit trying to make me look bad and also i didnt even post this my idiot brother did, Cya loser ..

  • @silvermoon1221 way to respond 8 months later -.- Also if your idiot brother posted that, then why did you say "I got that from the lion king"?

  • @sasprawler Honestly i dont have time to "Computer battle you" all day long so all imma say is this. Your comment was rude and not needed. Just because i tried to make people chill out doesnt mean im a "pot smoking native american". How would you like it if you were trying to help people and i called you that. Youd feel pritty crappy. So next time, think before you post. Good job at making me look bad, i hope you someday know how it feels... :c

  • @silvermoon1221 i wouldn't really get all sad and cry like you are, i'm not in grade 1 anymore, i don't care when people call me names.

  • @sasprawler Then why are you still here?Hmm? WHatever im done -.-

  • i always put myself in their shoes i mean like you think its bad ass to feed em live food? so many people go around boasting like they're the shit cause they do it, and even if you dont thats still messed. they're not in their natural habitat, therefore they dont need to hunt live animals. your snake wont be complaining if you give it a dead mouse.

  • @grimetyme2k8 The difference is these snakes aren't in there natural habitat. as an owner i choose the more humane feeding practice. frozen. those mice can sense fear, and definitely feel pain. no animal deserves to go out like that.

  • Expert Village...Here is some advise. U should not feed live prey to ur snakes as the mouse can diseases and shit like that. Its better to have frozen mice. I know people will be like "Oh then what do they do out it the wild huh!" Well they just eat live dont they!!!

  • is it good to start off whit a 30-50 L tank and 1-2 corn snakes i'm a starter btw, i have a 250 L tank that problaby is to big for 1-2 small/medium corn snakes i wanna order them at my local pet store, i've ordered fishes from them before and they came healthy so i think it's going to work out fine, but i want a cool looking corn snake/snakes maby if u could tell me the names?, i dont want one that will bite me alot, couse i want a snake i can hold and learn more about, tell me price etc plz.

  • they do have gourmet rodent at petco though... could he eat a hopper? 2 1/2 ft corn 1-1 1/2 in. thickest part of snake...

  • @grimetyme2k8 HUMANS didnt eat live food -.-

  • I have gotten feeder mice from petco a bunch of times, they say they dont have them for feeders but they were the same, might cost alittle more like 2 or 3 dollars per mouse...I feel my 3 snakes live, I feel that its better for them and lets them release some aggression and use there muscles in a natural way...rather then biting me lol

  • why is she in pijama?

  • feeding your snake in his tank isnt a good idea, i did to my snake for 3 weeks and he got mean as shit when i tried to pick him up but mellowed back out when i fed him in a separate tank

  • @dakotaneville Very good advice

  • can my 2 1/2 corn eat a live sub adult mouse at petco or something?

  • @HoboShow1000 the mice at petco are not made for feeding you need to go to a reptile shop or somewere that sells feeder mice

  • Gay i love it when the constrict its awesome stop being pussies

  • @grimetyme2k8 lmfao so true

  • ok couple of fails, 1st of all.. if the snakes accepts dead prey, feed it dead prey.. less chance of the snake damaging etc etc. 2nd of all 2 mice? NEVER feed 2 prey! ONE fitting prey is the way to go. And feeding On rough bedding isn't that smart.. if they swallow the substrate the snake could die if it can't pass out the natural way. that's why i use coconut bedding, its digestible and small enough to pass through.

  • @Crazy4Cavies i would not move a corn snake to its wooden vivarium untill its at least 2 to 2 and half feet long and even then place a few hides , plastic leaves, apsen substrate, plently of places for it to make a quick hide should it feel scared, this will help it be more secure to its enviroment

  • Dumbass Village.

  • arsehole village

  • NEVER feed your snake live food. she will relate movement with food and it will increase your chances of getting bit. also as the snake gets bigger the food gets bigger and it could pottentially harm your snake.

and there's parasites in live mice.

Comparing a captive breed snake to a wild snake is as stupid as comparing a house chihuahua to a wolf.

Captive breed live longer and healthier and can't care for themselves.

    They depend on you.

Dont listen to expert village...it's bullshit.

  • @slashngibson damn right and the fact that with corns they are more likely to get hurt because they have weaker scales than a constricter like a ball python or something like that

  • @slashngibson id never feed my corn live, because theres always a chance the mouse or rat can injure my snake, also live cost more, i personally wont take the chance of a snake injury

  • No it's not better to feed them live. More bacteria and higher chance of parasites with live food. Also there is a real possibility of a live mouse injuring a snake. A mouse bite has been known to kill a snake.

  • @natefromcanada correct , that is very true

  • Why is this stupid comment all over the video??? What's the point of this? Retards! Consider changing to "retardsvillage".

  • Can I just ask why is there a load of writing covering up the video?? Doesnt that defeat the object of making a video as you can't see anything??

If I wanted to read something I wouldnt have come onto youtube to WATCH.

  • a fucking irreversible shame you didn't feed yourself to it, then someone having to fucking detonate you both

  • bitch

  • plz people plz

don´t feed live mice or rat´s or any type of animal to a snake if not nessesery

    plz

  • stupid snake .....the snake is the devil

  • Awwwwwww poor little innocent mouse!

  • @wolvesrwhite

how do u know its innocent? that mice couldve been serial killer in the mouse world...

  • @lilmissfarah true....

  • What the hell? What's with the potted plant?

  • shes a dick face :D

  • That's awesome!!

  • i got a corn snake thats about a year old ive been feeding him 3 pinkys a week and i was wondering if i put in a live mouce would he constrict it and eat it or would he just try to eat it

  • U bitch pretend that waz u 100 years old syco dick bitch

  • @1bornkilla if u dont like this sort of thing then why click on it just 2 have a whine about it retard. its simple. JUST DONT WATCH IT. dumbass!

  • @1bornkilla your such a prick -_-

  • @1bornkilla You're a 1bornkilla..... and you care about a snake eating a mouse..... one of those things is a lie....

  • its nature to eat the mice alive

  • Um....... you're not supposed to feed a snake in its normal habitat... if you reach in at any other time, the snake might mistake your hand for food and go for it. You're supposed to feed it in a separate feeding cage. DUH

  • The subtitles suck so bad.

  • kinda funny that the snake in the end has problems eating the mice xD hes trying to find out wich way to eat him lol.

  • Mouse bites often lead to death you stupid woman, Corn Snakes ARE a species that can eat pre-killed frozen and thawed mice

  • ANIMAL CRULETY I HOPE THE SNAKE EATS HER EYES OUT

  • @mayashep8 not actually animal cruelty its nature. If that snake wouldnt been there it would still be eating probably more mice or other stuff

  • Nice!

  • @tommyjohnson142 i do not like to torture animals.thats just how nature works.they never said u cant feed a snake a dead mouse but think how cruel it was when they killed the mouse before.do you know how they kill the mice? no matter wat the mouse gets screwed over anyways.and its more natural to feed a snake a live mouse than a dead one.and its cruel to the snake too.its already living in a glass cage.why take away its ability to be a real snake and kill its food like it would in the wild?

  • @tommyjohnson142 Because mice can harm the snake. Every responsible snake owner feeds frozen/thawed or pre-killed.
