Sooo, the filmmaker (most likely the producers) were very proud of their ability to be an 'official selectrion' at horror film festivals (because they let the film be shown there for free). Wow, that's like labeing your product with the self- promo 'used by a guy named Joe after we gave him a free sample'. And, am I wrong, but doesn't ol' Hatchet up there actually use an Axe in every little snippet we see??

@toppsattaxplayer - actually, there was a sequel to the book Hatchet. Seems the government wanted to learn how a kid survived in the wilderness, so they sent him up there again, and the same darn thing nearly happened again. My guess is that the kid was by then so traumatized that he became a recluse who later moved to the bayou, and when some teenagers came to his shack they caused his mind to crack and killed them all. The movie producers merely skipped the alone-in-the-wilderness stuff.

the book is about a 13 year old is on his way to see his dad in canada and the pilot has a heart attack and brian has to land the plane in a lake and survive in the wilderness until he is rescued,.... its not to bad
