  • @asjam05 Yes but The Spire is the tallest sculpture in the world. :)

  • i can think of one thing to do with that spike and it has do do with FF and the GREENS... Answers on a postcard ...

  • id hate to be parachutin over that!

  • It attracts you punsey feckin english poofs to drink lots of shite in the city on a night out.

And hey,if ye get beat up,feck off back to england.

    English wankers!

    I'm lovin the audio

Whats the feckin point of a queen and a royal family that nobody actually gives a feck about!

  • english gobshites who robbed our land, took our food and murdered any man brave enough to stand up to them, now they come over here for a weekend away looking for welcome!! they know where they can stick their queen!!

  • @gogglebox9998 thats the past ok, irish people hating english people or vise versa is just immature now, grow the f**k up!

  • It was originally termed "The Spike", a pretty harsh name in comparison with the slender sound of "The Spire".

  • It's called the Monument of Light, actually.

  • F****n brilliant!

A stiffy out of London... :-)

Why was there an international design competition?

Where no Irish astists avaiable, with their penises of their own?

  • my apartment is that big in dubai lol!

  • fuck dubai

  • HA wats dat - JELOUSY ur jus jealos

that Dubai is the most beautiful place and de richest place with the BEST airline maáshallah

  • a pole in a hole is all it is!! lol

  • i love the spire, its fucking cool stop bitching about it every city has a symbol the spire is fucking excellent

  • Hmmm, symbolism is all well and good but aesthetics is of equal or greater importance, especially when talking about the flagship monument in a city. This fails on the latter. you could also say it symbolises the virility and potency of dublin people and the patches on the base represent the syphillis that's ravaging the youth of Dublin!

  • I like the Spire. I did from the first time I saw the plans. Onwards and upwards, Ireland.

  • This replaces nelsons pillar (a symbol of the old British Empire).

This new modern monument represents new Ireland standing tall, independent & proud.

It symbolises a new way of thinking in an area of Dublin that holds a dark past. Anyone who does not like the spire does not know what it means & anyone that opposes it is afraid of change.

    Be Inspired.

  • @abstractedjesus that's one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard

  • ive been there loads of times, its just a big pointless point

  • So what's the point?

  • its there to replace nelsons pillar that was blown up in 1966 on the same spot

  • Listen, we're ashamed of that horror! It's an overgrown lamp post is all!!! you should have seen the other ideas that were put forward, all of them were amazing compared to the "stilletto by the getto"... the "stiffy by the liffey" ... etc...

  • Laurie!!! ITS S**T!!!
