OK, I got it to twist - counterintuitive to say the least - by rotating that vertical selection around the z (depth) axis. Now I'm trying to figure out what he's selecting in that menu at 0:24 to delete the faces along the sides... which seems to be necessary in order to scale the new edge around... did you get that working?
I was able to do it, but nothing seems to work as smooth as him, at the end my flag was all faceted as well, I used Soften Edges from the window menu, and cleaned all the artifact edges afterwards. Not sure if it's exactly what you were talking about tho...
@Dav963 Got it to curve now - quite counterintuitive - rotating a vertical selection in the middle of the shape around the Z (depth) axis... What does he select in that menu at 0:24 - seems necessary to select and delete the edges in order to then scale the new edges around...
@Dav963 hmm, if i "flip along green direction" - then I can delete the edges and the new edge does, indeed, rotate the same way as in his example... is that how you did it? I confess - I would never have figured that one out by myself...
@visualcomms at 0:24 he is creating a group with the selection in order to get the outline edge, I guess, but I know I wasn't getting the same result...And I don't get the vertical selection + rotation to make it curve either heh... I don't remember exactly what I did, but I know i got the same final result, just message me you email adress in my youtube inox and has soon as I get 2 seconds tomorrow I'll check this out and email you back, cause I worked on this at work, so I got nothing with me
I'm trying to replicate these steps, but i can't select a vertical line in the middle of the model like in the example at 0:10 - what am I missing? is there a special plugin or some sandbox feature? also - i don't see the dotted vertical lines in an unselected shape... :-/
@Dav963 i did figure that one out - eventually - but now I can't rotate that vertical line smoothly - e.g. it's faceted, not smooth and curvy... Is there a plug-in he's using or just some clever feature in sketchup...!?
What are you doing between 0:27, and 0:31?

@visualcomms You just have to show the hidden geometry in view>
Spend 2 hours figuring that out lol, good luck
