  • THANK YOU! This was EXACTLY what I was looking for and will help so much (haven't actually done it yet) but you show and explain perfectly!

  • Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I'm just now finishing my very first quilt, and just had no idea how to stitch the binding down on the back. Looked at lots of tutorials, but none of them explained it very well. Then, today, I found yours and now I'm almost halfway through with my binding. Your video is great! Easy to follow and well done. Thank you again, so much! Claudia

  • Thanks for the demo! Now off to practice....

  • No, but I like using a 7 or 8 quilting needle...whatever you are comfortable in using is fine. With a smaller needle, you can take smaller bits of fabric.

  • This video really helped! Is there a specific size of needle you need to sew the binding on the quilt?

  • @serenasmithonline can you also do this with a sewing machine

  • UHhhhh an alternating color would have helped so much more, (sry for us Beginners)....but great instruction...thank you. Very helpful. Ohhhh my goodness, quilting requires so much to remember.....can I Do IT??

  • Thank you! I never understood how to do this from looking in books.

  • The placement of your hands is exactly what I was looking for. I knew it was right when I saw this. I too was procrastinating this last step to a quilt. Thanks

  • Great video. I haven't sewn in over 20 yrs and had actually forgotten how to blind stitch! Do you have a video showing how to machine quilt with a free motion foot?

  • Not specifically for free motion as of yet. :) Glad you enjoyed the video.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

  • Thanks. it really helped me alot

  • this video is awesome!! i'm finishing my very first quilt and this video helped a lot! :]

  • Oh my goodness! What a GREAT VIDEO! Thank you for your time and posting. I just finished my very first quilt and had been putting this off. I almost machine stitched the back, but not now!

  • that was very good thanks how wide did you make you binding?

  • I usually cut my binding 2 1/4" wide and then fold it in half so it is 1 1/8" to stitch on. Then it makes a nice, snug edging.

  • wow....i have a blanket that i started making when i was like 19 or so and i used store bought binding and went nuts on that blanket. It looks so bad now but i was really angry at my machine at the time so..yeah it looks bad..but i might have to redo the whole thing and do the binding like this.

  • Great video, it was extremely helpful. I wish you would have zoomed it just a bit more though.

  • Thank you for taking the time to make this video. VERY helpful.

  • Your video is excellent! I've always had a hard time with a blind stitch but this has helped tremendously. Thank you!

  • Thank you SO much for posting this. I could never figure out how to do this by looking at my quilting books! Appreciate the great video.
