  • Idunno. I kinda liked it.

  • Can you send me the song?

  • Cuál es el nombre de la canción del principio?

  • @LocoXdonkris ~ The tune is one of the royalty-free jingles that came with my iMovie program on my Mac (computer). Its title is "Travel."

  • i like the sound @ 0:53 its great ^^

  • Could anyone tell me what's the name of the song??? :)))

    Plz

  • @krki37 ~ If you're talking about the tune at the beginning and end of the video, it's an iMovie jingle titled "Travel."

  • @krki37 ~ The tune is one of the royalty-free jingles that came with my iMovie program on my Mac. Its title is "Travel."

  • @krki37

    Master of Puppets

  • hello, can anyone tell me which is the movie at 2:15? after "Le chien Andalou". thanks

  • @amigdale - Thanks for commenting. You probably got your numbers mixed up and meant 1:25. That clip is from the film "The Color of Pomegranates" (a.k.a. "Sayat-Nova"), a 1969 Soviet film directed by Sergei Paradzhanov. I really like the film, but some folks don't like it at all.

  • @pagano60 exactly, i was talkin bout it! i saw a still-video of that scene once on web. thanks for the information, i'll surely gonna see it!

  • lindo! parabens....

  • @MariaNMdaSilva - Gracias.

  • you did....

  • completely random. great clips. awesome.

  • @dutchsoc r u serious?

  • ca va mieux merci.

reste la question du comment tu fais pour ecrire autant, mais je ne t'embeterais plus. t'es tres belle.

  • So random one can't but love it

  • i do tribute to Dali on my 'Revez/Dreams' short film check it out you might like

  • Great!

  • hm....i think some one else would have to give me the time I spent on this stuff the first time I saw it even as absuce as it was. I feel most of this was a pretty fair trade the first time however. Hitchcock, Kurasawa, and Dali to name a few. While I agree your editing needs work your subjects are spot on keep it up and I'm sure you will be do well.

  • That was.. Really really strange..

  • I want my life back!!

  • longer clip on un chien andalou, i think more would like to the eye being slit open

  • I'm sure that the shot of the eye being slit, and the goo running out, can be seen elsewhere on YouTube.

  • Eww. But true. Im a huge fan of Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí, that's the only reason i saw this clip d; .. Looking for the hole Un Chien Andalou, so if you know where to find it, please tell (; .

  • hey this is great! i wish the bits were a tad longer though...

  • How do you make these videos and with what programmes?

  • I used a Canopus ADVC110 to convert VHS footage into my Mackintosh iMovie program.

  • i like it!

  • Hi there, love this wee compilation! Brings back memories of film papers I took a university (and of course of some of my favourite movies). What's the name of the short film from which you took that shot of the woman with the knife? I can't remember! Not Un Chien Andalou, the other one. Thanks!

  • That movie is 'Meshes of the Afternoon' (1943), a short experimental film by Maya Deren (she also plays the woman in the shot).

  • I quite liked that, didn't get why the clip of that asian model was in there, but hey, whatever works lol

  • ...? i think she fits perfectly... the part of "un chien andalou" of dalí seemed a bit short to me but it's great work...

  • The Citizen Cane inclusion was the apex of the video.I never understood post-modernism but you have shed some light on the subject.

  • Hey, love how you included "Rashomon"! The Medium scene was really the best scene in one of the best movies in the world.

  • Yes! Absolutely! Yes!

I think that "Rashomon" is one of the greatest films ever made, too!

  • And the medium scene is its best sequence.

  • I only want 15 seconds back

  • I actually like it.

    (Omg, I never was normal..)

  • I thought that was amusing. But I'm a simple soul.

  • damn, that really was a fucking waste of time...

  • Where's the music in the intro from? Really into that kind of music, so was just wondering :)

  • The tune is one of the royalty-free jingles that came with my iMovie program on my Mac. Its title is "Travel."

  • the song also reminds me of Jeeves and Wooster

  • Speaking of "Jeeves and Wooster," can you believe that the actor who plays Bertie Wooster in that series, Hugh Laurie, is the same actor who stars in "House M.D."? If I didn't know better, I'd say they were two different guys! That's talent for you!

  • !!! eclectic, lececcit, ceictel, etc. . .

  • I have a question it might sound dumb but: Did he really slit her eye?

  • I have it on good authority that the woman's eye was not actually slit. One source says that the cut eye actually belonged to a calf.

That scene is a real eye opener, isn't it? (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

  • LOL i thought it was funny...

  • great work......

  • don't knock the i-movie not the best but you can still do some things with it.

  • I really enjoyed seeing such a spectacular collection of movies in one place.

And now for something completely different (>O.o)>

  • Ok,the movies are listed on the right, which is obviously a good thing. But what about the dialogues?Where are they taken from and who is reciting them?

Oh,and btw:where the heck where you able to find the original version of "Que Viva Mexico!"?

    That's it.

  • If I understand your question correctly, you are asking about the soundtrack. As my video's titles say, the soundtrack is taken from a video by YT member Baby Porridge, and you can go to the video by clicking on the purple title just under the screen.

If you're not familiar with Baby Porridge, don't judge her by that one video. Her others have a lot more thought and effort put into them.

I'm sorry, but film sources are confidential.

  • Yes ell,I"m sorry too :))

Although I too would've been reluctant to disclose my sources for such movies[I'm most intrigued by your finding "The Color of Pomegranates" and yes,"Que Viva Mexico!"].

I'll just have to settle for the 1979 version,then...

Oh,and the only bits missing from your film to make it a collector's dream are "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and "Spring,Summer,Fall,Winter...and Sping".Aside from that,it really was worth

that 1:15 of my life :D.

  • QUOTE: "... it really was worth that 1:15 of my life :D."

I never thought I'd hear anyone say THAT! If I were advertising my video like a movie, that would be my film-critic newspaper quote. It's a nice thing to say. Thanks a lot.

  • :)

Oy vey,I'm very keen on finding symbolism in any bit of reality around me,or as Woody Allen put it,on reducing everything to cultural stereotypes. The mix of irony, surrealism and sheer randomness in yours really does the trick for me ;).

Plus, compared to some other useless 1:15' I've had in my life, this one is pure gold. You should do a whole bunch of these films, release them as mainstream productions and revolutionize the enitre cinema industry.Or something like that.

    Cheers.

  • Oh, wow, I didn't even read the box to the right. I'm surprised I missed Keaton's The General, and forgot to even mention Citizen Kane, tho I suppose that one was a bit obvious.

  • Nah, I wasn't saying the 70's version of Nosferatu was bad, I'd just rather reference the original.

And, yeah, more willy nilly friggin' clips, mon ami!

  • Thanks for your suggestion.

In the meantime, I invite everyone to check out my other videos.

  • Woah, that's a ton of great movies in there. Looks like La Strada, a Hard Day's Night, Un Chien Andalou, Monkey Business, Nosferatu (remake tho, so lame), Rashomon, and mon favorite dans cela est Chungking Express. Fantastic ensemble you got there, sir! Woof!

    I want more!

  • Thanks, L3. The titles of the movies I used are in the "About This Video" box on the right.

Sorry you don't like the 1979 "Nosferatu," but it's my tip of the director's beret to Werner Herzog.

    QUOTE: "I want more!"

Are you saying that you want to see more videos of willy-nilly film clips?

    Thanks again!

  • great coleection !!

  • Fellini,Bunuel,The Marx Brothers,Maya Deren,Orson Welles etc.,not bad.

  • Thanks. I'm glad those names mean something to a few other people!

  • i couldn't agree more with the title

  • Don't say I didn't warn you!

  • Hey cool video!, Were you on LSD or something?

  • I don't remember. I was tripping at the time.

  • do you need drugs to make such videos?

  • No, you just need to be cursed with film clips running through your head every time you hear someone talk.

  • mhm.

  • i saw paul maccartney

  • it makes me remember the cursed tape of ringu lol, i liked it:)

  • did I hear a line from bob dylan's "don't think twice, it's all right"?

  • Oh, I get it: "You just kinda wasted my precious time/But don't think twice, it's all right."

Nikki should sing that line of the song in her videos.

  • great clips! i love citizen kane! :)

  • Me too! I'm glad someone else does as well.

I'm also glad you liked the clips.

  • AHAHAHA

i was actually laughing out loud.

    your clip choices were excellent.

i think i snorted at "we're not relaaaated"

i really like the skeleton from que viva mexico :D

  • Thanks for your nice comments, Nikki, I'm glad you liked the video.
