I am a Democrat in 2008 because I want the executive branch and the Fed to do everything. What do we need congress for? Decide if and when to go to war? Let the president handle that. Keep the executive branch from breaking the law? Sounds like a job for the Justice Department. Make laws? That's what bureaucrats are for. The budget? Just give the Secretary of the Treasury a book of blank checks. The checks are no good because the government is broke? The Federal Reserve can print more money.
