No commercial flights landing there though. Looks like not too many people are keen on landing there for some reason. Zambezi Airlines used it when they started operations over a year ago but stopped. Also no runway lighting for night landing so Ndola is used instead.

This plane belongs to MK Airlines. How many of these did they have? I have seen one packed at FLLS for over 2 years now, never moved from its location.

You mean Southdown right? If so it is operational now. Runway was re-surfaced. Its good now.

The airport was closed down for repair in 2005, and are not expected to open anymore. Ndola Airport is 60 km south-east

Nice plane... first time seen it... It's pretty weird he added full thrust with brakes... was it that it was taking off when it was stopped by the ground crew or it was just testing them... i dont get it... cool anyway

Not so weird. Aircraft heavy and lost momentum in the turn and then had to use additional thrust to get moving again.
Thrust against Brakes is TABOO!
