I read that a young, innocent character named Chrissi is the one who sings "Frank Mills." Not Jeanie. I think they just got a studio singer to come in and unfortunately didn't credit this angelic voice.
i was 10 when this play came out and now im going to see it on broadway. It was the greatest of times to grow up in so sad for a war that wasnt necessary
I've always enjoyed this song. The lyrics are very sweet with a coming-of-age theme, but it's the melody which hooks me. Some of the intervals sound like a tune Bach would string together.
Probably the poignant song from the Rock Opera. An underappreciated song from a production filled with remarkable music that has stood the test of time, even more so than the songs from Tommy, the other emblematic rock opera of the period.
Annie golden is credited on the soundtrack.gorgeous.

@ Grisbi6 It was in the original cast album (the broadway version). In the later movie version it was cut out apparently.
The clip couldn't be original because there was no video record of the broadway show.

This is definitely Annie Golden singing. Such a beautiful song, I would love to see it in the movie ..

@Winxica4ever I always wanted to know who this was. How do you know it was Annie Golden for sure? It doesn't sound that much like her to me.

Where did this clip come from? It was not in the movie version.

@Grisbi6 I think she did not come in the film, only on the album.
And let's say it was a shame, is not it?
