Perhaps some incentive for the elimination of overpriced fines and penalties. Yet, NOAA im sure is in cahoots with other organizations like the CCA. The CCA can't implement heavy fines to eliminate fisherman but NOAA can and the CCA has a pretty little piggy bank as well, big oil !!! Lots of donations and under the table money is being handed to NOAA to eliminate fisherman. Its not the viewable money concerning me, its the money passed you can't !!!!!
Congressmen consider taking away money from N.M.F.S. that they got from fining fishermen. Congressman John Tierney feels that this may take away the incentive for N.M.F.S. to issue high fines. In many people's view, this has become a slush fund for Dale Jones and his N.M.F.S. cronies.
legal extortion is what it is! thank god their finally going to face the music for it! They should go through their files and give back at least 75% of each fine to the people that were fined IMO and in cases where people were forced to sell a license or boat to pay the fine the gov't should give them current replacement value!
like some of the congressmen are saying now, its time for some house cleaning! IMO at least 50% NOAA & NMFS should be made up of retired fishermen, thats the only way to have REAL checks and balances and to have people who are actually in touch with the industry help make the policies and decisions. That and they need to take into consideration how much a boat makes when handing out these fines, NO one should be put under because they didn't hand in their paper work on time!
look at that criminal Dale Jones squirm! how are they going to get all those documents he shredded after learning of this investigation? I say get the FBI involved! if they were ever on a computer theres no way of ever completely destroying them, lets see what hes trying to hide!!
