I have the same mic. You got it from Wal-Mart right? lol I use my Playstation Eye's microphones. The PS3 Eye only costs $30 and it has that filter built in with 4 Microphones. Its a great investment for a super cheap price.

I have a very simple solution to poor microphone quality.If you own an xbox360, you can take off the foam from the microphone that comes with the console and put it on your microphone from your headset(Or whatever you are using).This protects it from hard "P" or "F" sounds and wind, however, it does not protect from static.Sometimes you just have to beat your microphone around a bit to get the static to cease but that may just break it.I suggest getting a Logitech microphone to stop the static.

hey dude you like to hear yourself talk or something because you say alot of words but you have no idea of what you are saying. the pair of you mom's pantyhose and the hanging devise you made are put together to form a windsreen or wind sock, which will help w/ your "P" pops. The "S" problem is called sibilance, when you havethat prob. you need to use a different mic, maybe a condencer. get some audio books or something. you would make youself sound more competent. That mic needs much more of a gap between the pop shield and the diaphragm.

Also, that looks an awful lot like a shotgun or a "spot", neither would be great for vocals.

Like irockvdo says, a condenser would be much more beneficial, and definitely in mono, there are many cheap condensers from people like Sony.

@mooeypoo Switch to pantyhose. This is the same concept of what recording studios have been doing since the beginning of time. Pantyhose work best and that'll solve the "muffle" problem. Also, you can rig it to screen between you and the mic without covering the mic if you prefer (which will allow the mic to pick up ambience in the room filling the audio back up with a fuller sound

Have you tried a sponge? ... sculpting it into a roundishly clownnoselike ball (or leaving it boxy), cutting into the center, and putting it over the top of the stick mic. Might be a lot faster to make. It looks like that is what the pro mics use. Probably very effective in smothering any air movement from Ps and breathing. (I might try this next opportune time; curious about the result.)
