  • Great moment in Steelers history!!!!!

  • fuck the steelers. really.

  • The ball bounces back toward the line of scrimmage because Tatum was running in that direction. He hit it last. Fuqua was running cross field. Madden's statement that the play is illegal if Fuqua touches the ball at all is incorrect. If the ball goes from Tatum to Harris - which the trajectory of the bounce strongly suggests - then it doesn't matter if Fuqua touches the ball first. Super Bowl V has a touchdown play where the ball bounces from Colt to Cowboy to Colt. Same rules here.

  • What you Raider crybabies don't get is this: even under the replays rules of today, this is STILL a touchdown! Go ahead and watch this play over and over again from 5 different angles.....there is NO conclusive PROOF that the ball ever hit the Steeler player before Harris catches the ball out of the air from the RAIDER deflection. .....none...period. Instead of crying foul, how about bad-mouthing the 3 Raiders that couldn't rundown Franco Harris? Ref: "The play stands as called....TOUCHDOWN!"

  • @gtmoskater that defies the laws of physics

  • The ball clearly bounced off of Tatum.

Madden incorrectly states that if the ball touched Fuqua, Harris is not eligible. The ball can touch Fuqua as long as Tatum also touches it, in either order.

  • it was illegal as George atkinson said the immaculate deception

  • @16lefthook Dead WRONG dickhead. Read the entire thread, learn something

  • @SteelerGold1 YOU learn how to read ya fuckin` cocksuckin` motherfucker...your throwing your weight around this post like mr know-it-all....I dont care if your MOTHER was sucking off the whole Steeler team from 62-75 that dont make you the expert your making yourself out to be....you honestly have very little knowledge of this from what I have read here....BTW, get your shit straight and dont believe everything you see on ESPN....FUCK YOU!!

  • letsplayFag. Ok, i will believe you instead of the Professionals. I will believe you, a Low life Maggot instead of the film i witnessed from Steve Sabols archives. I tore your shit apart with undeniable PROOF instead of Monkey Conjecture. As per game knowledge, compared to your MASTER you have the brain of a Neanderthal. Your most recent response screams ILLITERATE at best you Moronic Fuck. LOL LOL. Next time, try remedial reading, for if you had, you would know my Father Coached OL 4 Steelers

  • LETSPLAYFAG Such a MAD Monkey. Keep mind others who are reading this thread can plainly see your MASTER is HUMILIATING you beyond words. LOL ROTFLMFAO! care to bare your teeth as Monkeys do with Unadulterated ANGER like your most recent post? So Sorry, this Chimp failed to get his way. We work on PROOF here Sir Monk, care to show yours?? OHHAHAHAHAHAHA FUCKIN OWNED! GOTTA LOVE IT. LOL---FYI- Its Impossible for you to win Vs your Master. Lets see how long it takes for u to figure out why. OWNED!

  • letsplayFag. You are about as entertaining as a child's inflatable punching toy. You bop it, it springs back, you bop it again and you forget it ever existed. It slowly deflates in an unused corner, then one day you throw it away. You are nastier than a five-dollar whore getting a shit enema. You're a waste of time, space, air, flesh, and the rectum you were born from, retard. Maybe you wouldn't be such a Jerk-In-The-Box if you weren't living proof that stupid people should not breed; LMFAO at U

  • Bottom line is this, if the pass had been called incomplete the Raiders would have been beaten by the Dolphins anyway.

  • In the book about the 70's Raiders "Badasses" which came out last year, they're still bitching about that play. I've never seen a team bitch and moan so much about a play that clearly could have gone either way. People (whiney Oakland fans) act as if it was a clear-cut call. It clearly was not. Had the call been overturned, the Steelers would have had as much right to complain, if not MORE. Shut up, fix your franchise and worry about the future. Raiders suck! 35-3!

  • The thing I can't get over is that you are telling me that it hit tatums shoulder (excuse me for spelling) which it did and had no contact with the wide reciver befor and after tatums hit?

  • Raider fans don't cry over anything. The Raider Nation states fact and that is why it is the best fan base in the NFL. Raider Nation obviously knows the rules better than other fan bases. It hit Fuqua which makes it a dead ball. It was clearly the wrong call. Same with the tuck rule ...people do not understand the rules that's why other fan bases are inferior

  • wighty70 After reading your reply, i have come to the conclusion you are both Blind, & as Dumb as they come. ESPN CLEARLY showed it bounced off Tatums shoulder. Maybe you should watch when they run it again. Oh wait, you know more than ESPN who had a Never before seen film on the play from the archives of steve Sabel. Then you go on to say, Raider Nation never cries about anything. Really?OHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. In the April edition of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, they showed Steelers have largest fan base

  • @gtmoskater Nope, bounced off Tatum. Total touchdown.

  • What an awesome play.

  • @gtmoskater haters gonna hate.

  • @gtmoskater ... at about the 2:58 mark of this video, when they slow-mo the hit, you can CLEARLY see that the ball completely misses Fuqua, and then gets blasted backwards by number 31's right shoulder..... end o' discussion.

  • @gtmoskater No, inherently impossible. Fuqua was moving down field, the ball is moving in the exact same direction, when it instantly reverses direction completely. This can only happen if an overpowering force from the opposite direction of the ball's original direction, is applied to it. That force was applied to the ball by Tatum's right shoulder pad. Tatum hits the ball dead-on, instantly reversing its direction, at high speed.

  • Listen to ALL the Excuses by Raider players. LOL. Even this Film CLEARLY shows the ball hit off Tatums LEFT shoulder. CLEARLY! As i watched, Listening to the Raiders Players Moan & Groan even 40 yrs later, I was tempted to shove a Bottle in their collective mouths. ROTFLMFAO! How Embarrassing, how Humiliating. ESPN ran a 1 hour Special on this about 3 weeks ago. Never before seen film from the archives of Steve Sable. CLEARLY showed ball hit off Tatums LEFT Shoulder, + LEGAL Franco catch.

  • @SteelerGold1 It is clearly shown, 'cept it was his right shoulder... legal play, refs got it right, Steelers win... point, set, match! ;-)

  • kewlbreez77 Right! I meant to say right shoulder. What they showed on ESPN was even 5 times more distinct of what happened. Most of the Raiders know this, but they insist it did not happen this way when current videos clearly show it hit off Tatum. Controversy is over, except for the Big Babies that NEED to believe otherwise. These are the same Thugs that never took responsibility for the Stingley hit. Like coach Noll said at the time, they are the Criminal Element.

  • @BigLaxFan94 What! The Steelers won the game but they weren't "better that day". That game was a defensive slugfest and the game stats are mostly equal. The Steelers had a 252-216 total yardage edge ONLY because of the Immaculate Reception play at the end. The Raiders also had 4 TO's to the Steelers 1. There were only 3 penalties total. Its was an even steven game till the very end. Hey, what r u going to do? Fluke things happen in football sometimes.

  • gtmoskater You say the Raiders destroyed the Steelers whenever they played? Really? Look up the scores through the 70's when we met, then get back to me. IDIOT! LOL. Dont forget to look up those scores including PO games

  • @ 3:34 jack tatum talking what might've and what could've been

  • @gtmoskater Obviously the Raiders will NEVER live this play down. The Raiders have been horrible for a LONG LONG LONG time now and they don't look like their getting any better anytime soon. Sorry that you have a senile whacko named Al Davis calling the shots for your sad excuse of a football team.

From John Madden to the rest of the Raider cry babies, you lost the game.. you should have tackled Harris before he put the 6 on the board.

  • isn't it when the ball is still in the air no matter who fucking hits it first it's not a deadball. it's a fucking live ball. weather it hit fuqua or tatum i don't know as long as it's in the air it's live. it's not a deadball until it hits the ground or an incomplete pass. play the god damn whistle. hate raider fans crying over this fucking game.

  • @StriderHiryu1200 The rule was different back then. Nowadays you're right. Back then. 2 offensive players couldn't touch it in succession.

  • @StriderHiryu1200 not in 1972.the rules were different then.if the ball touched fuqua then the franco harris play is illegal and doesnt count.and i think it did touch fuqua's arm.but even if the refs think this they wouldnt call that because it would cause a riot and endanger their lives.

  • @StriderHiryu1200 Obviously you haven't done your research. In 1972 the ball couldn't touch 2 offensive players on the same play. Period! If it did the play is invalid no matter what the results were for the offense. The rules have changed now but back then if the ball touches Fuqua at any point during this play then Harris cannot touch it. That's why Raider fans 'cry' over this loss. I know. I was watching it on TV at the time with my father.

  • @gtmoskater i'm not a steeler fan but it's not cap. it totoally did not hit the ground at all. still a live ball aslong as it doesn't hit the ground. so any raider fan out there who cries it hit the ground. go fucking wear a skirt and stop being a sore loser. shit happens. i'm not saying you are.

  • the immaculate run

  • @gtmoskater

Once the ball hit Jack Tatum, many offensive players can touch the ball because that was the rule. The law of physics state that the ball would not have traveled backwards by only touch Frenchy Fuqua after the ball went over his head. And this video shows the ball hitting Jack Tatum. And Gene Upshaw admitted that the ball didn't touch the ground when Frank O'Harris caught the ball. The ball didn't touch the ground.

  • @gtmoskater It did...but it bounced off of Tatum first. The ball WOULD not have gone in the direction it did if it ONLY bounced off of Fugua Only or First.

  • Da Raiders still whining! What a bunch of sore losers!

  • its still amazing to this day that the Raiders guys (Tatum, Madden) still don't know what the rule was then. As soon as Tatum touched the ball at all, Harris was legal to catch it. Every replay in current times clearly shows that the ball hits Tatum and flies 15 yards backwards. The ball would have had to hit Fuqua's helmet to bounce that far backwards.Bradshaw threw a 80mph dart. Only a guy coming hard in the other direction could have richoetted the ball . It;s simple physics.

  • GO BROWNS!

  • this video is the best proof of this play's legitimacy. bounces off of tatum without hitting fuqua and even gene upshaw confirms it a catch

  • I watched this game ( I was 15). It remains the most incredible ending I've ever witnessed. I am a neutral party (my favorite team is in the NFC). However, all the former Raiders here, sound like a bunch of cry babies. It is blatantly obvious from the freeze at 3:00 that the ball passed Fuqua, and bounced off Tatum.

  • The cry baby Raiders will NEVER live it down HAHA

  • People. this is simple. 2:59-3:01, look at that circle. Once the ball has passed John Fuqua, which it obviously did, there is NO WAY the ball could go Backward unless it hits Jack Tatum! It's simple physics! Jack Tatum is full of shit. He went to the grave unable to admit that he cost Oakland this game by applying a cheap shot to John Fuqua. Simple.

  • @groofoot Rex Ryan is that you?

  • @groofoot @groofoot Rex Ryan is that you?

  • @bozak54 lmao yes you found me! Damn it all. Listen, I'm not a Steeler fan anymore; we'd have been in the super bowl if it wasn't for them! lol and listen, like I said, 'this is a personal matter.'

  • Lucky, unlucky. Legal, illegal. The bottom line this play was only possible because Tatum felt obliged to put one of his patented cheap shots to the head/neck on Fuqua, causing the ball to go flailing into the air such as it did and the rest is history. If he had simply put a clean, hard tackle on Fuqua, the Raiders would have won. By the way Tatum died this year. Too bad.

  • The ONLY reason this was called a touchdown was because the play occurred in Pittsburgh. The officials huddled for several minutes after the game, and the official closest to the play did not want to call it a touchdown. However, they also knew that if they didn't find a way to call it a touchdown, they would have been putting their lives in their hands. 38 years or so of Steeler futility had bubbled to the surface with this horse shit lucky play.

  • @Mikeearls yeah Mike you know it all, you ought to run for President.........of fuckin` Poland

  • Every die hard Raider fan and player that was on the field that day will take to there grave, that it was a illegal catch and should not have been a TD! Teey will never get over it! Can't blame them, as a Steeler fan, I will say we would of beaten Oakland in the 76 AFC championship game had Harris and Blier not got injured the week before!

  • @dfc278

But this video proves that all of those Raider fans were wrong. This video should make them get over it. I always put my feelings toward my team aside and look for the truth. It's time for acceptance Raider fans. And when I talk about the immaculate reception, I send them to this video and they stop responding.

  • @patsrule213 I've found more evidence as to why the Raiders felt it was the wrong call. Rule 8 Section 1 Article 4 Note 1: If there is any question whether a foward pass is complete, intercepted, or incomplete, it is to be ruled incomplete. Some of the officials thought it wasn't a legal play, others thought it was. There was question as to the catch being legal or not. By that rule, they could have ruled incomplete and it would have been considered the right call. But they were still right.

  • I'm a raider fan, and to this day, as heartbreaking as it is to say, that was an amazing play! Too bad the Raiders didn't win, they would have run into the 'immaculate' undefeated Dolphins and lost anyway probably. Because of this play however the Raiders, Steelers, Dolphins helped the AFC to dominate the Super bowls of the 1970's. Those were good times in Pro Football, Free Agency, no loyalty, and high salaries have somewhat ruined the game.

  • Madden should have pulled Lamonica sooner.

  • Raiders suck. great call.

  • RAIDER NATION !!! Cowboys Suck. It's always Halloween in OAKLAND !!! Welcome to the BLACK HOLE

  • You mad, Raiders?

  • franco harris is one ugly fuck

  • @notchjohnson1 ur an ugly fuck

  • @shmots2channel thats not what my mommy tells me

  • And I thought the guys from the Tuck Rule Raider teams were crybabies.

  • @TPTGopher

I can't believe how much these Raider fans complain. Both the immaculate reception and the tuck rule were called correctly, but Raider fans never bring the game when they did get screwed. It was Jan. 1, 1978. The Raiders were in Denver, It was the final drive. Rob Little clearly fumbled the football and the Raiders recovered, but the play was blown dead. Then Denver won the game and went to the Super Bowl.

  • @patsrule213 say what you will about the immaculate reception, who knows... but to say that tom brady didnt fumble the ball after he had TWO HANDS ON IT, just because he didnt tuck it in? that was the single worst call in nfl history. he may not have tucked it in by nfl standards at the time, but the fact that he had 2 hands on the ball should nullify the tuck rule and the idea of an incomplete forward pass

  • @notchjohnson1

That's what the tuck rule is. Your explination is the tuck rule.

  • @patsrule213 the tuck rule has nothing to do with anything when you have 2 hands on the ball... the purpose of the tuck rule is to define a point where the quarterbacks arm isnt going in a forward motion anymore to where it could still be a pass, and a dropped ball would be a fumble instead of an incomplete pass, obviously you know that. but having 2 hands on the ball eliminates the need for the tuck rule, making the rule irrelevant in that situation. making the call complete bullshit

  • @notchjohnson1

Actually, the tuck rule can apply if you have 2 hands on the ball. It is the proper interpretation of the rule and people have said that it is a bad rule and they may be right.

  • @patsrule213 no dude, the tuck rule does not apply when you have two hands on the ball because you dont pass with two hands on the ball, which cancels out forward motion. are you retarded? oh, your just a biased patriots fan, nevermind

  • @notchjohnson1

Then why did it apply when Brady had 2 hands on the ball?

  • @notchjohnson1

You can pass with 2 hands on the ball. How about when you use 2 hands to toss the ball forward. That is a pass with 2 hands. I know the typical pass doesn't use 2 hands. but in strange occurences, you can pass the ball with 2 hands. If you want me to say that it's a terrible rule, then it is a terrible rule.

  • Mr. drzhivago1963. I think Mr. Madden is refering to the rule as it read on the date of this game. The rule was changed during the off-season hence another "Raider Rule." Us old Raider fans are used to seeing this happen over the years, such as the fumble stripped from Brady during the playoffs. There is even a web site devoted to "Raider Rules"

  • @seamusmanion

Actually drzhivago is right about the rule. The rule stated that 2 offensives players could not touch the ball in succesion, but if the ball hit a defender, then the ball can touch as many recievers as it wants. And the rule was not elimanated until 1978, which is 5 years after when you thought that the rule was changed.

  • @seamusmanion

Let me talk to you as an unbiased nfl fan who understands the rules of the nfl. When you watch that "strip" by Woodson in the 2001 AFC Divisional Playoffs, you notice that whoever the quarterback was attempting to throw the ball to a reciever. But he decided not to, and because of that he was stripped. There is a rule in the nfl called "The Tuck Rule" that makes that scenario an incomplete pass. The ball was not touching his body and that makes the pass incomplete.

  • @patsrule213 let me talk to u as a person with common sense, that was a fumble!

  • @dirtyelk1

Common sense would tell you that it was a fumble, but the rulebook, and that's what counts, said that the play was called correctly. It was controversial, and I put the tuck rule as the number 1 most controversial call of all time. We have to go by the rules of the NFL, and the rulebook confirmed that it was an incomplete pass.

  • Prior to this play, winning seasons for the Steelers were few and far between. Ever since the Immaculate Reception, the Steelers have not had more than 2 consecutive losing seasons. I have heard complaints about this play and why, the Steelers lost to Miami a week later anyway.

  • Madden seems to be ignorant of the rules in place during that game at 3:00 of the clip: "If the ball hit Frenchy Fuqua at all, then that would make it a dead ball and Franco Harris can't catch it..." Wrong. If a defensive player touches the pass first OR simultaneously with OR after its having been touched by only one offensive player, then all offensive players become and remain eligible to catch the pass. Fuqua touching it doesn't make it an illegal play. #31 SHOULD have batted the ball down.

  • Greatest play ever! It shouldn't even be considered controversial.

Apparently, neither John Madden, nor the Raider players know the rules of that time. The ball clearly hit Tatum first, which makes it a legal play. Maybe the officials weren't aware of that fact, but nevertheless, they made a good call.

  • The Rumor after this game was that the referees was in the dugout on the phone with the pittsburgh PD and asked how many cops do they have available for protection because he was about to tell everybody in TRS that the ball hit frenchy and the td was illegal and when they said they didnt have enough officers for him then the ref called Touchdown

  • @Tito1701

I don't think that's right. I think that the referee went to the telephone and called the person who does the instant replays on television. That person checked the instant replay and determined that the ball touched Jack Tatum, which would have made it a legal play. He told the referee that the play was legal and that's why he called it a touchdown.

  • @patsrule213 Except instant replay wasn't admissable at the time, and wouldn't be until 1986. I think the ref called up the game supervisor because there were some officials who thought it was an illegal play, the game supervisor asked the refs opinion, the ref said it was a legal play, so the game supervisor said it's a touchdown then. That's my theory of what happened over the telephone.

  • @Eclipton

There wasn't actual instant replay, but if you were at home, you could see an instant replay. And that's what I think happened. The referee asked the person who does the television replay to review the play, which was illegal at the time. They denied that he used a television replay to determine the call, because that was illegal, but that is just my theory, and you can feel free to disagree with me. Maybe the game supervisor runs the instant replay for televison.

  • lol funny how people still fight about this... nothing can change it now, and ffs who cares if one team played dirty notice who i said "played" not plays, this is wayyy back in the past rules change, 2 things jack owns and that was a great catch, even if it wasnt legal i still say thats a great catch

  • Rest in Peace, Jack Tatum.

  • @RudeCustoms He should have gone for the ball.

  • Yeah, how about the illegal hits to the head that dirty players like Jack Tatum and George Atkinson would do on the wide receivers? Very typical of a I heard it said...

"a nigger thug hit". Hit em hard to the head and move or run of. Look at what happened to Darrell Stingley? Jack Tatum was never penalized. You would figure this was the dirty type of way that the raiders would play...they would take illegal forearm shots to the head of the wide receivers. No penalties You lost raiders!

  • @2003Brad Different things were legal and illegal then

  • madden said it would have been a dead ball, i thought if its tipped by anyone and is still in the air its any bodies ball?

  • No doubt the ball hit Tatum. It may or may not have hit Fuqua subsequently, but the rule at the time said, "if a defensive player touches the pass "first, or simultaneously with or subsequent to its having been touched by only one [offensive] player, then all [offensive] players become & remain eligible" to catch the pass, " but I can't see how the refs could've been certain that it went that way. Only replay could confirm that, & it was inadmissable, so the play should've been ruled dead.

  • please the ball clearly hits Tatum on the shoulder pad....clearly watch the replay...the ball never hits the ground.....easy call....it would've held up even in today's NFL with the replays....so give me a break OAK.....it's not my fault your QB "the snake" was always snake bitten.

  • @L2MJay1 in your fucking dreams hands down. LOL u sound like that dumbass Al Davis. fucking crybabies. Everything that happened in all the super bowls and the playoff games were meant to happen. I will say the tuck rule was bullshit though.lol i think it had something to do with 9/11 and making sure the Patriots won their first that year. but fuck ur little whining about how u'd have two more super bowls

  • @LightsOutNukeWinter Actually, watch the NFL Network.

  • I'm not a raiders fan, they suck balls and I know it

  • @nathanjamesbaker the way the ball is launched violently back towards bradshaw proves it collided with an onrushing tatum, probably the hard plastic shell of his shoulderpads. because fuqua was moving towards the endzone the ball could never have redirected backwards like that. its simple physics. as for whether it ever contacted fuqua, there just isnt clear evidence one way or another. therefore the [play should stand.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks Nathan - it doesnt matter - Raider fans like BubbaBOOBIE here will not listen. He is a loser, and losers will never listen nor learn. He probably thinks Kennedy was killed by more than one person.

  • you're right, I won't listen to you........cuz you're a dick....Steelers sucked in 2009, they sucked against the Rams in 79 sucked against the Cardinals in 08, and just suck in general as an organization...if the Steelers had any class they would give back 4 of their Lombardi trophy's for their history of boring football, and getting cheap wins against pathetic NFC teams who they barely beat.. Pittsburgh, what a sorry place, but what do you expect from a place called PITTS-burgh,go Browns!!!

  • Bubba Boobie HA HA HA HA HA LOL!

  • 79 Steelers = 12-4

    08 Steelers = 12-4

Yeah, they sucked alright - what was the 1980 Raiders record? HA HA HA HA LOL! This is too easy - is this all you have Raider Nation? This bubbaboobie loser? Pathetic! LOL!

  • Hey Bubbaboobie - stop sending me personal messages - I am straight - stop it fag. I am sure you can find some fags in your Raider Nation. Go send them personal notes.

  • Comment removed

  • I am not gay, I am straight - stop sending me personal messages.

  • @bubbabubbabooba your an idiot you forget your history in the 76 playoffs the best team was the pats they was winning the game against the raiders make a first the sit on the ball win the game.it was thrd down they threw a pass and the raider held the te arms behind his back in front of the ref,he never called it. next game they played the steelers with their two 1000 yard running backs out for the game.

  • @PLANBELA you dumb fuck.........the Patriots lost the game so how could they be the best? only a pea brain like you would say something like that. Can us raider fans help it that the refs didn't see Vilapiano grab Russ Francis.......or when Atkinson puched Francis through his mask and broke his nose......the Raiders were masters at breaking the rules.....but its great to hear wimps like yourself whine about it..bwa ha ha ha!!! OAKLAND RAIDERS1976 WORLD CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TommyC503 I just have one question for you. How old are you? If you still find the word boobie funny, then you really probably aren't old enough to realize that it hit Frenchy, therefore it was a dead ball. I do believe that the only reason the Steelers won that game is because of the fans, and what would have happened if it went in Oaklands favor, and before you reply anything back, I'm neutral between Oakland and Pit, so don't say "The Raiders fan is just mad because his team lost."

  • @highendassassin13 You Raiders fans are just mad because you lost.

  • Comment removed

  • "Its caught out of the air......Franco Harris is running for a Pittsburgh touchdown!"

24 Steelers won 4 SB's in 6 years -next closest - 5 49ers won 4 in 8 - Steelers of the 70's were the greatest NFL dynasty in history - read it, weep and die -LOL!

  • are all Steeler fans total losers like you ? Steelers of the 70's were lucky and boring..........barely winning over those historicly pathetic NFL teams, 1979 Rams and 74 Vikings. Raiders destroyed their opponents in the Super Bowl to leave no doubt. Steeler "window curtain" defense was all on steroids........

  • LOL! Its hilarious watching you make a total ass of yourself - really hilarious. Loser.

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe we should give those to the Raiders? They were so tougth those years! HA! Man - look everybody, this Raider fan is as dumb as Al Davis! HA!

  • oh yeah dork, dumb ass Al Davis's team KICKED YOUR STEELER ASS in 2009..........what a bunch of pathetic losers the Steelers and their fans are..........

  • Let me say this.....I will take a Super Bowl trophy in 2008 - a 6th ring that put us on top in the history of the NFL knowing that we would lose to the Raiders and not make the playoffs any day of the fucking year! I look at it like feeding the homeless (insert Raiders and Raiders fans). Its just throwing a bone to the laughing stock of American Sports - the Raiders fans. Chew on my bone bitch! LOL!!! HA HA HA!! LOL!

  • If you take your Raider glasses off - you can see that Tatum hits the ball - as the ball comes off of Tatum on a line for about 10 yards (if it hits Fuqa, the ball would have bounced straigth up in the air). Tatum was head hunting instead of going for the ball - Raiders lose. Steelers go onto to become the greatest team in NFL history - you lose, Raider Nation loses, I win - end of discussion!

  • That was an amazing win we had against the Steelers this year though!!!

  • you are the first person ive ever heard come up with that theory lol

  • cowboys and giants have a big fanbase too though.

  • Steeler videos have the most fans from other teams commenting on them. Has any Steelers fan ever wasted time on another teams' video, say a Raiders video? I don't think so. Why people even bother with these whiny douchebags I don't know. Success has enemies, and the most successful team in the NFL naturally would have the most crybabies whining at them.

  • The snake got skunked

  • Why you has to swear like daiper boy he has not grown up yet . He should be spanked for talking the way he talk.

  • I wish Franco and Rocky were healthy for the 1976 AFC championship game against the Raiders. That would have been one helluva game. Who know what would have happened.

  • uh, those two players were healthy in game 1 of 1976 season and game 3 of the 1977 season, both won by the Raiders. So it's pretty obvious the Raiders would of won the AFC title game as well with Harris and Blier in it. The Raiders owned the Steelers at that time..........

  • I am not so sure. If you remember the Steelers lost to the raiders in 1974 in the regular season 17-0 and beat them in the championship at oakland. in the 76 regular season game, the steelers held a sizable lead in the 4th quarter but the raiders came back. The game was extremly close. IF franco and rocky would have been healthy for the AFC championship game, it would have been a tossup. As far as 1977, that was an off year for the Steelers.

  • well the way I see it, the two teams were evenly matched and luck decided who won. Raiders easily couluv been the team that won 4 Super Bowls. In 1972, we all know that luck decided that game with the luckiest play in NFL history, which I call "the immaculate Christmas present"........in 1974 AFC title game, luck was with the Steelers again after emotionally drained Raiders from Miami game, ran out of gas in 4th quarter. 1975,lucky frozen field "froze" the Raiders passing game.

  • To say luck was with the Steelers in the 1974 afc championship game is nonsense. The raiders had home field advantage for that game. Miami was on the decline at the time. As far as 1972 is concerned, the only reason Stabler scored the touchdown is because Dwight White was not on the field for that play. It was THE ONLY play he missed during that entire game. (He had a stinger). In 1975, the field kept an inferior team (the raiders) in the game with the Steelers like the 2007 Miami/pgh game.

  • no,no,no,no,no..........Miami was still a good team, in 1974 were 3rd in offense and 6th in defense. 1974 Steelers lost to two lame 7-7 teams, Oilers and Bengels, but did lose to one great team, the 74 Raiders 17-0 as you noted. Gimme a break that Stabler only scored because chubby Dwight White wasn't on the field for the Snake's amazing 30 yard TD run...you know why Stabler was called the Snake? because in his high school and college years he was known for making runs just like that one.

  • While walking through the terminal of Pittsburgh International Airport in October 2006 (I was on vacation at the time) I was very fascinated by the statue of Franco Harris making his famous catch. I passed this statue while following the signs in the terminal that direct you to the tram that takes you to the baggage claim area.

  • I hope the statue has the ball touching the ground like it did in the game..........

  • The Steelers were up by 14 in that ;76 regular season game, but a blocked punt; interception and fumble gave the Raiders field position inside the 30 three times and they got 17 points. Talk about luck.

In the '74 title game the Raiders were at home and the league's #1 offense could only garner 29 yards rushing (on 21 attempts) and 13 points. The Steeler team of Franco, Joe Greene, Bradshaw, et. al won FOUR Super Bowls. Stabler, Tatum, and the bunch from the 70's only won ONE.

  • Bullshit

  • naw.............the Raiders kicking the Steelers ass twice in 1976 was.........good shit!!!

  • The Steelers winning twice as many Super Bowls as the Raiders (6-3)...even better shit!!!

  • oh yeah right...........last years Super Bowl win shouldn't even count.........Arizona was one of the worst teams to make a Super Bowl, and the Steelers barrrrrely beat them.......that gift 100 yard TD return where Warner was clearly held but the lame ref was out of postiton to see it.........and two other Steeler Super Bowl wins in the 70's were also against crap NFC teams, Minnasota and the Rams....

Raiders 1983 Super Bowl champ was better than any of the 6 Super Bowl Steeler teams.

  • Raiders beat the Vikings in SB 11 when they were three years older!

Polamalu was held on Cardinals 2nd TD drive.

Last year's SB win didn't count...in your dreams. Last I looked there's a 6th trophy in the case at Heinz.

You can whine and bitch all you want...your once proud franchise is a pathetic sad-sack organization with only eight winning seasons the last 24 years and one of the laughing stocks of the present day NFL.

  • Raiders destroyed two great NFC teams in the 1980 Eagles and 500 point scoring 1983 Redskins....Steelers never destroyed anybody in any of their Super Bowl wins.

So Raiders suck now, any fool knows that.......But they'll always be known as the NFL's most unique team that played the game in an exciting, risk taking style, and were involved in the leagues greatest and most controversial games....Sure Steelers have had their success, but did it in a boring and forgetable way........zzzzzzzz

  • "Nice" comeback. Congratulations on your "uniqueness."

Keep taking risks in the Super Bowl and getting blown out by Tampa and smacked around by Green Bay.

BTW, Hows that Al Davis vertical game working for you?? JeMarcus Russell to Darius Heyward Bey striking fear into the entire NFL?

And how many days until the Raiders draft in the top five again?

    ..and continue their

    Commitment to Mediocrity.

  • oh you can take your wimpy cheapshots when people are down....thats easy and meaningless........Raider organization has "been there and done that"...........

by the way, how's the back of Lynn Swann's head doing these days? Have the dents that Atkinson made healed yet? wha ha ha!!!

  • Lynn Swann's head is fine. He ran for governor and is a broadcaster. Swann's fingers (with four Super Bowl rings) are doing even better. What's Atkinson doing? Robbing liquor stores?

Hocking his ONE Super Bowl ring??

  • naw....he's coaching his sons who are two of the best track and field atheletes in the state of California..........George is smart to stay involved in sports that made him successful, unlike Swann who lives in fantasy land thinking he's got anything of substance to say as a sportscaster or politician.........Swann should be doing comercials for asprin, I'm sure he has alot of experience with headache medicine, thanks to the Raider defense, that the Steelers had to COPY to be succesful.

  • You're really stretching...Swann IS in SPORTS--as an announcer. And as far as the Steelers copying the Raiders?

Get real. The Steelers were running the Tampa 2 long before Tony Dungy (Dungy said he had the '73 playbook to implement it). The Raiders never had a tackle as good as Joe Greene who could play the split gap.

Talk about fantasy. When you have something more to bring to the table other the Raiders are "special" people or George Atkinson is "smart," then get back to us.

  • Poor babies, they were "tired," after beating Miami. Ahhh... do the whiner wimpy ass Raiders need a timeout?

Again bottom line: Steelers have twice as many Super Bowl victories as the Raiders.

  • @bubbabubbabooba you remind me of the blowboy biohazard

  • jerrysboys2 Hey Asswipe, I see you FAILED basic reading. Listen closely Shit4Brains. 2 Weeks ago, ESPN along with the NFL channel, showed Never before seen angles of the entire Play. Guess what Monkey Boy? The film slowed down to 500th of a second, CLEARLY showed the Ball hit off Tatums RIGHT SHOULDER! Moreover, the ball was subsequently caught a 2 FULL inches off the ground. Play TOTALLY LEGAL in every aspect. Think not, call ESPN's home office, about the airing. GAME-SET-MATCH! LOL

  • @SteelerGold1 lol what the fuck is wrong with you??? I agree 100% with you and have been a Steeler season ticket holder since 1966..why the hell are you saying this??? You wanna talk like that your fuckin` dick is probably 2 inches long. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • letsplaycards40 LOL Sorry, i clicked the wrong poster. It was meant for someone else. Cant blame you though, you probably thought I flipped my lid. Once again, sorry for the mistake.

  • @letsplaycards40 BTW--My Father was Offensive Line Coach for the Black N Gold from 1962 through 75

  • Listen here jackass, I believe that Oakland beat Minnesota for one of their Super Bowls. Does that one count? Don't be mad because the Steelers kicked your team's ass all the time.

  • no you listen, you loser Steeler fan....Minnasota eh, yeah the Vikes sucked, but at least the Raiders beat them to a pulp by 18 points, ran an intercept back for a TD, and knocked Sammy White out of his helmet...that was a Super bowl win with style..not the boring 16-6 win the sleepy Steeler way of football..the Raiders in the 70's played the game with style and flair.....your Steelers were a bunch of fat slobs with no explanation for why they won...pure luck is the only reason I can think of

  • well that "style and flair" still works i guess. ignorant prick. would that be the same style and flair that got your asses kicked in one of the worst superbowl beatings/ meltdowns in history. raiders are a joke of a franchise. steelers win championships because they have a blue-collar work ethic and play physically and disciplined. I think teams are more afraid of your classless fans than the actual players.

  • Doesnt your mother have a Raider tattoo on her ass? I fucked her in the ass and she had you 5 months later.

  • "Its caught out of the air....Franco Harris is running down the sideline for a Steelers touchdown!"

  • maybe you should get rid of your owner, (who looks like a cross between Bea Arthur's pimp and the jigsaw killer) and get someone who cares about winning and integrity; not "lets draft the newest top 10 bust and suck some more sloppy AFC West c@ck this year"

  • You can place your comments here though LOL!

  • I guess those Raiders sure do love cheese with the whine in Northern California.

  • Will the raiders fans and players ever stop crying about the immaculate reception? who knows. At least George Atkinson wasnt in this video. He would have went in an all out bitch fest. "Immaculate reception? Cmon immaculate DEception is more like it"

  • the ball never touched fuqua. if it did it would have changed course in the air. raiders are sore loser. although i can admit it was a tough lose to take.

  • moron!

  • from 1974-1980 steelers 4 superbowls raiders 2 those are my results you can check them .
