the next step will most likelyn be a VR helmet where you will essencially be IN the game world and look 360 around. imagine if you link it to some kind of treadmill device and you could walk and run and lay down in the game worlld. imagine the next step with say,google street view, being able to walk in a city you havent been yet instead of look at pictures.

After having trackir for a few days, I totally agree with this video. Unfortunately, I am using the basic hat piece. but I'm thinking of getting the clip pro.

If you're watching this video and am in doubt, I assure you, that money was fuggin WORTH IT. BUY BUY BUY.. Flying became so much easier just being able to scan as you fly. Infantry work took getting used to, but OMG it's second nature after only 3 days of use.

I introduced TrackIR to a shop chain here in Sweden today. They were very interested and will check if they can sell it. Its a shame theres only a few (or 1 in sweden!) shops that sell them. Sure you can order online, but i really like talking to a clerk when buying things, and it makes it more available overall. Also this chain of shops have a great booklet they give out and millions pick it up over here. :) Great piece of hardware!

Dslyecxi, with Track IR, is it like controlling the game with 2 (yes, TWO!) mice? Mouse One (actually the Track-IR) is used for looking around and Mouse two is used for aiming! Am I right? It could be called cheating! (haha!) Can I use it in my favourite First Person Shooters? (like Battlefied Bad Company 2...and not only for when flying the choppers!) Or Left 4 Dead 2?

@TzeffNL, it's a lot like that, yes. They support a lot of games, mostly it's sim-oriented stuff (flying, driving, etc), but there are some other supporters as well. BC2/L4D2 are not ones currently, but hopefully it will gain traction and popularity and we may see support in th efuture.

How is look (head-facing a.k.a. "aim") distinguished from turn (body-facing a.k.a. direction of lateral movement a.k.a. "heading")?

For example, at 6:22 you're sprinting across a field. How would you change your heading while moving? Is that a situational desire unique to sprinting, or are heading controls on another device (i.e. the keyboard)?

@Maginomicon, heading is done via mouse/keyboard, looking is via TrackIR. When you turn with your mouse, your body moves, and since your head is attached to it, your head view moves as well.
