  • do you have sheet music for the solo part?

  • wow!!!wow!!!wow!!!wow!!!great!!!

  • keep go on!

  • Nice job, that was very enjoyable. I want to start recording myself playing Metheny tunes as well, would you be so kind as to tell me where to find Metheny backing tracks?

  • Exellent! beatuiful sound too ! Great guitarist!

  • That's a lovely 175, and you did a great job with this one. Great tune. They played a typically excellent rendition at the PMG show I was at a couple of weeks ago... I didn't think 175s typically came without pickguards, or have you just taken it off? I need to get me a jazzbox. Nothing else sounds like one..

  • @JRBain7

    I took it off.

  • CAN U SEND ME THE BACKING TRACK?

  • from where do you got the backing track?

  • @shayalm

    Try in guitarbt.com

  • sweet, check my Pat playbacks out

  • Dude excelente! great transcription!! and i love your sound, keep it like that!! hey if you could listen to my version of James, hope you all like it :D

  • Hey man! Nice stuff. I'm astonished you're using 010 and still manage to get a rather fat sound! My question to you: The backing track, where did you get it??

    Cheers!

  • @diederikeggenkamp What do you mean "you're using 010 and still manage to get a rather fat sound"??

To my understanding, 010 strings is what the vast majority of jazz guitarists use, including Metheny, which is one of my very favorite guitarists ever.

For crying out loud, what did you want this guy to use, 012, 013? Did you want him to use a bass?

    :-)

  • really great..

  • sweet

  • Wow! With compliments!

  • Man Congratulations!! hey where did you get the track tihout the guitar??? i wanna have it too

  • Excellent .I love this beautiful song and you really captured it,s vibe .Thankyou

  • very good

  • very good job, you have a lot of talent

  • The part around 2:12 of the title is my favorite part and the hardest to play, but he hit it perfect!!!!!!

  • I don't play guitar but I listen too alot of jazz for years and I know it's very hard to play this title exactly like Pat because of how your fingers have to move to get the Rhythm, Man you are good

  • beautiful

  • omg. pretty good.

  • I'm sure you'd get a similar sound from a great many different amps but I can't resist asking which one YOU used...

  • No amp, only a multieffect (zoom 7.1)

  • That's remarkable. Now I'm curious what sort of setting you have it on. :O)

  • @Guitrax

Hi I'm using a Zoom too but I wonder which setting can archive such a smooth sound?

  • to me you nailed this sound with a clear understanding that pat metheny your not just the same i really enjoyed your mood of this song and look forward to hearing more of your work please keep um coming

  • non mi piace perchè è poco espressivo, anche se le note del solo di pat sono quelle non c'è espressione e a volte sei metricamente scorretto,in ogni caso bravo per averlo imparato a memoria

  • very good job please where i can find the backtrack of it thank you very much

  • Love your playing!

  • Muy bueno. Excelente.

  • I am a HUGE Pat Metheny fan and I enjoyed your video. I have a -09 strings- Fender Tele and a Fender Strat, with a Marshall 50W combo, a Peavey 5150, and a Digitech GNX3000, and I was wondering if you think I could embrace a somewhat similar sound with all of this, or do you think I absolutely need a Gibson ES175 (or the Ibanez he plays) with really think strings, to even think of approaching this style of music....

Anyone who feels like replying to me is welcome.

    :-)

  • I think is possilble get a similar sound with your equipment. The strings I use is a 0'10 string (not too thick) Flat Wound.Obviously with a Semi-Acoustic guitar you will get the best sound.

    Good luck with your search.

  • This just goes to show how great metheny is, his time feel is just so awesome. And your playing is great but still not near him

  • Fantastic!

  • Sound great!

    What amp??

  • Zoom G 7.1 multieffect

    Recorded by USB

  • Eres bajista o guitarrista?

  • Lo que me dejan,jejeje.

Estudié guitarra clasica y ahora tambien estudio bajo, bateria y piano.

  • That was beautiful. Unbelievable.

  • Really wonderful playing! I love the guitar...I can't afford a Gibson ES 175, so I've just ordered an Epiphone (ES 175 Reissue)after much research. It's supposed to be a very nice guitar (for the money). Pat seems to be playing more on an Ibanez these days, but my favorite is the ES 175. Thanks much for the great video.

  • Thanks for this rendition. You and Halcyon nailed this tune --a shining example of Pat's mastery of melody and sense of time. You are a great player. Congrats.

  • One of my favorite Metheny tunes. It conveys such a sense of longing that it never fails to bring me to tears when I hear it. Do you know if vocal version has been done? Thanks again-and keep swingin'...

  • I think doesnt exist(a vocal version).

It will be difficult to sing.

    Pedro Aznar probably could ...

  • great

  • same question: where could I get the background music?

    Thank you in advance

  • hi can you tell me where do you get the background music?

  • The solo is the exactly the same from the disk, is not improvised.

  • Nice job, with a good improvvisation but you have forgot some notes on the theme...

    Is a choice?

    peace & love

    ms

  • Thanks, I try to do a more melodic version.

Next I´ll do an acoustic version with chords.
