@23aima fushigi yugi has two different mangas. genbu kaiden and the original fushigi yugi. genbu kaiden is a prequel manga of the original fushigi yugi. the original fushigi yugi has episodes and manga but genbu kaiden only has the manga.

The short answer is no.

She's really just a character made up for the player.

The character gets pulled into their world via a mirror and searches for her friend while interacting with the priestess and her guardians.

yuu watase is not planning to make episodes for genbu kaiden...yet.

it was actually depends on the sales of the FY GK.since yuu watase stated that there wasn't much of ppl are not anticipated anymore in japan at the new FY after releasing few volumes of it there may not be a chance to make an animation for GK and be unable to make story about byakko

It's almost the exact same storyline as Suzaku No Miko. But Suzako No Miko is the continuation of Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden. You should read it. It's really good, and in my opinion better than Suzaku No Miko. But hey that's just me.

I love Genbu Kaiden! I've always loved Fushigi Yuugi. I have all the DVD's of Fushigi Yuugi including the Art Book, and Im up to manga five but for some reason my book store has only had book 1 for three months so I had to put reading that on Hold.
