I never watched the show I wasn't into it when it aired. BUT I would RUN to the television to catch the theme. I really liked it. Then I changed the channel or went to bug the dog lol
Thanks a million! It's one of my favorite TV series! I even recorded it on video tapes at that time. I'm so glad that I bought the soundtrack and can still enjoy the great music from time to time.=)
Thanks Mahoder777!!!!!!
This is my mom's favorite show. I'm going to buy her the 1st season today. I really don't remember it that much because I was in diapers back then, but I love the theme song!
Was a huge huge fan. Have had the soundtrack since it come out on LP then CD. Love all of Snuffy's work! I'm right there with the rest of you . . . same problems, same kids toys, same hopes/dreams. Just bought the 1st Season on DVD. Interesting to watch being 20 yrs older. Great post Maxother777!
Great show, great music. Funny, when this video came to a close, and the song ended, my brain tacked on the "And danced by the light of the moon" a capella tag that the production studio used to close the credits at the end of the episode. Wonder if any one else had the same thought, lol.
On the original soundtrack CD that came out while the show was running, they had this extended version of theme (which they used to play on pop radio). The CD also has the shorter version actually used to close the show, and that one is followed by "And dance by the light of the moon.
The production studio was "The Bedford Falls Company" whose name was taken from the town in "It's A Wonderful LIfe", which film featured the characters singing "Buffalo Gals" which has those lyrics in the chorus.
this show was on when I was in highschool...loved the theme song...and had a boy crush on Michael...wonder if any other guys found him so attractive....I was such a nerd....but loved that show
I remember discussing this show with a friend at my 20-year high school reunion in 1990, when I was 38. Ken Olin was 36 that year, right in my thirtysomething age group. As a gay man, I can definitely say I liked seeing him on TV and didn't mind at all when he took his shirt off . Nowadays Mr. Olin occasionally appears on Brothers and Sisters, playing the ex of Patricia Wettig's character, his real-life wife who was Nancy on thirtysomething. (How strange to be fiftysomething!)
I'm a Brit and was living just south of Boston in Mass. when I first saw this series - early 1989, and the theme is still as fresh in my memory as are many of the episodes. I need to get this on DVD and re-watch it!
Oh my! This music makes me go all fuzzy! I forgot how awesome this song was. So freakishly nostalgic. And the fact that I am now thirty something myself freaks my freak even harder. Ah, memories of watching shows that were not appropriate for my age. The story of my life!
Im sorry to correct you...lol...but no one loved it more than our group, there was 6 of us three couples, we were all best friends, living in the early ninetys very small children just like Janie, all trying to juggle our respective careers, keeping our friendships and marriages together
this series, was our lives...we literally were the 30 somethings,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I would not have changed it for the world.
No one loved this show more than my husband and I! We were in our 20's when we watched it, and hearing this music brings back such warm memories. It was so well written and cast.
Today, there is another Screen... I am more careful in Heart with care Most actors, some not Human hearts Tender hearts Caught in a net -- No where to care and cry On the screen On the line... And I care today I care today... And today I know why
I miss all these shows :(
