The only way to wean away young people from violence is to educate them so that they can make a life for themselves and live with dignity. A Madrasa is a school; and all schools should teach science, math and history. Being a religious institution, they are also free to teach theology. But saying that knowing the Quran page-by-page is the only aim of Madrasas is sheer stupidity which will do nothing to alleviate Muslims from poverty. Religion should be a way of way, not life itself.

"the bin laden academy of terror" this is a very funny joke to me, probably the funniest i've ever heard on Al Jazeera, but it is a known fact that Obama went to a madrassa as a child, and nobody holds it against him or thinks he is an indoctrinated terrorist (ok, some crazy people believe this, but most people are able to step back and think rationally).

very funny, and fair enough, but in the west this term is used to refer to islamic religious schools, and is defined as such by CNN, New York Times etc, i'd post links to stories, but of course you can't on YT video posts.
