  • I burst out laughing when he goes "Shall I get my cock out?"

  • I always wished someone like this character appeared in a carry on film XD

  • 11 people weren't cut out to be a doctor in a Bawdy 1970s Hospital.

  • Doctor: That sketch was a little bit hard for them!

Patient: Weren't it just? I've had that problem myself.

  • press 7 repeatedly the press 8 repeatedly.LOL

  • haha the 'Everard Horne Ward'

    Ever-hard horn anyone?

    e.g erect penis?

  • @PaulieH18 Also a nod to two masters of innuendo. Larry Grayson was always talking about his friend Everard while Kenneth Horne of 'Round the Horne' fame.

  • A perfect contrast between 70s humour and modern humour - subtlety.

  • "Would you like to grasp my rod, that's inuendo,

would you like to wank off my cocks, is not..."

    bahahahahaha

  • I spat my beer all over the keyboard at 0:32.

  • @Misishaxi was it an alcoholic lager beer?

  • My wife asked me for a double entendre once so I gave her one

  • too little too late.

  • I think Mitchell and webb should replace david cameron and nick clegg to lead coalition goverment.

  • henimor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I thought youtube was down, but I twisted a few knobs and flicked a few switches and got it working just in time to see the climax.

    Oo err missus.

  • One of my favourite sketches! :P

  • It would be a lot more fun to be a patient here than a normal NHS :P

  • Askwith is the second name of a guy from the comic Viz...

  • they should make a new carry on film like this

  • at 2:00 when David Mitchell turns up is anyone else thinking 'Hennimore!!!!'

  • I loved this clip; however, I had to fiddle a few knobs until I could hear it properly!

  • @Broadercasting what, you mean you had to wank loads of men's cocks?

  • @MadOldPete You're obviously not cut out to be a contributor to a 1970's style video clip page. I'm afraid I have to ask you to leave these comments. Just leave discretely. Please take the front entrance and make sure you don't bang it too loudly as you come out of it.

  • @Broadercasting what, you mean ... have sex with it too loudly? with your cock?

  • @MadOldPete Just noticed your comments and laughed my head off. :D

  • I wan't to go back to the 60's and 70's :D

  • i wish i had been alive in the 70s

  • Sid James would be proud...or confused.

  • possibly my favourite Mitchell and Webb sketch. just for how vulgar it is.

  • this is one of my favourite sketch's

  • XDXD! bunch of cocks.

  • ow urrr misses...

    to late XD

  • @mylesbradley1234 *Ooh er ;)

  • 'Shall i get my cock out?'

that must be one of the greatest lines EVER XD

  • 'Let me try to explain. Would you like to grasp my rod is inuendo. Would you like to wank off my cock that's not.'

'There's no need to make a scene. Just leave discretely. I think it's best if you use the rear entrance and go up the back passage.'

  • but i don't find much of the fast show funny, ony bits of it. oh well, that's opinion for you

  • so clever

  • would u like to graasp my rod :P

  • I want to work in a bawdy 1970s hospital.

  • I'm afraid you may not have the spunk for it

  • in your endo

  • scrubs ;)

  • NB Askwith was the name of the actor who played the lead in the awful 'Confessions of a ..." series of films.

  • He wasn't in "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind."

    Or "Confessions of a Shopaholic."

  • Comment removed

  • I was obviously referring to the highly relevant 1970s franchise; not to much later irrelevant films which just happen to have the same partial title.

  • I know. Just teasing with you. :P

Plus I found it funny at the time that the genuinely uninitiated might confuse those bigger Hollywood titles with the Robin Askwith series. LOL

  • Haven't been the same since my sense-of-humour by-pass, lol.

  • this is to good for words .!

    :) :))

  • I love inuendo

  • Oo-er, that sounds as though it might be an innuendo, lol

  • Fucking briliant. Total joy. Maybe even strength through joy.

  • NAZIII!!!!! :-p

  • I love the way the music just continues after he leaves the first time XD

  • so funny

  • shall i get my cock out lmao

  • Absolute genius. In awe :P

  • EVERARD HORNE WARD- Everhard Horn Ward! LMAO - brilliant!

  • Maaaattttrrrrrronnnn!!!!

  • Oooh Er Misses?

    Too late...

  • thats probable the best punch line in history

  • So...do all doctors in 1970s hospitals have large rods in their office?

  • Comment removed

  • watched this since the 1st episode of series 1, fell instantly in love with it, its quality :)

  • LMAO.

"shall i get my cock out?"

  • thing with mitchell and webb sketches is that theres usually no real punchline to them and they take some time to make sense. i think thats what makes them so different, and hilarious.

  • Ooh err mrs

  • if for example i said would you like to grasp my rod, thats innuendo, would you like to wank off my cock is not

  • I'm not trying to be funny, as a sexual pervert I say this all the time.

  • oh you genius

  • Shall I get my cock out ?

  • lmfao i remember laughing so much when i first saw this. It buries Carry on films into the ground

  • "you might feel a small prick"

  • LOL love it

shall i get my cock out?

  • i love Double Entendres

  • i love peep show love the first series of mitchell and webb look and mitchell and webb ituation bt this 2cnd series was not in the same league as the first. some sketches were genius others seemed rushed. i just hope they improve it for the 3rd series coz series two will be the first mitchell and webb dvd product i won't buy lol

  • I thought the second series was a major improvement. Less wildly hit and miss (those snooker commentators just weren't funny), but more ingenious sketches. (Cheesoid!) Some of it still didn't work, like that Cricket sketch, but I definitely thought it was more consistent.

  • yeah i mean some of the sketches were absolute genius but others were a bit dodgy which for me i thought it was a bit more hit and miss, not saying the first series wasn't but in all i felt more satisfied with series one whereas series two i always thought there was something missing, but i get what your saying lol

  • I quite liked the snooker commentators.

  • Sooooooo good hahahahaha.

  • Christ, how sad do you have to be to have an srgument over shit on Youtube??

Anyway, getting back on topic, brilliant parody of the Carry on films, Mitchell and Webb are comedy gold :)

  • A lovely parody of the Carry On films.

  • yes Do you think the Nurse looks a bit like Barbara Windsor in Carry On Doctor

  • sounds like her more

  • Nice to see so much maturity. On a lighter note, very funny clip, I love David Mitchell :)

  • What is wrong with everyone?

What are you achieving by calling each other 'retards'?

  • I think you are all calling each other retards as you don't understand the parody of this piece. Maybe not old enough to remember the original material. Anyway, behave children!

Oh and miss exclamation hater.. check this out

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah. real mature. lets have an argument on youtube.

    christ.

  • Writing incorrectly doesn't make you individual, just ignorant of the rules of the english language.

  • you suck

  • And so do you matey. Can a ask how you got involved in this convo ??? And you have no right to say a suck. Ahm goin to eat you k.o

  • In many ways i find this to be, dare i say it, the new Monty Python! It is the only sketch show currently that stays fresh and funny with just as many random one off sketches as re-occurring character situations. These 2 really are a breath of fresh air compared to the mediocrity of Catherine Tate and Little Britain sketches.

  • Bad day at school, kid?

  • If you're not a child who's still at school then you'd have to be retarded to come up with stupid comments and replies like you have, plus that amount of exclamation marks is childish, or, retarded.

  • Why does every word start with a capital letter? That just makes me think your response is as retarded as you.

  • xrandomgirl, the "mighty boosh" is shit because it doesn't actually have anything funny in it, just random words strung together to make teenage girls giggle and buy all the merchandise.

  • best sketch in the new series

  • Cheers ! Thanks for sharing here..

  • shall i get my cock out? priceless

  • <3 mitchell and webb i agree that they're the best thing on at the moment sitcom wise :D :D

i used to like catherine tate but now i find her catchphrases a bit boring, it's all become a bit predictable. mitchell and webb are so random- you never know what's coming next lol

  • Definitely, thought the Peter Serafinowitz show was good too. There are so many shows on the BBC that I wonder how they ever got comissioned: Two Pints, Catherine Tate, My Hero, My Family, that one with the guy from Only Fools and Horses moving to the country. Ricky Gervais had a real point with his lowest common denominator comment in Extras and people watching anything if it's on after Eastenders. That's why Charlie Brooker's screenwipe is banished to the graveyard shift on BBC4.

  • 2 Pints = atrocious, and Tate - yep My Hero awful and I just got an email telling me the BBC were filming a new series of My Family at Pinewood studios....Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • It's not a sitcom....

    it's a sketch show...

  • o right okay :)

    will remember dat in future

    still awesome tho :D:D

  • lol, sorry, im a media student and we get this drilled... especially with the mighty Boosh... i think it's a sitcom and my teacher thinks it's a sketch show :S

  • Your teacher's right, sorry mate.

Sitcom's are things like Peep Show, where there's a continuous storyline (and most of the time they don't have laughter tracks)

  • Aye but i think just because the situation changes with each series doesnt change the fact that it is comedy derived from the situation of the characters

  • gfgdafgdf let us know what you consider to be good contemporary comedy then. Catherine Tate maybe, or the genius writing of "My Family"?

  • For your absolutely misinformed information, I was merely expressing an opinion. Everybody is entitled to express their particular preference-we do have freedom of speech (or so I am told!)

By the way. Not one word passed my lips, I did infact type my previous comment, not say it. Moron!

  • do you think anyone actually cares what you have to say about it?

  • looking at the BBC POV board/newspapers A LOT of people are saying this show isn't funny - their fans for some reason are terribly loyal though - I did read one fan's comment which said the show was "disappointing, but would stick with it out of sheer loyalty"

    oh dear....

  • As for 'public school', these two both went to cambridge, and I know for a fact that David Mitchell had a very wealthy upbringing. incidently, all six members of Monty Python went to Cambridge as well. If you don't find MP or M&W funny, you are officially void of a sense of humor.

  • I think you've miss understood the meaning of the term 'public school'.

Public schools are the privately funded fee-paying schools generally attended by children from wealthier backgrounds.

  • Yeah, its the wrong way round for some reason. Public means private. Hate Sociology.

  • Can somebody please upload this without a distracting "BBC TWO" pasted in the top, left-hand corner?

  • Its only a logo...

  • Well, its a distracting logo and its not in the actual show!

  • Worst attention span if you get so disctracted my a small, still, translucent logo tucked up in the corner that you can't watch the video :3

  • love it!

  • I wanna be a doctor in a bawdy 1970's hospital! I'd never get my cock out or anything! hahaha --- M&W rule!

  • Grasp my rod lol

  • Ha ha! Good stuff!

  • If ever I fall ill, I hope I end up in a bawdy 1970s hospital!

  • that was great, best hospital show has to be Garth Merenghi's Darkplace though!

  • haha, i was doin this all last week, no way!

  • Would you like to wank off my cock... that's not.

  • hilarious "do u want to rub them on my cock"

  • yeah guys, great place to talk about illegal downloads, on the a BBC channel video. Real smart.

  • the padlockigami sketch was hilarious. anyone one know where o find it

  • message me later, i might be able to help with that.

  • I found it :D Try searching Primetime Welsh TV

  • I know it's a completely different style of comedy, but this isn't a patch on Peep Show. Come on guys hurry up and finish filming series 5! Although this series is vastly better than the first series of Mitchell and Webb.

  • agreed

  • also agreed

  • a) yes it is completely different, it's a sketch show not a sitcom xD b) Mitchell and Webb don't write Peep Show, they provide "additional material" and c) it's a matter of opinion. I love both =)

  • I think some people are expecting it to be like Peep Show, which obviously it's not going to be.

If you compare M&W to other sketch shows at the moment, like Little Miss Jocelyn, Catherine Tate or Armstrong & Miller, this is probably the best one.

  • series two is so funny :L

  • "ooo er, missus?"

    XD

  • "too late"

  • Cousin Jerez, did you actually see the first series? None of them are tweaked slightly like Little Britain. For example every Numberwang sketch is different

  • first series was much better.

series 2 so far is only slightly funny.

  • Nah, I think they've written the character's better in this series.

  • I havn't found this series as impressive as the first so far.

But it was a very good first series.

And it's still better than some of the other things that have been on, like 'Ruddy Hell! It's Harry and Paul' and 'the Armstrong and Miller Show'.

  • Genius. The Mitchell and Webb look is by far the best comedy on TV at the moment in my opinion

  • CousinJerez i would just like to say that this Mitchell and Webb sketch, like many others, is a one off so i dont quite understand why you have compared it to lou and andy

  • genius the funniest comedy on the tv at themoment no matter what ANYONE says

  • I wish I could record Big Bang Theory & skins at the same time >=( GRR..

  • skins is great and big bang theory is pretty good - but watching the first episode the canned laughter seemed really really over the top.

  • Yep.

  • big bang theory is awful.

  • lol can't wait for this series to return! =]

  • yeh you have a point abouth the whole thursdays are funny thing.

but this is good (in most peoples opinion)so dont be a complete ****

  • in fairness, you cant judge it (and neither can i just go on about how good it is) until youve seen a few episodes of the new series.

  • M&W have said that they do not intend to do many repeated sketches in order to keep the show fresh. This includes the snooker commentators and Big Talk. Numberwang has become the conspiracy thriller, the Numberwang Code. I'm looking forward to Thursday.

  • you do know this was around before little britain, and the humour is quite different.

  • and much better
