Hardys1995--->I saw Speed Racer(& Astro-boy, Gigantor, Marineboy & the British import, Thunderbirds) when it first came to American TV back in 1969( I was 3... I've been reliving my childhood since I was 6...;-P ). I came out of the theater in a daze, but later came to describe S-P as 'Spy-Kids meets Fast & the Furious if it were directed by Sam Raimi'. oh course it was long. speed racer has been around since like the 60s i think. And that movie just about covered speed's history since then. The mach 6 wasn't realeased until the 2006 speed racer next generation series. i thought it was awful at first because they completely destroyed racer x's storyline, but i watched it again and saw that they fix it at the end of the film.

I loved the movie. It was just a fun summer movie. I just wish it wasn't so long. The fight scenes and car chases were amazing. I want to get this on Bluray to blow the color spectrum out of my TV. It's a shame it bombed because it came out a week after IronMan and a week before Narnia 2. If they were to release it at a different time like Fall when there's not much in Theaters, it would of sold more.

I think this movie acomplished what it meant to: entertain... as a plus is a great cinematic experiment which bends and breaks a lot of cinematic rules and has a unique style and vision to it. And as if age matters, I'm 30. Recommend it to everyone with an open and relaxed mind, wanting to see something refreshing and unique.

Crash and Burn!!! Well I was expecting as much. I'd say the Wachowski brothers won't be doing any movies anytime soon. The movie barely made 20 million on opening weekened and it cost three times that. I mean Avon Flux even had a better showing then this crap! Not a good sign for things to come. With movies like Battle Angel, Akira, RoboTech, Ghost in the Shell on the way which Steven Spielberg just picked up. Yep you heard that right. Well some of these show potential but I have my doubts.

I watched Speed Racer today. I left the theater happy. Though it was a really kidish movie I had to ignore it since they had some of the most awesome action sequences I've ever seen in my entire life. It was like Final Fantasy VII Advent Children but with cars and an extra helping of rainbow. The funny thing was I was becoming restless in my seat while waiting for the next race. It was unbearable. Overall I give this movie a 4/5. WATCH IT, WATCH IT NOW!

I love this movie, they are right.. dialogue won't blow your mind, plot has been done before (then again what hasn't in this day and age?) but it's a movie that's a lot of fun and you will leave the theater with a smile on your face because it's a feel good movie. Definitely worth the money to see in theaters.
