I'm researching the greek arvanites and esp. those from peloponnese . The himariotes from Nothern Ipiros that are greeks, was one of the last immigration movements.

Albanians also immigrated, but today they are confusion with the greek arvanites.

Catholics converted to Orthodox because it was more accepted by the Sultan (The Greek Orthodox Church had a deal with him. You should read about it, the Greek Church and the Sultans were really close. The Himariotet came as Zef, Pal, Gjok etc from Northern Albania

However I know from my family about the Arvanites from Peloponnesos och Morea, that are Greeks and recently I became aware of the song Moj e bukura Morea.

Both greeks (village is called greci and are orthodox?) and albanians immigrated to Sicily in successive migrations 14 15 16 cent. However the confusion remains between the Greek Arvanites that the Albanians and seems not to have an end for political considerations.
