Zanarkand recording was beatiful, and I havent looked at the piano collections version, but in the game version when the actual melody begins, that first arpeggio goes E, B, E, F#, G, A, then when your right hand plays the B,G "chord", your left hand goes down to C and then to G. Then your right hand plays F# for 2 beats while your left hand rests for one, and plays F# for the second. Then right hand plays E for two beats while left hand plays E for first beat and C for second.
Too bad we can't see the actual footage of you playing this... It's absolutely amazing. By the way, have you ever tried playing Chopin's Nocturne Op. 9, No. 2? It's a really beautiful piece, and I think I could probably listen to it forever if you played it, haha. Please do consider! Thanks.
laptop recording is a real pain, but sounds good. The problem is if it's too far away, it gets disjointed or too soft. Too close, there is feedback on the lower registers especially. You must have had to practice positioning your laptop a lot. I still haven't gotten the hang of it. Anyways, very nice rendition.
Er, wow. Waaaay too soft, on my laptop using headphones at full volume.
Otherwise, sounds very nice (only listened to Zanarkand, as that's the one I'm interested in :p). You do play it differently here than you do elsewhere; sounds like the beginning is different, and you play it very differently from the way I do (different versions of the music, I suspect).
Your new way of playing To Zanarkand is cool. But in some parts i prefer your previous version, more original. But not bad. The 2 Chopin pieces you played is terrific. Full with feeling and power. You're a very good pianist!
You mean to zanarkand? Just relax your left hand, because it's much harder to play when it's stiff. After that just paratise it very slowly. That's like almost the only way to play it fast.
But I guess its good this way because I think most of my subscribers are here to view Final Fantasy videos. Im just doubting that have many subscribers because of Chopin, cuz my Chopin way pretty mediocre. Anyway I really hope to show more Chopin pieces in the future. I have a lot in my memory bank, but none of them are finished pieces hahahah
yes, it's been a long tym since you ddnt upload..xD, I think all of us are in the same situation..=S, no tym for almost anything..=S, btw, I liked the sound, but it would be better if u had a micXDD
This is really good Johnny, Wondering when you were going to load new stuff, yeah school eats up a lot of your time, I am in the same situation. The grand piano sounds pretty good though. Nice work!
What are you majoring in by the way? For some reason I think it was engineering? Sounds difficult, must take a lot of brainwork, but I am sure you are a good student since you actually record the lectures =D
Buy yourself a mic (one designed for music), plug it in to your laptop, and you're sure to have better sound quality. Get yourself some recording software -- Audacity is free and does basic stuff. Other programs out there exist if you don't like Audacity or it's not technical/powerful enough.
As far as these recordings go, the music is awesome, of course. But it's way too quiet (as you know) and I am hearing an electronic buzzing sound in the background.
I don't know what kind of a budget you're on here. If you've got some money to spend, look for a decent condenser microphone. These can range anywhere form 40 bucks to several hundred. Since you're not looking for studio-recording level sound, I think you'd be just fine sticking to the lower price ranges. If you really want to go all-out, get a pair of them and a splitter. You can set one up on each side of the sound board to get a sweet stereo sound.
Really, I just recommend you find someone who knows what they're talking about when it comes to sound and electronics or do some research online. Find some guides on how to properly record piano (a difficult instrument to record, to be sure), look for some reviews on various mics, and try and find what works for you.
Good luck! Love your music, wish I had the natural talent you have.

Your zanarkand sounds really cool. Nice play with the pedal. I would like to hear this version in better audio. So I can play it in my car :)

I prefer your old way of recording. I have my speakers at max volume and can barely hear it.

I just got the Piano Collections sheet music last week, and am stuck on the last page (beautifully played here by you). Any tips on the left hand?

Hi, thanks for the guidance. I have no knowledge of microphones. Do you have one in particular that you would recommend?

Zanarkand: Just as good as ever.
Besaid Island: Your second recording a while back inspired me to learn this piece, and you just play it to near perfection.
Nocturne in Bb Minor: Awesome.
Waltz in C# Minor: Holy s***!
And there's your critique. Waltz definitely sounds like a fun song to play! Also, the quality of your laptop recordings isn't too shabby either. 5*
