  • What is this cars average mpg on one tank? My 09 non-hybrid Corolla will get 99.9 mpg in spirts but averages about 34mpg on a whole tank. Oh and my 02 Civic non-hybrid easily gives me 40mpg on a tank when all highway driving and about 36 in town. Just had to brag on it.

  • you suck

  • Why sell a $25000, 60mpg, 2900lbs. car if

a $13000, 50-60mpg, 1900lbs. car can be bought. and be faster, better looking, and far more nimble.

you guys can never answer that ?

WE DONT WANT ELECTRIC CARS, NOR NEED THEM IF CHEAPER GAS ONLY CARS CAN DO THE SEEM. WHY CANT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT.

  • Watch the video again. We are not selling a vehicle here or the technology. We are a not-for-profit electric utility and we are simply testing the practicality of plug in lithium-ion technology to see if it would help us reduce fuel costs and maintenance which could mean significant savings for our member/customers. Greed has nothing to do with it and, by the way, we know now that a straight gasoline powered car cannot achieve the same mileage.

  • you are so wrong and did not answer my ?

why is a $25k car needed if a $13k car can do the same thing.

    nobody admits greed.

  • Where's the beef? I see no facts to back up your statements about $13K cars, not that that matters. You've missed the point I was trying to convey, or have chosen to ignore it. In any event, there is no point in continuing this string of conversation.

  • @mr2ya Cars are getting heavy because they have lot more high strength steel. Higher safety standards are making cars heavy. Electric/hybrid cars are making into market because small light cars cannot keep up. Just compare a smart to a prius. Prius is bigger, smoother and safer. Prius plug in with lithium is suppose to get around 80+mpge rating from epa. In city stop and go traffic prius will get double mpg of smart. Four adults can enjoy travelling vs a small eco box.

  • to bad a lithium ion battery that big would cost all most $8,000+ install and retrofits.

  • this situation dictates that this is a "get it done YESTERDAY" scenario

  • We need these vehicles in peoples driveways...

Not ten years from now, not in a hundred years, but now!
