I wondered why this version sounded just a tad bit not as epic as the other version they did back in '92. I mean Eddie's voice is still masculine as fuck, Mike's guitar still sounds awesome, it had to be the drummer when you really focus on it. Theres no pop to it the way the other drummer had.

This intro (the guitar Stone uses) is better though then the one they use now. The guitar Stone uses today is too "folky" . .. this song needs a "harder" guitar . . . and yes, the tempo needs to be touch quicker

who the hell cares if abbruzzee is not drumming anymore. Matt Cameron is a very telented drummer and serves pearl jam well.  Matt Cameron is not the reason why pearl jam sounds a bit different than they used to......they are all older and are not just gonna sit there writing fast songs with the drummer going crazy on every fill.

I dont like matt cameron at all, I think he is the reason pearl jam sounds the way they have since like '99 when he joined, Dave A. gave Pearl Jam their energy he was the backbone who gave the fast beats and the nice fills between the ride the snare and the hi-hat. you can easily just tell the difference matt's drumming to dave's. When Dave Chamberlain left and Dave A. replaced him you couldnt even tell the difference that Abruzzezse or however u spell his name wasnt drumming on the ten tracks

@ForcesNL Of course 92 was better, because they were touring for their first year, the songs were new and they had so much energy. But if you have been playing the song "Black" for every live performance for 9 years, then the energy will not be as powerful and I am glad they aren't faking it. They aren't as crazy as they were at the beginning, but they are still cool.

Best live version of this music, for me is in Brazil, 2005 ,wich he got completely involved by the emotion of the public and the music itself! More than 10 minutes! But I think this is a wonderful live version too!
