  • Terrible: F

  • I think that this is a worthy modern rendition of the Bach original. The first time I heard it, I thought it was an advertisement and I didn't get it. Now that I see it is not an advert, I get it, and appreciate it for the "modern revision" that it is. I kind-of like it.

  • i liked toccata, until I watched this :(

  • grab the rotten tomatoes!!!

  • Interpretation beautiful;-))).

  • I'm a teen, but I rather listen the original version.

  • Bach, its OK buddy... just let it all out, were on your side.

  • she should be naked while playing this

  • Your weak creativity doesn't let you see... world is in motion . Nothing wrong in picking a beauriful pice like Bach's Toccata and turn it into a modern piece. I'm preety sure if Bach could have all the resources that we have nowadays, he would come wth pieces like that. (not compairing, of course, the author of this arrangement to Bach. don't get me wrong).

  • I really liked it, not better or worse than the epic SKY version just...........different. Myleen has a real talent, who'd of thought it :-)

  • ‎* * * Dear friends, mutantmushroom: Thank you deeply for sharing this wonderful and lovely performance... From this Unique Celestial-Song Music Creator, JS Bach, Music Creation from Heavens-Stars. Have a great time. Best regards, Javier V. Maldonado * * * *
  • whats this song actually called? is there sheet music?

  • @therayray20000 Toccata and Fugue and yeah, everywhere

  • LOL

  • one of the best thiings I have ever heard

  • @bored9318 I agree - its one of the best things I have ever heard also.

  • and what ealce can she play??????????????????

  • She's hot.

  • @HeyRuka You are sherlock

  • If this is a Bach performance, I just don't understand why the video needed to include a pretty open dress, hair blowing in the wind, and romantic posing in front of the camera.

  • @maslina10 I think Myleen would have made things quite hard for him, but I'm sure he would seriously have enjoyed it. Might have found it difficult though to choose between Myleen and the Vanessa Mae interpretation of his masterpiece.

  • I think this is a fine piece.

  • Even though this isn't as good as the original im very relived that modern artists are still appreciating the masters of REAL music. :)

  • this is my favorite version /watch?v=6JX13LwnZss sends shivers down my spine x

  • I see most videos of Vanessa has disabled commenting becouse its a really shit... very awful...

  • Listening to this makes me Balch

  • Comment removed

  • yes..wow..amazing

  • amazing

  • i dont like her but the song is great

  • Nice Bach-less dress....... sorry

  • They should defs have done the toccata theme in double octaves at the end for one hell of a climax :D

  • I was once told; if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. I like this rendition

  • Bach is spinning in his grave

  • @TonyWRO from joy that his pieces of music are still being remixed

  • @TonyWRO yes playing with himself wile thinking of myleene !!!!!!!

  • she was born in 1978 she is not 16 year old

  • Great job!

  • ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET SHEET MUSIC FOR THIS?!? i really like this version and want to learn it!

  • i wonder if alicia keys can play this song .

  • 1:10 is so smooth

  • these people only made it better big time & mylene is so fine

  • These People Totally ruined this Timeless Master Piece.

  • @evilman01234 They certainly didn't - sounds like the voice of another old fart clinging desperately to the past.. You can bet your life Bach would have liked this, but then again he was a true progressive. He wasn't stuck in some musical time warp like many of his so called admirers

  • This is nothing short of a master piece and Bach would be proud! I'm sure he's applauding from his grave. Let creative minds and those who appreciate the finer things in life be and for those who can't go back to your TV's!!! Just saying...

  • I really hope to God that the video I just watched was an advertisement for piano lessons, because if this is for real, the end is near.

  • lets remember when bach wrote this, this WAS POP MUSIC. if he wrote it today, it would be different. bach was a musician, and at that time, you chose the old pipe organ, crappy harpsichord, or the new fangled piano.

  • This was the first version of the song that I ever heard, and then I checked out the original.

I love this - it is very new, original and very different. I like that it's modernised.

I mean if you guys hate it so much, don't be so snobby about it, you can just go and listen to the original, elsewhere, no one's forcing you to be here.

  • i wish i have the music sheet of myleene klass toccato because it has violin..hahahahaha... violin player here... :)

  • I think the new versions of the classical pieces make the old ones more accessible for the younger people. if we left all the old piece were they are in ten years they might be completely forgotten. this way someone might think 'I wonder what the original sounded like' and if not then nothing has been lost right?

  • i love this !!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm SOOOOO TIRED of mean, nasty people saying mean, nasty things. SHE IS A HUGE TALENT, PERIOD. YOUR NASTINESS ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING. NOBODY LIKES A CRITIC. TRY BEING AN ARTIST!!!!

  • nice

  • To people incesantly hating upon this, ofcoourse its not the BEST version of this piece, but TRUST me, coming from a 16 year old, we either let modern artists interpret things on their own, let artists be artists, let them take the music and make it more acessable for people my age or simply let the music die with you... The originals will always be there, but the appreciation wont be unless people stop sneering at todays art with such snobbery, its intimidating people and frankly quite rude.

  • True, but we don't like being surprised by misleading/incomplete titles. I do admire the interpretations of many contemporary artists of these old pieces, but sometimes, it can get annoying and seem wannabe-ish. in the example of this video, the song is good, but the image is silly... last thing, the original music might still be there, but it will get lost under a pile of dust.50 years later, on hearing the original people would probably say Bach is a time traveller who copied off Myleene Klass

  • @propertyofjoey Well said the master pieces will always be with us why simple they are used everyday in films....Adverts for the tele etc etc ....

  • @propertyofjoey This ain't art - the video is horrible exploitative commercial nothingness

  • @Changles The sad point of todays music industry is..sex sells...I dont like it, nor do alot of people but for some reason it sells

  • @Changles That is an extremely closed minded thing to say. Art is about the most loosely defined thing in the world, saying this isn't art is just idiotic.

  • @julian1000 You're right. Thanks for opening my eyes. This is very creative and elegant

  • @Changles Thanks, I thought so too!

  • @propertyofjoey Let it die then. There is no point in appreciating music reinterpreted as such blasphemous garbage as this. It's too easy to forget, that it is the composer whose musical message we aim to observe and who decides how a piece of music should be interpreted and the performer who is supposed to be intelligent and well educated enough to interpret that message accurately. If this is the only way Bach may be appreciated. Then the message is gone and the music as good as dead. I'm 16!

  • @propertyofjoey Dude, just because something is being interpreted in a new way doesn't mean it's good. It can still be bad... and this is bad. This s what happens when you make someone famous because you know guys will want to titty fuck them and not on merit as an artist.

And if this girl is 16, hat's disturbing the way she's behaving.

  • @AshillaBeige I'm not aying its good or bad, I'm saying you dont have to LOVE it but dont be so harsh on it because CLEARLY someone is buying it, someone likes it, and thats life, thats a difference of opinion its just ONE interpretation from a thousand different ones nowadays, most people my age see a certain snobbery with classical music that can be quite clearly stated and THAT is what stops alot of people from listening and stating their opinions on the music THATS what I was addressing.

  • @propertyofjoey Just because people buy Justin Bieber doesn't make it good. People buy crap all the time, and it's fine to be harsh when something is legitimately stupid. It's fine to make critical comments. Maybe you should think before you type illogical nonsense.

  • @AshillaBeige I'm not sticking up for modern music, I'm saying that things evolve and not always in the way we like, this isint the best rendition WE KNOW but at the same time musical snobbery such as yours dosnt make it any better, people like what they like, and they have just as much liberty to, its none or your business what others listen to, music is a universal, diverse language, what you find stupid someone else might find intreguing so unless you're Bach himself..shut up.

  • Comment removed

  • @AshillaBeige My point is not that she's interpreted it this way, its the fact that she can, and that it will make NO SIFFERENCE how she covers it because the music is still the same, you dont have to listen to it cause frankly it dosnt matter..it wouldnt matter if everyone LOVED it or HATED it, this music wont be remembered for this interpretation, it will be remembered as a stand alone piece and THIS isint going to change how we remember it, so let people do as they please.

  • @propertyofjoey Absolute bullshit.

  • @propertyofjoey

its like saying Toccata by Sky was terrible. This chick is the modern version of Sky, when you think about it

  • @propertyofjoey Agreed. People who does'nt like innovation are close minded. This is a piece of art and deserves nothing mor admnmiration.

  • @pcpfree I meant Deserves nothing BUT admiration.

  • @propertyofjoey Wow man, it's really relieving to see someone in today's youth with a little knowledge! I salute you, my friend :-)

  • @propertyofjoey original is better

  • I'm sorry but myleene Klass is totally shit at piano - even Lady Gaga is better than her lmao.. she's totally killed a great piece by Bach using crap pop 'influences'.. alwayys thought this even when it came out when she was playin on gmtv when i first saw it..

  • This may not be Bach's masterpiece, but it's a very good version of it. Besides of the original, this one is the best I've ever heard. The original will always be the original, and nothing will top it.

This video got my thumbs up.

  • @realmystery You are inadvertently so absolutely correct my friend. I believe there are around three thousand recorded 'originals' as you call them. Your statement places Klass exactly where she belongs: she is the best of the brand of Toccata that are recorded in bedrooms on electric guitars and stylophones.

  • le dieron en la madre a Bach... una vez más

  • poor Bach...

  • @Benderrr111 actually I think he'd be very pleased that his music had survived this long, and it was being re-done and re-interpreted even now.

  • @FireflyFanatic3 Various interpretations are refreshing and always welcome. However, I doubt that some talentless media whore can make Bach's music sound better than it already is.

  • @Benderrr111 it doesn't matter who she is or what else she's done, that prejudices you against her and this piece. I have no idea who she is or other things she's done and therefore I am judging meerely the piece and the music on it's own.

She's not trying to make it sound better than it is, she's just using the melody as something to work on to create something new and different, she never claimed this piece was better than the original.

  • @Benderrr111 Your'e just the kind of bigot the musical world can do without. Bachs music cannot sound how it already is, because it exists only on the printed page. How it sounds depends on how someone plays and interprets it. Yes this is different from some interpretations and might not appeal to everyone, but however you look at it Myleene Klass has a talent which I suspect you will never aspire to. Huge numbers of people enjoy her work. How many enjoy yours, or have even heard of you?

  • @Benderrr111 Your just the kind of retrograde bigot the muscial world can do without. Bachs music can not sound better than it already is as it exists only in print. How it sounds depends on how someone plays and interprets it. This version might not appeal to everyone but however you look at it Myleene displays a talent I suspect you will never aspire to. Her work is enjoyed by a huge number of people. Can the same be said for you? I think I detect a huge slice of jealousy.

  • @Benderrr111 what about her } BACK { it looked very nice to me !!!!! along with her legs

  • @Benderrr111 you' re right

  • @Benderrr111 Wtf ? Poor YOU.

  • @FleshStarvingBass hahahaha suck it

  • Well... That sounds modern but nothing can give the real feelings like with organ... With organ you can feel the hatred, sadness, happiness.. Bach knew that so that he made his masterpiece with organ.. In this, all of the enstruments are scream like "please stop this. I dont want to be played."

  • i have the MP3 is anyone wants it

  • Wtf is this. They're making a mockery of Bach's masterpiece with her spastic piano playing and the shitty pop influence.

  • @cchj768 Far from making a mockery of Bach's masterpiece, they keep it alive and allow it to reach a much wider audience. Bach's work is not the property of some music establishment' old fart's club. It belongs to everyone. I have recordings of this work by a number of artists including Martin Jean and James Kibbie (played on original baroque organs). They live comfortably side by side but are all very different. People like Myleen can spark an interest which might otherwise be absent

  • just another sexy idiot who took some piano lessens when she was a kid and now she is playing only with one hand wow I am not imprest at all I think Vanessa mea has more agility and talent and more appeal that is if you have yellow fiver

  • @gabreil1music Don't know about piano lessons as a kid. What I do know is that as a child she attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and later graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, University of London. (bit more than a few piano lessons I reckon). As for playing with one hand, it doesn't matter one bit if she plays with her toes. What matters is substance not style. I don't detect a hint of jealousy do I ?

  • @blackbeasthamish not at all i am a successful studio artist you can check it out and and i earn a living doing it and i am a man i see this all the time the take some one that looks good and make her or him a star and say that they are all that but but no one care if its true or not but any way i see your point about giving some more glamour to music this day any thing that most kid are listening to is crap that would be better to hear

  • 2:13 what is that sound affect called?

  • The piano jizzed its pants...

  • MOAR talent, less Britney spears PLEASE

  • this thing is laughable, sorry

  • nicht schlecht, hört sich sehr gut an, NICE

  • Why is it so windy in that house, and why aren't they in the same room?

  • I don't like, well, females who try be goddamn sexbomb at the same time theyre playing some instrument, violin, piano, what ever.

    Like this one.

  • @FireSath This one is a goddamn sex bomb - I reckon she would have made things hard for Bach if he were still around. ha ha! Oh, and the music's good too.

  • @blackbeasthamish I didin't say she isin't sexy. I said that I don't like girls acting like porn stars while they are making music video about classic music.

  • @FireSath I take your point, but I think this video is a long way from beng pornographic, though I wouldn't argue that its a bit raunchy. I am someone to sees nothing wrong in bringing a bit of glamour into the world of classical music, which is occupied by far to many "old farts" if you will pardon the expression. I suspect you are not one of these however and I have total respect for your views, I just like to think there is a bit of room for diversity and experimentation in music.

  • @blackbeasthamish just another sexy idiot who took some piano lessens when she was a kid and now she is playing only with one hand wow I am not imprest at all I think Vanessa mea has more agility and talent and more appeal that is if you have yellow fiver

  • It's like Bond theme music :]

  • MAGNIFIQUE <3

  • WONDERFULL MUSIC

  • Great !

    @->--

  • Amazing!

  • ke pianoforte lucido!!!!!!

  • AMAZING........VERY NICE ......

  • ~

The violinist beautifully complements Myleene's playing.

Does anyone know who he is?

  • ~

The violinist beautifully complements Myleene's playing.

    I wonder who he is?

  • This variation of "toccata" is a perfect soundtrack for some hollywood film for a youth, but not more!!!

  • Sounds like crap, what a shame.

  • I want her

  • shes so talented!

  • Great. Great music for a car advert. Or maybe a bank.

  • I'm completly agree she is so hot!

  • The most talented person here is J.S.Bach who composed the toccata and the person who has arranged the music with bass n violon . I like it ..

  • Myleene will always be tainted with hearsay!

  • ahhh! Have loved this song ever since I first saw it In Fantasia from Disney!! <3

  • I listen to an ecclectic mix of music including classical and I do enjoy this version of Toccata.

But why are people arguing on here?!? If you dont like the video just go away!

    Thanks to whoever posted this.

  • This is a bit over the top in my opinion.

    To much glitter and glamour.

  • this vid hurt my soul. people shouldn't be worshipped because they are attractive.

  • -just perfect for this fin melancolyholic saturdaynight.. thanks...

  • DISGUSTING. What a disgrace to the original piece. If I want pop, I listen to black eyed peas, not to this.

  • @GoWithTheFlo99 Yet another purist classical luddite - fortunately one of a dying breed. To compare this with the Black Eyed Peas is fatuous - they don't possess any noticeable talent for starters. Mylene Klass on the other hand does, even if it's not to your taste. Incidentally, I also like the more formal interpretations invariably played on large cathedral organs . I think Bach would have been more open minded and actually loved this. He might well have been swinging in the aisles.

  • 1st CLASS from Myleene Klass

She Makes Classical Music Look and Sound SEXY AGAIN

  • Why is everyone talking about Myleene Klass instead of the music? Why has it got all lascivious and corse? This country just thinks about sex ALL the tiome!!!

  • @MrLuvlyJubly I think it is because the world of classical music is inhabited by a lot of old farts who prefer to live in the past. If music is performed by someone young and with obvious sex appeal, however talented they might be, rather than some stufffed flannel suit, it sends them into a frenzy of self-righteous indignation. They forget entirely about the music and channel all their engergies into criticising the performers appearance and demeanour. There - I feel better for that!

  • @blackbeasthamish Good I wouldn't want you to feel sad, then you might actually understand classical music. Never mind.

  • @MrLuvlyJubly I understand and have an appreciation of classical music , having come from that kind of background. What I don't have however is the blinkered dinosour approach to it which many classical adherents seem to display, together with an "I know what's best" kind of attitude. Music is a living entity and should be allowed to evolve. The constraints of the 17th - 19th centuries dictated how it was played but it can still be performed differenttly whilst preserving its character

  • @blackbeasthamish Good for you. Glad to hear that.

  • @blackbeasthamish Agree entirely! Finding this arrangement so addictive I said: "why don't I play anymore??" (used to practice 8 hours a day, passing examinations etc) SO....after many years of ruining my fingers on a pc keyboard, am warming up with some BACH 2 & 3 part inventions.....Wow, it feels wonderful! (Thankyou Myleene, violinist, arranger, director, set visualizer etc.)

  • Wow. Who directed this thing? Who is the set designer? I'll rent it anytime!

  • Cudowny :)

  • Oh Gosh!!! This is amazing!!!

  • I'd love to be those piano keys that she's putting her hands on

  • "There's a draft in here" LOL

    Loved the music tho ^.^

  • I must say that I really loved the spirit of this performance and I really liked the embellishments.... But I really think that there were to many passages cut out that could have really made this work shine. :)

But, I still really like it. :)

  • Such a beautifull song!

Please go and check our version of this song - we're violinists :)

    Enjoy it.

    ** Diamond Strings **

  • windy castle, wind blows everywhere ;)

  • hay wa

  • perfect

  • man, the music is as sick as the video. I'm soo gonna download this

  • genious :)

  • I listen to this everyday. I can't get enough!

  • so beautiful

  • Pure Klasse ....

  • perfection!

  • The original version for organ is better.

  • That is awesome///

  • it was 10 days and I can't stop listen to this track , thanks Mutantmushroom

  • Superowy :)

  • Classical music is very complicated to listen to. I usually have to force myself to listen to a classical piece several times before I enjoy the piece more than a standard pop song. This is why classical music isn't very popular, most people can't be bothered to listen to it and appreciate it or simply don't have the time. This is also why most people prefer watered-down versions of classical pieces, such as this.

  • @andrew190495 so true! and then when it suddently appears to something relative such as twillight movie "clair de lune" or Muse "nocturne Eb" they seem to really love what many usually would even hate(at least what they tell)

Classical music is epic, and rythmical music is for the body.. :P

  • She looks great after her nose job. Kym Marsh has also had one as well.

  • is she the host of the screening room? on cnn?

  • yes she is

  • can anybody tell me where i can find this sheet music please? x

  • @ballat4u : are you deaf?

  • i somehow wish this was played on Organ. But i love this so much... Myleene is an excellent pianist! I'm playing htis at the moment on Piano... and an easy version on organ... But i don't think mines Half as good ! At least.. being as good as Myleene is something to aim for!

  • Its Myleene Class :D great Pianist *thumbs up*

  • Amazing Arrangement...

  • orochimaru theme?

  • To all you CLASSICAL SNOBS who write comments. Any way to open up classical music to a new listeners is a great idea....

  • I love this!
