I grew up during the 1950’s in far northern New York State. My parents owned a bar/restaurant/dance hall that featured live music. Sid Moran, a terrific fiddler/guitarist, played for us. He was regionally famous and had won fiddle competitions both in Canada and the USA. He played this tune on the guitar and always announced it as the Guitar Boogie Breakdown. It may have been called Cecil Macachren Breakdown in Canada but it was definitely the Guitar Boogie Breakdown where I came from.
