F14 is great plane, maintenance was not problem with tomcats, big problem was i lobbing by other firms. one hour of flight on cats cost more then 20000 dollars and near 20 hour maintenance per 1 hour flight....

Its bullshit when some one say its very expensive for maintenance....it has better performance then F18 in all aspect....AtA, AtG...CAP...

The F-14 was an incredibly capable airframe but an absolute nightmare to maintain. The FA-18 was designed with the exact opposite ideals in mind. It did not push for bleeding edge performance but rather was created for extreme reliability, ease of maintenance and low cost of operation. The FA-18 is kind of like the AK-47 of naval aircraft.

@tug82 lol. this vid is most likely made in 2010, and as of 2010, US no longer operates the F-14 and they already destroyed all of their F-14s themselves. only the Iranians operates them nowadays.

the split-second silhouette of the swept wings, and the wide spaced engine afterburner can clearly be seen in the first fucking second into the video. that confirms that IT IS an F-14.
