I agree with most of what you're saying, but to have an effective vote you'd need to vote for what the polls say are the two most popular parties. Otherwise instead of your vote being swayed to 'the lesser of the two evils' you'd waste it on a party with little support and little funding.
There is a party called independent. They just don't have the as many members so they don't have as much money, so you don't see ads by them. Independents!
