The Academy Awards aren't about that. They're for good films that have characters deeply woven into a intricate and beautiful story. It's not about the fucking money or most watched. You obviously have no taste in films and are a good for nothing piece of shit

  • I dont like Javier Bardem (and i am from spain) but for me this was the best preformance of the year

  • it was a forgone conculsion that DDL would win

  • Best picture: Elite Squad (Brasil)

  • Picture: Atonement

    Director: Julian Schnabel

    Actor: Johnny Depp

    Actress: Marion Cotillard

    Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem

    Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett

Adapt. Screenplay: There Will Be Blood

    Orig. Screenplay: Juno

  • Assassination of Jesse James was robbed especially Brad Pitt

  • Picture - There Will Be Blood

    Orig. Screenplay - Juno

Adapt. Screenplay - There Will Be Blood

  • different movies for different people

  • Ruby Dee shoulda been booted out of Supporting Actress and Helena Bonham Carter shoulda gotten in. Dee was good in her five minutes, but Carter in the whole film had the much harder role of making a VERY evil woman sympathetic and likable.

  • You know, Anthony Hopkins was in Silence of the Lambs for less then 15 minutes and he won the oscar.

Sometimes it isn't the length of the performance, but the quality.

Plus, DreamWorks did not do the Oscar push for Carter, only for Depp and technical awards.

  • bahh.. James McAvoy was robbed. He should've gotten nominated for his part in Atonement.

  • Probably he ranked as the 6th?! I supposed.

Nominees can only be down 2 five. So it is.

  • it says 2008, but at the beging they say its 2007 parsnewz got it wrong

  • Heath ledger would be nominated to the next year 2009, but it was about the best performance in 2008.

that was from the last year

  • And he will be, you can bet on that.

  • i remember that i woke up at 5:30 that day to watch the nominations...but those weren't announced till like 5:40

  • OHH!!! No suck!!! 10 minutes of difference!!! That's a lot of time!!! Surely you were completely desperate because the nominations didn't appear... Noooo!!! Hahahahahaha

  • got a problem bitch?

  • the flashes are irritating! they keep pixelating up the video ):

  • where the heck is Tim Burton for Sweeney todd or Helen Bonhem Carter for best actress it was a great movie and should win at least 3 but no Johnny Depp is the only one nominated from Sweeney Todd. No movie comes close to this one not even juno or there will be blood.

  • Fusock, I'd say you were about 99% close to picking the winners. Here are my picks. I'm almost sure that these will win:

Best picture: No Country For Old Men.

    Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis.

    Best Actress: Julie Christie.

    Best Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem.

    Best Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett.

Best Director: Joel & Ethan Coen.

Best Adapted Screenplay: No Country For Old Men.

    Best Original Screenplay: Juno.

  • OSCAR WINNERS

    Actress: Julie Christie

    Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem

    Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett

    Director: Joel & Ethan Coen

Adapted Screenplay: No Country for Old Men

    Original Screenplay: Michael Clayton

    Thank you!

  • Oscar nominated film Norbit.....

    fuck....

  • yes! blanchett to win!!!!!!!! also Marion Cotillard!!! the most powerful performance of the year!

  • I think Sean Penn is one of the most overrated filmmakers. His career-high was "Dead Man Walking".

  • I wanted to see Denzel Washington nominated for best actor.I also wanted to see Judd Apatow nominated for best original screenplay

  • Sean Penn is going to be extemely pissed.... i'm quite scared!

  • fuck sean penn. hes a loudmouth cry baby.

  • i'll give you loudmouth (not crybaby) but he is a great fucking filmmaker - check out 'the pledge' or 'the crossing guard' and in fairness 'into the wild' is a better movie than michael clayton - it should've got a best picture nomination at least!

  • DAMN! Tim Burton, Wes Anderson, and The Simpsons Movie not nominated!

  • the simpsons movie? haha. i'll give u wes anderson and tim burton
