I agree with the 'it's about damn time' comments. She is at least in my top 3 favorite musicians, depending on mood the favorite period. She says it's a pleasure/privilege & that she would just as soon share her musical talent for popcorn and peanuts LOL -her modesty only makes her that much more endearing. So many vocalists today think that just projecting and modulating voice as often as possible makes them some musical DaVinci but at least for my ears no one is as good as Ms. Baker.

I'm overwhelmed that Ms. Baker was overwhelmed. It is about time she was honored and recognized as a legend of our generation. I am a bit discussed that some female artist who really aren't in her league were selected ahead of her but I guess better late than never. How many Grammy's does she have?

Anita is wonderful. The main problem is that hardly anybody focuses on being good musicians anymore. People just want to make music that just comes and goes. Hardly anyone makes timeless music today. That's why im glad we have people like Janelle Monae, Melanie Fiona and Jazmine Sullivan in the today's industry. They are musicians. The industry needs more of that. People pick up Janelle Monae's The Archandroid and Jazmine Sullivan's Love Me Back. Both are great album's.

@SexyLiLLeilaniMya Anita is such a humble soul she always speaks so highly of her peers, never does she find her way into the "Competition Diva Drama" that so many of the ladies in the industry right now do and she just is REAL and very raw her talent is all her own and she has God's Lungs every single time I've watched or heard Anita being interviewed about her songs/music she has always said "WE" instead of "MY" and what that means is she gives the credit to all that are involved with her!
