Mm, in the show she's a siren who just wants someone to love her for who she is instead of because her voice makes them love her. She manipulates people, but she's not evil. It's a good episode; you should try to catch it somewhere. Not sure where it's up now... hm. I don't have it anymore.

I'm of the opinion that nowadays, they find kids with a modicum of talent, highly pressuring parent and/or self esteem issues and train them the best they can, and any flaws that remain they iron out in a studio with technology. But that's just cynical old me.

I"m wondering, where did you find the episode??? I went through an obsessive recording phase, recorded like, EVERYTHING lol, and I recorded this episode, along with the one where Molly Phillips gives her last concert (of the 1st season, didn't watch the 2nd season cuz I didn't like it) and I either lost the tape or accidentally recorded over it. So mad at myself for that.
