my old one set up with the HKS and I had the same problem, somehow all the exhaust would come out one side only and had unwanted back pressure, I ended up getting a Borla and my troubles were over, but the sound of the tanabe has a much deeper below than my borla did, yours is possibly cheaper than mine, I am in the planning stages to build a VR4 now, I love these cars, but I plan to go the single turbo route, I did have some problems with the stock turbos, but mine failed after 10 years

$1300 is a lot, but thats a stainless turboback system, and you won't find anything cheaper for the quality.

@nongboof idk theres stainless steel ebay exhuasts out there for $400 for a full turbo back system. They're pretty good quality too

@curmston I couldn't say anything about ebay exhaust systems, never bought an exhaust by way of auction before, but you know the old saying, you get what you pay for. If someone is building a car on a budget then a $400 system would be a good choice, but if you have the money to spend you can't argue against a Tanabe turboback.

@nongboof yea tanabe is w/o a doubt top of the line. I just bought that ebay exhaust for my vr4. Its basically a knock off of the tanabe, same flow design pretty much. So I'll post a review on it once i get it hooked up

@curmston The things that concern me about exhaust systems like that are the weld quality and the quality of the steel, not all stainless steels are created equal. Looking forward to hearing how well that system works out for you, I'm actually in the market for a new exhaust for my stealth so I might have to check that out.

@curmston yea that is true. I put my downpipe on and it only required drilling out the holes and making them a little bit larger for fitment. Downpipe looked great though, we'll see how it preforms. I have the rest of the exhaust coming in on saturday or monday, and like i said ill give a little review of it

@Dylanmc69 actually the 3000GT has one exhaust that splits 2/3 along the way into two mufflers. From downpipe to catalyzer the GTO/3000GT/Stealth only has one pipe, then splits into two after the catalyzer. Its because of the Active Exhaust, I'm pretty sure you know how that works. Even after they removed the Active Exhaust, the split exhaust kinda sticked, because the buyers liked it and it would cost too much to make a total redesign.

If this is really tanabe. Make a exhaust for the NA 3000Gt 90-99. 2.5 single catback. The stock Cat outlet is 2.5. There are no NA exhaust. NA sounds crappy too, I figured a single exhaust with twice the air flowing through a muffler would sound meaner.

3 Inch cat backs will bolt up to a NA 3000GT. Look at my vids of my SL with TT Borlas.

Gay! Atleast I know what I'm talking about. Turbo exhaust isn't 2.5. I have a NA so I don't need more mufflers. My exhaust goes from the engine to one pipe, not two. Your exhaust pipe should stay the same diamater, which helps performance. Its OK, and so easy I'll make it myself. It only requires one 45deg bend, and the VR4 isn't true duel exhaust like a 300ZX. VR4 has 1 mid pipe, not 2 like the Z:)
