I've fallen once or twice on my pointes and my teacher says that to fall is to learn from your mistakes and get comfortable and at least you know what it feels like to fall than to worry all the time about it when your actually up on pointes :)

I love the guy at 1:21. He makes it look like it was part of the dance! I fell in class the other day when we were doing fouettes and my bum hurt SO bad! I wish I had a guy like the one at 2:36 to pick me up!
the girl at 24 performing, her fall was adorable! i no tat sounds weird but it was cute it was all *sllliiidddeeeee....and then POP! shes back up. hahaha. your a true ballerina once you have fallen at least 100 times. haha
Everyone has their fair share of falls during ballet...it's hard! But I love how after almost all of the falls the dancer gets up and keeps going...I know it's what you're supposed to do, but i just still find it amazing.
Tell me one thing. Why is it that in sports, people are allowed to and even expected to fall all the time. For instance in figure skating, or a better example high jump, people are not expected to get over the damned bar all the time, and it is not a scandle if they do'nt. Whereas in ballet it is different...
1:59 - 2:06 HAAA,HA HA!!! The public's voices!!! I can't stop laugh! In general, I like most when they stand up than when they fall down, but that one 1:59 HAAA,HA!!!
I cant believe it! :0 yes, I do know that dancers can fall but these are professional famous dancers. This cant be. I think that the stage is slippery. It cant be that there skills are that bad. For at least 1/3 of all those falls have to be the slippery stage.
I've heard stories about ballet being less than perfect, but to actually see this video... The poor dancers, but quite funny as well. 2:00-2:06, 5:45-5:43, 6:11-6:24, 7:08-7:36, and 7:45-7:55 really made me laugh. :D
Lol it's quite encouraging really, because you have to admit that even if you mess up REALLY badly in a dance show, you can't possibly have done worse than these guys! It's all been done before! Lol :)
It's a good reminder that ballet is extremely difficult, and that a good dancer makes it look easy. Especially toe shoes! That's when I gave up ballet, after 6 years of instruction, it was just too painful.
I didn't like seeing them fall - what I really found interesting was to see how each dancer reacted when they did. the best ones seemed to just go on with the dance effortlessly, as if nothing had happened.

Wow, just recently i was doing my solo which had fouettes. and as i was doing my turns i slipped and fell! i turned so red lol. i never thought professional dancers fell! so this made me feel better
Between the overly-waxed floor and the fact Russian ballet stages have a "rake" (the floor is angled very slightly), I'm surprised there hasn't been more pratfalls during a ballet performance in Russia.
it's really relieving to see that even the most professionals "may" fall during action. I couldn't help myself rofl tho. I'm really afraid of falling and embarrassing myself by creating sucha scene =)
