I agree that Michelle's name will stay, but that doesn't mean that there won't be other girls who will ALSO stay in history. Once there was no Michelle and later she came, so will come others.

Yes, Tonya was one of the best skaters in the 80"s. Only American woman to do the triple axil in competition.

Harding was an athletic jumper and had the best triple axle for women in the US - no doubt. But Midori Ito's the one who actually pioneered athletic jumping in women's skating (first woman in the world to land the triple axle in competition.) But yes, Harding was a great jumper.

I really hope Mirai Nagasu has a real breakthrough. She's such a talent and has a lot of charisma.

Caroline is very superior to Rachael Flatt. Rachael Flatt cannot match the artistry of Caroline, AnnaLinansky. FOR your info. And Caroline is not that skinny. Yes, she's slim and healthy, NOT bone skinny.

I don't think that Caroline is superior to Rachael. Of course she's more experienced in terms of senior competitions but still I do think it'll be important how they'll manage the growth spurt and if they're able to adjust their jumping. All of the girls featured in this montage will be worth to watch out for in the near future.

I strongly agree waddleduckie, Caroline is the most elegant and graceful skater in the new generation (in my opibion) She has Shizuka's grace and Sasha's flexibility

I think that carole Zhang is to thin she will not reatch all the way she probebly will get a indjurey. But kimmie Meissner will come back now when she changed coach and rachel flat will be bright star inte future :) thats my thoughts

I dont know,except maybe for Nagasu or Zhang.. I think that this new generation... mmm they are technicly amazing... but there is like something empty in their skating.. they dont bring the emotion and the excitement of the past generetions.. for me they look like a machine doing "just elements". All look the same.Nothing like MK, Sasha, Tara, Nicole Bobek, even Angela Nikodinov, or Irina slutskaya!

Um, I don't limit it to "artistically", that's kind of insulting. Kwan is the most decorated skater in American history. 9 time US and 5 world Championships. I miss her terribly, and her fans won't forget.

i totally agree with that Michelle is one of the greatest skaters in history..but that was in the old system and in the new systems she has struggled with it...Im not putting her down im pointing out that these girls are young and have tremendous talent and they will become better as the years come....thats why i cant wait for 2010 and 2014 olympic to see how much they have grown

I don't won't to flame up an argument here, but Kwan only skated one or two competitions under the new system, when everyone was struggling to figure it out. That's a little revisionist history to say she "struggled" with it compared to others. Anyway, I do agree that others have great potential. I enjoyed watching Zhang at the US this year, and am always a fan of Kimmie's. I can't wait for the Olympics either, always a big moment for skaters.

I don't want to flame up an argument either, but as much as I love Michelle, she could not keep up with skaters like Zhang and Yu-Na Kim under the new system. Michelle's artistically unmatched, but she doesn't take risks in the technical department. How many triple-triples has she landed? Or Bielmann spins?

Don't get me wrong, I'm an old timer and will take Katarina Witt over Miki Ando any day. I'm just saying, the new system rewards athleticism more than artistry.

And just how many triple-triples has Zhang landed that weren't downgraded for under rotation or edge call? And Michelle's basic skating skills are much stronger than most of these new skaters. Those do still count for something.

Well, queen, there wasn't room. They couldn't put Irina Slutskaya, or Oksana, Baiul and others..... they were great too. The other thing is that Tonya Harding's reputation became much too controversial for her to be placed with the finest figure skaters here. Overall, the montage is absolutely spectacular.
